Paper Players #112

Good Monday morning all. I’m actually liking Monday this week because my cousin comes from England today! As Kathy mention it’s the first time I have ever said that I liked Monday! It’s been two years since I have seen almost to the day. I can’t wait for 5:00! Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Players. It’s sketch number 112 and my birthday is the 12th, coincidence?! This week we have a color challenge…

I’m really liking these colors! I have used the Postage Due Stamp Set a lot, it’s one of my favorites, so I needed to come up with a different way to incorporate it and here’s what I did. The base of the card is Baja Breeze Card Stock. I used the Large Scallop Edgelits Die on a piece of Basic Black and then used the  Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folders to emboss it. I left it a little taller and adhered it to the bottom half of the card. I stamped the large image from the Postage Due Stamp Set in Basic Grey on some linen fabric. I took a piece of Crumb Cake and put Sticky Strip along the edge and pulled the fabric around the back and adhered it. Then I another piece of Crumb Cake cut slightly smaller the the back of that and used some SNAIL in the middle and Multipurpose Adhesive around the edges to prevent the fabric from fraying. I did the same process with one of the stamp images using Baja Breeze and adhered it to the main image with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. To attach it to the card I used some magnetic tape. The greeting is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Grey on Very Vanilla. I flagged the ends and adhered it to the card with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The best part is that you can take the main image off the front of the card and it becomes a refrigerator magnet! I also love the way the images look stamped on the linen. I hope that you enjoyed tis week’s Paper Players Challenge Card and that you are inspired to try something different. Thank you so much for visiting and for you comments. Have an amazing day!

Paper Craft Crew Sketch 6

A good Sunday morning to you all. I had a nice crafty Saturday and today with be laundry and clean the house day. I’m thinking that I will have liked Saturday better than Sunday this weekend! Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew. The blog is in the the process of being revamped and they will have a launch at the end of October. I also have some really exciting news. The owner of the blog, Pam, has asked me to be a member of the design team! Well, I can tell you that I was a little happy to hear that! For my first week playing we have a sketch challenge…

A nice simple layout and I decided to mix some old with some new. The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Soft Suede with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. A piece of Comfort Café Designer Series Paper is mounted to a piece of Pool Party and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals for the next layer. I used the Border Banter Stamp Set, stamped in Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit, and some Very Vanilla to crete the flags. A piece of Summer Starfruit cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlits die is the placed behind the images from the Artistic Etching Stamp Set. They are stamped in Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit. The large lacy circle is cut out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and the crown and amour are cut out with my Paper Snips. They are all mounted to the card with Stampin Dimensionals. I like the mix of the softness of the Comfort Café DSP with the graphic nature of the Border Banter. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge card. Don’t forget to head on over to the blog and see what all of the other talented designers are up to. While you’re at it enter your creation in this weeks challenge! Thank you for visiting with me and have an awesome day! 🙂

Hey everyone how are you doing today? It’s Saturday so it must be better than yesterday! I have to get ready for my visitors from across the pond this weekend. I’m looking forward to Monday and seeing my cousin and card class too!

Today’s post is for this weeks Pals Paper Arts. This time we have a color challenge…

I wanted to use something I haven’t used before so I opted for the corn from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set. The base of my card is Elegant Eggplant Card Stock. I used a piece of Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper and the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing tool to pierce around all four sides before I adhered it to the card with SNAIL. The FALL is stamped in Elegant Eggplant using the Lovely Letters Alphabet Stamps. I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies to “pink” the top and bottom before I adhered it to a piece of Elegant Eggplant. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. The images are from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set and are stamped once in Pumpkin Pie and a second time in Lucky Limeade. I used the Cannery Framelits Dies to cut them out and then used my Paper Snips on the Lucky Limeade ones to cut off the corn. The Lucky Limeade pieces are adhered to the Pumpkin Pie pieces with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The words are from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and are stamped in Pumpkin Pie and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and adhered to the corn with SNAIL. I love the little extra that some paper-piercing gives the background and hope that you enjoyed the card too. Thank you for swinging by today and I hope the rest of your Saturday is a good one!

Happy Friday everyone! That was one of the better weeks, mainly because if the lack of working Monday! I was in Manhattan last night seeing some friends and avoiding Fashions Night Out. I also forgot that Thursday is happy hour night, who doesn’t love a train full of drunk people! LOL!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week have a sketch challenge…

Once again, as soon as I saw it I knew exactly what stamp I was going to use! I started with a base of Island Indigo Card Stock. I created a mask and stamped the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Early Espresso on the card. The next layer consists of a piece of Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper mounted to a piece of Early Espresso. I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies to cut the bottom end. A piece of Island Indigo 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon is slid through a Round Designer Ribbon Slide and adhered around the back with Sticky Strip. The panel is then mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the stamped image I used the Heart of Christmas Wood Mount Stamp and stamped it in Island Indigo and again in Cherry Cobbler. I trimmed out the “Christmas” and “that puts christmas in the air” from the Cherry Cobbler image and flagged the ends of the latter. I mounted the cutout pieces to the stamped image with Stampin’ Dimensional pieces. It’s backed by some Cherry Cobbler and mounted to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the finishing touch I used three Metallic 3/16″ Designer Brads across the top right of the panel. I have to say that Heart of Christmas is my favorite wood mount stamp. I think I like the font, I’m a bit of a font junkie. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge card. Thank you so much for checking and keep leaving your comments, I love reading them! Have a crafty kind of day! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #51

Good morning everyone! How are we all faring this week? I’m doing pretty well, although I do feel like I live in a swamp for the past two days. It has been so humid here on Long Island and we have had torrential rain for a good part of the day for the past two days. Hopefully the humidity will break today! Fingers crossed!

Today’s post os for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Before we get to that I want to thank Alissa for choosing me as her Perfect Prince for last week’s challenge! You can see the original post here and the Freshly Made Sketches post here. Now on to this week. Cindy has provided us with this neat sketch…

When I saw it I knew I wanted to do a holiday card. I also wanted to mix up the colors a little too. I started with a base of Night of Navy Card Stock. I took a piece of Soft Suede and trimmed right edge with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies. To the top of that I adhered a piece of paper from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. The main stamped images are form the Affection Collection Stamp Set. The large image is stamped in Night of Navy and cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies along with a piece of Cherry Cobbler one size up. I used the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool around the edge of both. The flagged stamp is stamped in Soft Suede. I stamped the large image again in Cherry Cobbler and used the Modern Label Punch to punch out the middle. The greeting is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy. All of the pieces are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a little bling I used the Owl Builder Punch to punch out the heart from a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper. I really like the color combination and will definitely be using it again. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card. Thank you for visiting and for your comments. Have an amazing day!

Fab Friday 01

Hello all and welcome to an early Wednesday brought to you by our day off this week, Monday. Thanks Monday, for one of the first times in recent memory I like you! LOL! Today’s post is for a new weekly challenge called Fab Friday. It was founded by Mindy Backes and is made up of a wonderful team. I decided that seeing as it’s the inaugural challenge let’s give it a try. The challenge is for every other Friday and this week we have a sketch…

I have to say that I kind of like it! The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I took a piece of Lucky Limeade and cut the lower edge with the Finishing Touches Edgelits. A piece of Primrose Petals is embossed with the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and placed right above the bottom. The stamped images on top are from the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set, The pine needles are stamped in Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso on a Very Vanilla background. The poinsettias are 2-Step Stamped in Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals. I used my Paper Snips to cut them out and mounted them to the background with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Chock Full of Cheer Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso, I flagged the left side and on the right side is a Natural Designer Button with some Linen Thread adhered with a Mini Glue Dot. I have had a bit of an obsession with Primrose Petals lately I know. For some reason it reminds me of Teaberry Ice Cream that I have only ever had in Pennsylvania when I stayed at my Grandmother’s house. Maybe I’m feeling nostalgic! Has any one else ever had Teaberry ice cream? Anyway, I hope that you enjoyed the very first Fab Friday Sketch Challenge card. Thank you so very much for visiting and for all of your comments, I love them! Have a crafty day! 🙂

Mojo 257

Good morning peeps! Or is it?! Back to work, but it’s a short week! I had a very productive weekend and I even got to relax a little. Now I did put off some cleaning for next weekend but like they say Rome wasn’t built in a day. Now for today’s post which is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week Julee Tilman has given us this layered sketch to work with…

I have to admit that this card took me a little time to make. I was undecided as to what I was going to use and I went back and forth for quite a while but in the end I’m quite happy with the results. The base of the card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Primrose Petals with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The next layer is a piece of Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper that I adhered to a piece of Lucky Limeade that I edged with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies. The ribbon across the lower portion is Primrose Petals 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon. I used some Sticky Strip to adhere it around the back and then mounted the whole thing to the card with SNAIL. The top layer is a piece of Primrose Petals that I stamped in Primrose Petals with the En Français Background Stamp. It’s backed by a piece of Very Vanilla and adhered to the card with Stampin Dimensionals. The flagged piece is also from the Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP pack. For the main image I stamped a snowflake from the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set in Primrose Petals after I cut out the circle with the Circles #2 Bigz Die. I backed it with a piece of Lucky Limeade that I punched out with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. The two snow flakes at the top and bottom of the main image, stamped in Lucky Limeade, are also from the same set and are punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The flagged greeting is form the Joyous Celebration Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso. I know, you have heard it before but I am a really big fan of non-tradiotional holiday colors. I love these colors together and the sketch provides some rich layering. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card and as always thank you for stopping by. I love reading your comments so don’t forget to leave me one! Have a great day!

Paper Players #111

Good morning everyone and happy Labor Day! I’m always happy on Labor Day because it’s a holiday and I have no work! LOL! I hope that everyone is having a nice weekend. I am having a good one. I got lots of stuff accomplished and made a bunch of cards too.

Before I get to today’s post I would like to thank LeAnne for choosing my card as Headliner for the Paper Players Challenge 110. I’m so glad that she enjoyed the card, it has some of my favorite colors in it and I love the Wonderfall Stamp Seta and the Autumn Accents Bigz Die. You can see the original post here and the Paper Players post here. For this week’s Paper Players Challenge Jaydee has asked us to use leaves or a tree in our project…

Seeing as I had just used the Wonderfall set I decided to go with a favorite of mine that carried over from the 2011 Holiday Catalog, Gently Falling. The base of my card is Cajun Craze Card Stock. I used the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and a piece of More Mustard for the background. The Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies cutout is paper-pierced with the Festive Paper -Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing tool. I used my Color Spritzer tool and an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to spritz the card stock before adhering it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It creates the backdrop for the wreath I made with the Gently Falling Stamp Set. I stamped the outline of all of the images in Early Espresso. The fill in colors are Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. I cut all of the stamped images out with my Paper Snips and mounted them to the Window Frame with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso, punched out with the Word Window Punch and mounted to a piece of Riding Hood Red that I punched out with the Modern Label Punch. It too is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the final touch I used one of the Brushed Bronze Designer buttons. I tied some Linen Thread through a Brights Designer Button and adhered it to the Bronze button with some Mini Glue Dots and then adhered them to the card with more Mini Glue Dots. It felt good to use one of my older sets and I like the color combination with the pops of red. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Paper Player Challenge card and that you have a great day.Thank you so much for spending some time with me today.

Primrose Limeade Espresso Ornaments Tags

Hello and a good Sunday to you! Welcome to day two of our three day weekend. I think it’s going a little quicker that I would prefer but what can you do?! I still have lots to do before Tuesday becomes this weeks Monday so let start today’s post. As you know I’m a big fan of non-tradiotional Holiday colors so for today I’m posting some 3 x 3 cards that would make nice note cards or gift tags. I was inspired by a card that I saw in the August issue of our Demonstrator magazine, Stampin’ Success. I made a few modifications but kept the layout basically the same. I started with a base of Sahara Sand Card Stock cut to 6″ x 3″. Using the Large Scallop Edgelits Dies I took off about 1/4″ from the end of each one and used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce along the scallop. I then scored them and added a piece of Lucky Limeade under the scallop to make them 3 x 3 again. The layers in the middle are built using the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. I used Early Espresso for the bottom and pierced the edges. The next layer is Primrose Petals and again is pierced and adhered to the bottom layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The ornaments are from the Keepsake Ornaments Stamp Set and are all stamped in Lucky Limeade and cut out with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies. They too are mounted to the Primrose Layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The merry is from the Pennant Parade Stamp Set and is stamped in Real Red and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and adhered with some SNAIL. They look like they are more work than they are, the Framelits make cutting everything out a breeze. I hope that you are enjoying the non-traditional Holiday projects and that it’s making you think outside the box! Thank you very much for visiting today and enjoy!

CCMC 216

Good morning and welcome to day one of our three day weekend! It was a good day yesterday because we got out of work at 3:00. To make the day even better my very talented friend and daughter’s mom gave an early birthday present…

A beautiful bracelet! It’s made with sterling silver beads and hammered button closure with black leather cord. I love it! You can visit her Etsy shop and see all of the beautiful creations by clicking here. I think that she is quite talented! 🙂

Now on to today’s post, it’s for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a color challenge…

When I first saw the colors I thought Halloween and then I thought no, they would be great for a non-tradiotional holiday card. We all know how I like non-tradiotional holiday colors. I got the idea for the card from the Demonstrator magazine Stampin’ Success. The base of the card is Night of Navy Card Stock. I cut a piece of Sahara Sand to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack for the circles on the lower right. I stamped the greeting from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry and then markered the “on earth” in Lucky Limeade and flagged the ends. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals are used to adhere the whole thing to the card base. The stamped images are form the Merry Minis Stamp Set and are stamped in Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy and Lucky Limeade. I used the coordinating Merry Mini’s Punch Pack to punch them out and they are also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the simplicity of the card and originally I was going to use Crumb Cake for the background but decided to go with one of my more neglected colors, Sahara Sand, instead. I think it worked out quite well. I hope you enjoyed this weeks Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge card, let me know what you think by leaving a comment. Have a wonderful Saturday and thanks for visiting!
