Melon Blossom Simple Birthday

A very good morning to you all and happy Wednesday! Only three more days people! Wee! For today’s card I made a simple colorful birthday card. This card would actually make a nice set in different coordinating colors given in a box, I think I might just do that. Anyway, I used some Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeade, Pretty In Pink and Whisper White Card Stock. The base of the card is Melon Mambo and on top of that I added a piece of Whisper White that I ran through the Big Shot using the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I punched out a piece of Melon Mambo with the Blossom Punch (Occasions Mini) and then a piece of Pretty In Pink with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch. I threaded some White Bakers Twine through a Bitty Button and adhered it to the flower with a Mini Glue Dot. The 5 Petal Flower Punch works great for making leaves so I punched out some Lucky Limeade and then cut it into five sections and adhered two to the back of the flower. I used the Decorative Label Punch on some more Lucky Limeade for a back to the greeting from the Perfect Punches Stamp Set which I stamped in Melon Mambo. The pieces were then adhered to the card with Mini Glue Dots. The colors have a nice spring feel to them and I’m sure that someone would love to get this for their birthday! Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!!

Mojo 230

Good morning! It’s Tuesday, which means one more day closer to the weekend! At least we all made it through Monday! Today may I present to you this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge…

The question begs round or square… I always do square (and today is no exception) but one day I’ll have to do round. I decided to play around with the Sale-A-Bration items for today’s card. The card base is Lucky Limeade and to that I added a piece of the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (Sale-A-Bration). I then took some Poppy Parade and punched the edge with the Scallop Edge Border Punch and added a piece of ribbon from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack. The images on the Very Vanilla Card Stock are stamped from the Fresh Vintage Stamp Set (Sale-A-Bration) in Soft Suede and then it’s mounted on a piece of Soft Suede Card Stock. I used the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch and some Pool Party and Peach Parfait Card Stock for the flower (did you notice that the flower is on the DSP too?!) and put one of the Large Pearls Basic Jewels in the middle. The greeting is from Perfect Words (IB&C – Host(ess)) and is stamped in Lucky Limeade and mounted to a piece of Lucky Limeade that is punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch. I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the rectangle to the card and give it some dimension. I hope that you like today’s card and thanks, as always, for stopping by! Have a great Tuesday!

Paper Players #84

A good Monday morning to you all. I hope that you had a nice weekend and that the work week goes quickly! For this weeks Paper Players Challenge they give us the following sketch…

I like the sketch because it’s quite different form any that I remember doing recently. I went with a recently acquired color, Tangerine Tango for this weeks card. The base of the card is Very Vanilla and to that I added some Brights Stack Designer Series Paper in Tangerine Tango. The layered rectangle is Crumb Cake, Tangerine Tango and Very Vanilla which I ran through my Big Shot in the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to coordinate with the DSP. The images are form the Tiny Tags Stamp Set and are stamped in Tangerine Tango. I used the Small Oval Punch to punch them out and adhered them to some circles that were punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. They were then adhered to the polkadots background with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from Elementary Elegance (Sale-A-Bration) and was punched out with the Large Oval Punch and then mounted on a piece of Crumb Cake that was punched out with the Modern Label Punch and also placed on Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Dotted Scalloped Ribbon Border Punch is a great substitute for fabric ribbon and completes the card. Thanks for stopping by and and please feel free to leave a comment. Have a great day!

Woodgrain Butterfly Thoughts

Good morning everyone! Sunday already, where does the weekend go? I think we need to make it a four day work week, seems a little more balanced… no? Today’s card is another one that with a simple greeting change could be used for so much more. It’s a quick card that doesn’t use too much (sometimes I don’t realize all that I use until I go to upload the pictures to my blog!!) and has a clean and simple design. I used another “new to me” item, the Woodgrain Background Stamp, and I am a huge fan. It’s nice and subtle stamped in Crumb Cake Ink on Crumb Cake Card Stock and mounted to a Not Quite Navy base. I stamped the images in Not Quite Navy Ink from the Flight of the Butterfly Wood Mount Set and punched them out with the Butterfly Punch. The greeting is from the Word Play Set and is also stamped in Not Quite Navy Ink and mounted on Not Quite Navy Card Stock. Sometimes less is more! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

French Foliage CASE

Happy Saturday to you all! I’m off to the Manhattan today to drop off some orders, my daughter is going to take a ride in with me. It will be cold but I love Manhattan. For today’s card I CASED my friend Sandy’s card. I loved the card so much that I got the French Foliage Stamp Set just so I could make it. The card is uses every stamp in the set at least once. I stamped the images in Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze and Always Artichoke on Very Vanilla Card Stock. The square image on the card is actually Clear Block C stamped on the ink pad and then onto the card. I added some 3/16″ Metallic Brads and 1/4″ Early Espresso Grosgrain Ribbon for embellishment. The greeting is from a great go to set Teeny Tiny Wishes and is stamped in Early Espresso and punched out with the Word Window Punch then mounted on a halved Stampin’ Dimensional. Very Vanilla is mounted on Crumb Cake and then mounted on the card base of Early Espresso. This card would work for so many different occasions, thank you, miss you and especially a masculine birthday. I really like the card, it’s one of my favorites of all time. I hope that you have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by. 🙂

French Blossom Designer Label

Yeah!! It’s Friday!! I hope that you all had a good week and that you are doing some fun stuff for the weekend! For today’s card I used my new (to me) En Français Background Stamp. Background stamps are a great addition to your creative arsenal. They can take the place of embossing or Designer Series Paper. I stamped the En Français in Soft Suede on Very Vanilla Card Stock. Then I used the Blossom Punch to punch out most of the flower from the edge of one side. I mounted it on some Pool Party Card Stock and stamped and image from the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set (Occasions Mini) in Peach Parfait and punched that out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch and placed in the middle of the flower. I used my Big Shot and the Labels Collection Framelits Dies (Occasions Mini) to cut out some more Pool Party and then ran it through again in the Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped the greeting from the Elementary Elegance Stamp Set (Sale-A-Bration) in Peach Parfait and punched it out with the Extra Large Oval Punch and placed it in the middle of the frame. I love the beautiful simplicity of the card and it was a nice quick one to make. I hope that you enjoyed it and thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!!

A very good Thursday to you all. One more day and it’s… FRIDAY!! I love the weekend, but who doesn’t?! Today, I give you this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge…

I really like this weeks sketch, it’s perfect for a Designer Series Paper background. I used some of the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper form the Sale-A-Bration Catalog (FREE with any $50 purchase). I really like the collection of papers that they include and I have used every one of them. The images are from the Vintage Vogue Stamp Set and are stamped in Calypso Coral. I cut the flower out and put it on a Stampin’ Dimensional. Then, I ran a piece of Soft Suede through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A piece of Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon was then tied around it and adhered to the background with a combination of Sticky Strip and SNAIL, I like to make sure that it’s going to stay put! I mounted the stamped piece of Very Vanilla on top of that with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede. One side has a another Stampin’ Dimensional and the other side SNAIL for even adhesion! I hope that y0u like the card and thanks for taking a look. As always, any comments are greatly appreciated! Paper Players #83

Happy humpday… err… Wednesday! We’re halfway there! For this weeks Paper Players Challenge they ask that you create a masculine card with clean and simple lines…

I decided to use one of my favorite masculine sets, The Open Sea. The set is still available as a write in (123030-Wood Mount, 123032-Clear Mount) and is great for masculine or travel themed cards or scrapbook pages. I stamped the map and the ships log images in Night of Navy Ink on Whisper White Card Stock. Using my Circle Scissor Plus, I cut out the map and then used the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch out a piece of Crumb Cake for the backing. The log was backed with Crumb Cake and adhered to the background. I used the Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates and my Big Shot with Night of Navy for that. I stamped the greeting from the Family Reunion Stamp Set and mounted that and the map on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I decided to skip any ribbon or other embellishments and keep it really clean. I love the colors and the images, with a quick greeting change it would work for Father’s Day too. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Paper Players Design Team Call

A good Tuesday morning to everyone. Today’s post is a very important one. The Paper Players are holding an open Design Team Call and I would love to be part of the team. My name is Justin Krieger and I have been paper crafting in some form since I was about 10 years old. Back then I used to make car dashboards out of oaktag. Thankfully, my medium has evolved into stamps and card stock with my card making and 3D projects. The card making seriously kicked into gear a little over a year ago and in August of last year I was introduced to Stampin’ Up! by a wonderful friend of mine, Sandy. I signed up to be a Demonstrator and have loved every minute of it. My favorite part has to be playing along each week with the challenges. It broadens my creativity and widens my horizons. I love seeing all of the other samples and entries each week and finally seeing who is chosen as the picks of the week. I write down my choices and compare notes, and get ready to do it all again. Below are my three projects for your consideration. I hope that you enjoy them and thanks for taking the time to look! Any comments are always appreciated and as always thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

The first 3D window shadow box card, Happy Valentine’s Day!

My Grandmother’s 93rd Birthday Card, one of my favorites!

An engagement card that goes with the frame/box below…

I scanned in the picture from when he actually proposed in Rockefeller Center!

The frame open so the card and “gift” can go inside.

Happy Birthday Louis

Good Monday morning to everyone. I hope that you all had a great weekend. For today’s card I am posting a card that I sent to my good friend Louis. We have been friends for a long time, he’s a great person and I’m happy to call him friend. It’s nice to get to make a masculine birthday card every once in a while. I used some Very Vanilla, Not Quite Navy and Cajun Craze Card Stock. The image is from the Uncharted Territory Stamp Set. It’s a great set for a masculine card with it’s lighthouse and sailboat images. I stamped the sailboat image in Not Quite Navy on Very Vanilla. The background for the card was created using the Square Lattice Texture Impressions Embossing Folder and Not Quite Navy. Finally, the greeting is from Happiest Birthday Wishes. I use the set a lot because it has so many great birthday greetings. I hope that you enjoyed this quick birthday card. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
