Monday is here again and I am still without power. I did sneak home during “generator time” to make a card. I have been lucky enough to stay at my friend Louis’ house since Friday. My parents are also high on my awesome list as they took gas cans to the station when they got gas an got me 10 gallons! Like I said… awesome parents! The gas lines here on Long Island are still 2 to 3 hours long. There are so many people still without electricity. For all that we have accomplished in the past decade we still can’t manage to keep the lights on? Oh well, maybe someone will come up with a way soon. My thoughts and prayers are also with all of those that don’t have a house left to get lights in. It’s a tough time right now but we will all get through this and come out better!

It’s a fitting challenge for our current situation. My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Island Indigo for my background. The large image is from the Quint-Essential Flower and is stamped in Pool Party and punched out with the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch. The greeting in the middle is from the Blooming With Kindness Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo and punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. The smaller images are from the Circle Circus Stamp Set. The ones that are punched out with the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch are stamped in Pool Party and the tiny ones are stamped in Island Indigo. I thought that it needed a little more so I used some butterflies cut out with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit in Whisper White. All of the elements are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I needed a happy card with some brighter colors and I think this fit the bill. I have a lot to be thankful for, my friends and family that have all been great! I’m a very lucky guy and I know it.
