Paper Players #109 – Take 2!

Lets give this another try! Apparently on Sunday I suffered from a bout of Dyslexia! I read the this week’s Paper Players Challenge as Paper Piercing… for the rest of the world it said Paper Piecing! Thank you to Sandy for bringing it to my attention. That’s the thing about blog posts, once they are out there it’s done. Thank you to the Paper Players for removing my card from yesterday, this one we can keep I hope! 🙂

Once again thank you to Jaydee for choosing my card from last week! Now on to this week’s Paper Players Challenge. The wonderful Anne Marie has given us a PAPER PIECING (just off by an R!) CAS challenge…

When I finally read it correctly I thought hmm… I don’t think that I have ever done that, well I have now! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped the two layer cake images from the Make A Cake Stamp Set in Basic Black on Patio Party Designer Series Paper and cut them out with my Paper Snips. I stamped the images again in Primrose Petals and used the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies to cut it out And adhered the pieces to the stamped image with 2-Way Glue. I Paper-Pierced (well, I just had to :-)) the edge using the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool. Then I cut three strips of Patio Party DSP, flagged the ends and adhered them to the card with SNAIL. The stamped image is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the Pennant Builder Punch to make the banner across the top. Some more Patio Party DSP was inserted halfway and punched out. The Whisper White Bakers Twine needed a little something on the ends so I used some retired Twitterpated Designer Buttons mounted with Mini Glue Dots. The pennants are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set in Midnight Muse and cut it out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. A thin strip of Midnight muse is flagged and mounted behind it. I love the simplicity of the card and if you change the Primrose Petals out for another color you could easily use this for a guy’s birthday too. I hope you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Challenge card – take 2 and thank you for enduring my Dyslexia from yesterday! Have an amazing day!

Paper Players #109 Oops!

Updated! Apparently I should read a little better!! It’s not piercing, it’s piecing! LOL! I’ll be back tomorrow with the correct card! Ha ha ha! Wow, a little embarrassing but I did have a busy weekend so there you go! 🙂

Good morning, is it Monday all ready?! Boy did that weekend go fast. I’m happy to say that I made it through the Bridal Shower and the 70th Birthday Party unscathed. I also managed to do some major re-arranging in my house to expand my craft area. I was successful for the most part, now I just need to reorganize a little and find someplace for the few straggler items that are still in the living room. So, in the end I had a very productive weekend!

Today’s post is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. First, I want to thank Jaydee for choosing my card as her pick of the week for last weeks challenge! You can see the winners here and my original post here. Now on to this week’s challenge. The lovely Anne Marie has given us a Clean and Simple Paper Piercing Challenge…

Paper-Piercing… I LOVE Paper-Piercing! The base of my card is Lucky Limeade Card Stock. I added a strip from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack across the bottom. The greeting is from the Heart of Christmas Wood Mount Stamp and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits to cut it out. The piece under that is Lucky Limeade and is cut out with the same. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the edge. Under that we have some Cherry Cobbler and I pierced the outline of the label onto that. All of the layers are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For some bling I used the 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch out a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and the cut it half and adhered it to the label with the greeting using some 2-Way Glue. Last but certainly not least I used one of the Round Designer Ribbon Slides with a piece of Lucky Limeade Card Stock that I flagged the ends on and adhered it to the card with Mini Glue Dots. I love the greeting, it’s so true and Paper-Piercing… WEE! I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Player Challenge card. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a super day!

Eggplant Pool Congrats

Good morning everyone. How was everyone’s day yesterday? I had the Bridal Shower and it rained here in the morning but stopped around 12:30 just in time for the shower to start. There were all kinds of good food and we had fun. Today I’m posting the card that I gave Erika. I wanted it to coordinate with invitations so I kept clean and simple. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock that I stamped in Pool Party with the Distressed Dots Background Stamp. I cut a piece of Elegant Eggplant out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies and mounted it to the card with SNAIL. On top of that is a piece of Pool Party that I cut out with the Floral Frames Framelits Dies and embossed with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The main image is from the Love & Laughter Stamp Set and is stamped in Elegant Eggplant. I used my Paper Snips to cut it out and mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and is stamped in Elegant Eggplant and backed by a piece of Elegant Eggplant. It’s also mounted to the Card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Love & Laughter stamp set has some great wedding images and I like the color combination of Elegant Eggplant and Pool Party. After the party I came home and started working on expanding my craft area so I don’t have to rearrange so much while I’m working. I’ll finish that up today and I can’t wait! I hope that enjoyed today’s card and thank you for stopping by. Have a great day!

Gray Primrose I Am… Affection Birthday

Good morning and welcome to Saturday! What are all of you up to this weekend? I have the bridal shower today and a friend’s party tomorrow. I also have a ton of cards to make so I will be busy but in my favorite way! A few weeks ago it was my friend Danielle’s Birthday and here is what I made for her as a little gift set. The card and the box both use the Affection Collection Stamp Set, it is definitely one of my favorites from the Holiday Catalog. The base of the card is Basic Gray that I stamped in Basic Gray with the Distressed Dots Background Stamp. I was unable to go to Convention this year but a very good friend of mine was lucky enough to go and gave me the Convention Stamp Set I Am… and I love it. That is where the main greeting for the card comes from and it is stamped in Primrose Petals and cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. A piece of Vellum cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits is placed behind it and mounted to the card with Stampin Dimensionals on top of a piece of Primrose Petals that I used the Essentials Paper -Piercing Pack on and flagged the ends. The you are is also from that set and is stamped in Primrose Petals and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and mounted to a piece of Primrose Petals that is punched out with the Small Oval Punch. Two Basic Jewels Pearls on the top and bottom give a little bling. The Happy Birthday is from the From My Heart Stamp Set, stamped in Primrose Petals and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. A piece of Primrose Petals 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon is placed behind it. The winged heart is from the Affection Collection Stamp Set and is again stamped in Primrose Petals and a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper punched out with the Small Heart Punch is adhered to the center with a Mini Glue Dot and a Stampin’ Dimensional holds it on the card.

Next up we have the box which is made using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. The top of the box starts with a piece of Whisper White that is cut out with the Floral Frames Framelits Dies and Embossed with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Next up is a piece of Primrose Petals that is cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies and I used the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack to pierce the edge. On top of that is a rosette that is made using the Simply Scored from a piece of Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Series Paper. A piece of Vellum stamped with the celebrate banner from the Priority Mail Host(ess) Stamp Set in Basic Gray and Punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch is placed under a duplicate of the wings from the card.

Finally we have the little initial magnet. I stamped some images from the Affection Collection Stamp Set in Basic Gray and Primrose Petals on Whisper White. The initial is from the Lovely Letters Alphabet Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals and punched out with the 1″ Square Punch. I punched a piece of Basic Gray out with the 1 1/4″ Square Punch to back it and adhered it to the Whisper White. It is all placed in a acrylic photo magnet. For a little extra coordination I stamped the tissue paper with coordinating stamps.

It seems to me like I tried to use as many different items as I could! I never really pay attention to the stuff I am using while I am creating the project but when I go to blog it I see all that I used. LOL! I hope that you enjoyed seeing Danielle’s Birthday gift set as much as did. Thank you very much for visiting and have a wonderful day! 🙂

CCMC 214

Happy Friday everyone! I loves me some Friday! A friend of mine had back surgery yesterday so I’m off to the city tonight to pay him a visit. I have a busy weekend ahead of me too. My future Sister-in-law’s Bridal Shower is Saturday and I have another party on Sunday. I also have a ton of crafting to get done, but that’s the best part! 🙂

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a color challenge…

Two new In-Colors and a good old standard. The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock. I added a piece of Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper for the background. It’s a great example of how holiday paper can be used for other things too. The main panel is a piece of Very Vanilla that I paper-pierced using the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool and then flagged the bottom. I stamped the stems from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set in Gumball Green and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The jar, also from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set is stamped in Midnight Muse on Vellum Card Stock and cut out with the Cannery Framelits Dies. I used my Heat Tool to speed up the ink drying on the Vellum. The two daisies are created using the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. I punched four pieces out of Daffodil Delight and then used my Paper Snips to cut down each scallop leaving about 3/8″ in the middle. I adhered two together with Mini Glue Dots and adhered a Brights Collection Designer Button in the middle with another Mini Glue Dot. The leaves are cut out using the 1″ Circle Punch and are adhered with more Mini Glue Dots. I fanned up the petals and attached them to the card. The greeting is from the Friendship Preserves Stamp Set and I stamped it twice, once in Midnight Muse and the other in Gumball Green. I cut them out with the Window Frames Framelits Dies and snipped off the top and bottom of the Midnight Muse one. They are adhered to each other with Stampin’ Dimensionals and also to the card. Don’t forget that the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set and the Cannery Framelits Dies and the Friendship Preserves and the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies are both available as bundles with a 15% savings. I love the color combination and the use of Vellum for the jar. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card. Thank you very much for visiting and if you have any questions let me know. Have a great day! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #48

A good Thursday morning to you all. Were are almost through another week! We had some more “Florida” rain today (as I like to call it). It pours buckets for about 15 minutes and then the sun comes out and it does it all over again. I think it’s supposed to be nice today! I got a lot of questions yesterday asking me how I made the star on my card. As promised, here is the PDF “tutorial”, hope that helps. Thanks for asking! Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. This week’s challenge has been engineered by Tui…

I really like the layout a lot. I wanted to use a set that I haven’t used in a while so I reached for my World Treasures Stamp Set. I have used the peacock before but never the flowers. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I added some International Bazaar Designer Series Paper to the left and also three strips across the middle. On the strips across the middle I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits to “pink” the one side. The flowers are markered in Rich Razzleberry and Lucky Limeade. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get them lined up perfectly. The greeting is also from the World Treasures Stamp Set and is stamped in Lucky Limeade and cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. I also used them to cut out a piece of Rich Razzleberry to mount behind the greeting. They are all adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a little bling I put a Basic Jewels Rhinestone in the middle of each of the flowers. I love the color combination and the greeting is great. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card and that you have a wonderful Thursday! Thank for checking in! 🙂

Red Gumball 3D Star Christmas

Good morning and happy humpday to you! I just wanted to take a minute to thank all of you for stopping by and leaving comments, you propel my creativity to new heights and I really appreciate it! For today’s card I went with some traditional holiday colors. It has sort of a rustic modern country feel to it! 😛 The base of the card is Real Red Card Stock. I took a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock and used the Woodgrain Background Stamp with Crumb Cake Ink for the background. I cut it a little smaller than usual and flagged the bottom. Then I used some Vellum Card Stock and the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set stamped in Gumball Green for the greeting. The vellum is adhered to the Real Red 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon to hide the adhesive and the ribbon is adhered to the back of the Crumb Cake. For a little added detail I punched out some Gumball Green with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and cut the strip in half and used some 2-Way Glue to adhere it to the back of the flagged ends and then mounted the whole thing to the card with SNAIL. I used the Window Frames Collection Framelits to cut out a piece of Gumball Green and paper-pierced the edge using the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack. The star is cut from a piece of Real Red and I used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score from the point to the peak on opposite sides and the creased it up. Some Multipurpose Adhesive is used to hold it to the card. I love the 3 D star and have to come up with a way to make it detach so it could be used an ornament. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thank you again for stopping by. Enjoy your day!

Mojo 254

Hello peeps! I hope that everybody had a nice Monday. Mine was good, no complaints which is great! Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week’s sketch is provided by Carole Burrage…

I’m loving the sketch because it has a nice big flagged piece in it! My card starts off with a base of Baja Breeze Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered it to a piece of Early Espresso. The flagged piece of Baja Breeze is paper-pierced with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool, it’s mounted to the card with SNAIL. I used a piece of the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack and backed it with some Baja Breeze, it’s then mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. If you look closely you can see Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake in the paper, two colors that are not listed as the coordinating colors in the 2012 Holiday Catalog. Upon closer inspection I have found that most of Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Papers have some extra colors in them, you just have to take a little time and find them! I then used one of the Round Designer Ribbon Slides with some Early Espresso 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon. It is doubled on each side and small piece threaded through the middle for a quick tied bow effect. In the middle of the ribbon slide is a Vintage Faceted Designer Button and in the center of that is a basic Jewels Rhinestone. I adhered the ribbon on the back of the Early Espresso piece with Sticky Strip. The ornament is from the Keepsake Ornaments Stamp Set and Is stamped in Versa-Mark and Heat embossed with Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I then cut the ornament out with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. You can get both the stamp set and the framelits in a bundle and save 15%. The greeting is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and is stamped using my Stamp-a-ma-jig in Baja Breeze and mounted to a piece of Baja Breeze. Three Metallics 3/16″ Brads are on the left corner and I adhered the whole panel to the card base with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I have been on a non-tradiotional holiday color kick and I’m liking the results. I hope that you enjoyed tho week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card and thank you so much for checking in. Have a great day! 🙂

Paper Players #108

A good Monday morning everyone, or at least I’m hoping that it turns out to be. I always try to start the week off as optimistic as possible! Fingers crossed that we all have good weeks from now on. My brother and his fiancé were up from PA this weekend. She had her hair and makeup trial and her second to last dress fitting. It was also her birthday yesterday so we had some red velvet cake, which is my favorite! Happy Birthday Erika!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week Ann has given us a color challenge…

I’m loving the colors! I decided that I would try to come up with a different kind of card. I love anything 3D so I did a card that has a framed front and folds flat and still fits inside a standard envelope. Another good part, it uses standard 8 1/2″ x 11″ paper. The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock cut to 5 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ and scored at 1/2″, 1″, 4 3/4″ and 5 1/4″ with my Simply Scored. All of the stamped images are from the Papaya Collage Stamp Set. I cut a frame out of a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped the frame image in Not Quite Navy and cut a piece out of the card base the same size as the inside of the frame. Another piece of Very Vanilla is stamped a few times with the leaves image in Crumb Cake and mounted to inside. The bird and the butterflies are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and cut out with my Paper Snips. The bird is mounted to the leaves with Stampin Dimensionals and the butterflies with SNAIL. Two Basic Jewels Pearls on each one make the bodies. The greeting is from the Curly Cute Stamp Set and is stamped in Not Quite Navy and backed with a piece of Not Quite Navy Card Stock. The piece of Cherry Cobbler along the right side was cut with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies and a thin piece of Comfort Café Designer Series Paper was added on top. I am really liking this card and it wasn’t to difficult to make. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Paper Players Challenge card and that you will be having a great day and fantastic week! Thank you for visiting!

Freaky Monthly Challenge!

A very good Sunday Morning to you all. I spent most of the day catching up on some creativity, which is definitely my favorite way to spend a Saturday! I have some amazing news to share with you all. About a month ago I got a very exciting email Lisa, her blog is Get Your Stamp On! The email asked me if I would like to become a member of The Control Freaks!! I couldn’t believe it! WOW! To be asked to join such an amazingly talented group was beyond exciting. I of course accepted and today I am posting my first card for the Freaks. They have a Freaky Monthly Challenge amongst the members and here is my card for August. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used a piece of the new Core’dinations Card Stock in Early Espresso and embossed it with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The fun part is when you use the new Stampin’ Sanding System to sand the card stock and reveal the lighter inside layer. A little rub with the Core’dinations Dust Buddy and I adhered it to the card with SNAIL. The next layer is a piece of World Spectacular Designer Series Paper backed with a piece of Very Vanilla. The layer on top of that is another piece backed with some more Very Vanilla. I used the ticket stamp from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and stamped them in Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler and Island Indigo. The Ticket Duo Builder punch is used to punch them all out and I used some 2-Way Glue to adhere them to the DSP. Another piece of World Spectacular DSP is mounted to the ticket layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The ballon image is also from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo and cut out with my Paper Snips. The greeting is from the Blue Ribbon Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso and also cut out with Paper Snips. They are both mounted to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I’m really happy with the card and hope that the Freaks and you enjoy it. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
