Create with Connie and Mary 234

Morning all! Ahh… Saturday how I love thee! I’m off to the city this morning to visit my friend Kim. We are going to the movies later to see the Life of Pi and after that maybe we’ll get some Korean food, yum! What are you all up to today? It’s supposed to be in the 50’s here and tomorrow we are supposed to get up to the 60’s! Now that’s more like it! I’m sure that it will be short lived but appreciated none the less.

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. For this week’s challenge they have given us a color challenge…

CCMC 234

A very different color combinations for me. I do love Midnight Muse and I wanted to do something a little different. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock and I stamped the leaves from the Madison Avenue Stamp Set** in Midnight Muse down the right side of the base. The background and the Pink Pirouette rounded squares are both embossed with the Vine Street Textured Impressions Embossing Folder**. The larger rounded squares under the Pink Pirouette ones are Midnight Muse. I rounded the corners with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and the Pink ones are rounded with the 3/16″ Corner Rounder. The “petals are adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the greeting I used the Bloomin’ Marvelous Stamp Set stamped in Midnight Muse and rounded all of the corners of it with the 3/16” Corner Rounder. I really like the retro modern feel of the card and I enjoyed the colors together more than I thought I would. I hope you like my Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge card for this week. Thank you for visiting me today and don’t forget to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players Color Challenge from Anne Marie. Have a adventurous day! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #68

Hello there peeps! How is everything going? My week seems long and drawn out but I guess that’s the whole work thing. LOL! When I come home and sit down to craft the evening just flies by. I wish I could just sit and craft the day away but I have to pay for all of my goodies somehow! But it’s all better today because it’s Friday! I’m off to Manhattan tomorrow to see my friend Kim, always a good time!

For today’s post I give you my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. Our challenge host is Jen M. and she has provided us with this sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches #68

I wanted to keep my card as clean and simple as possible. I started off with a base of Gumball Green Card Stock. The Very Vanilla contains some images from the Secret Garden Stamp Set. The leaves are stamped in Gumball Green and the flowers in Raspberry Ripple. I cut the flowers out with the coordinating Secret Garden Framelits Dies. For the centers I punched out some Summer Starfruit with the Itty Bitties Punch Pack and using my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker I put some dots on them. I adhered the centers to the flowers with some 2-Way Glue and the flowers to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The band across the lower half is Raspberry Ripple with some Very Vanilla. I stamped the bees from the Collage Curios Stamp Set in Summer Starfruit. Wouldn’t you know that a little stamp and punch from Sale-A-Bration snuck in there for the greeting. The stamp set is from the Petite Pretties Stamp Set** and the punch is the Petite Curly Label**. Some more Summer Starfruit for it’s color and one more Stampin’ Dimensional to keep it in place. I really do love the bold spring colors and the little bees are just awesome! I hope that you liked my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. Thank you for checking in with me today! Have an excellent day!

Stylin’ Stampin’ Squad January Blog Hop!

Blog Hop Banner January 2013

Good day to you and welcome to the January edition of the Stylin’ Stampin’ Squad Blog Hop featuring products from the Stampin’ Up! 2013 Spring Catalog. We have some great projects in store for you today! If you are following the tour you have arrived here from Terry Blais‘ blog, didn’t she have some great stuff to share with you? I have two projects for you today, a card and a box that would be great for some chocolates!

First up we have the card. The base of it is Raspberry Ripple Card Stock. The background is created with the Woodgrain Background Stamp, in Summer Starfruit, and some Whisper White Card Stock. A strip of paper from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack goes across the bottom. The flowers and leaves are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set and are cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits Dies. The leaves are stamped in Gumball Green and the flowers in Raspberry Ripple on Primrose Petals. I used the Boho Blossom Punch for the centers in Summer Starfruit and a Basic Jewel Pearl is adhered in the middle of each. The flowers are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the greeting I stamped the happy birthday from the Made for You Stamp Set in Raspberry Ripple. I love the woodgrain as a background for the flowers and the framelits make cutting them out so easy. I have a few people in mind that might like this for their birthday!

Stylin' Stampin' Blog Hop 1-10-2013

Next we have a box. It definitely would be great for some chocolates but you could also fit a host of other more “precious” gifts inside. The box measures 3 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ x 1 1/2″ and is created using Crumb Cake Card Stock and my Simply Scored Scoring Tool. To decorate the box I used the Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders with some Primrose Petals. The flags are made from pieces of More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper. For the heart I stamped the image from the You are Loved Stamp Set in Primrose Petals and cut it out with the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies. I pierced around the edge with the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool and adhered it to the box with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The love is from the same set and is stamped in Pool Party and Primrose Petals. I used the Decorative Label Punch and the Large Oval Punch to punch them out and layered them for more dimension. I still vote that we fill the box with some chocolate!

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #24

Hello everyone! So here we are at Wednesday, almost there! The weather has been much nicer around here lately. It has been in the 40’s and I think it’s supposed to go up to the 50’s over the weekend. I’m making a list of things that I want to do when it gets warmer outside. Does it show that I can’t wait for the spring?!?!

If it’s Wednesday that means it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge. This week we have a simple sketch…

PCCCS024-Sketch

I wanted to use some new products from the upcoming Sale-A-Bration promotion that starts January 22, 2013. I also haven’t tried the Creped Filter Paper that I got from the 2013 Spring Catalog so I incorporated it into this card. The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock. The background is a piece of Creped Filter Paper. I used my Glue Stick to adhere it to the card base. For the strip of Paper I used a piece from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack. The flags are Soft Suede, the bottom one has some Metallic 3/16″ Brads on it. I used the Feeling Sentimental Stamp Set** for the image and greeting. I stamped both of them in Midnight Muse and used the 2 1/2″ Circle punch to punch out the Penny Farthing. The large button is one of the Silver Basic Designer Buttons and I threaded some Whisper White Bakers Twine through the holes and left the ends long before adhering it to the card with some Mini Glue Dots. This card would be great for a masculine birthday card and I really like the texture that the Creped Filter Paper gives the background. I hope you enjoyed my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s sketch challenge. Head on over to the blog and see what the other designers have come up with and post a card of your own! Thanks, as always for taking some time to stop by and see what I’m up to. I hope that you all have a wonderful day!

One down and four more to go! How was everyone’s Monday? Mine was bearable, but just! I did have card class with my daughter last night and I always enjoy that. Valentine’s projects were last night’s focus. Some 3 x 3 cards and a box, a Pillow Box and a card. Is it wrong of me that I keep my projects because I like them?!?! If I feel the need to give one to someone I make a duplicate, I have a lot of cards! LOL!

Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. For this week Julee Tilman has provided us with this sketch…

Mojo275

I’m liking the panels on this one, I also knew as soon as I saw it what I was going to use! The base of my card is Calypso Coral Card Stock, a color I haven’t used in a while. I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. The pieces of paper are from the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper Pack. The top most one is backed by a piece of Calypso Coral. I took a piece of Early Espresso and adhered a piece of Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon to it and mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the Soda Pop Tops so that’s what I used in the middle. I stamped two images form the Collage Curios Stamp Set in So Saffron and Calypso Coral. The 1″ Circle Punch crops it out for a perfect fit in the middle of the Soda Pop Top and a Stampin’ Dimensional holds it in place. The greeting is from the My Little Valentine Stamp Set that is part of one of the Valentine’s Promotions that Stampin’ Up! is running right now. It punches out perfectly with the Small Oval Punch and a piece of Lucky Limeade, punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch, backs it nicely. One more Stampin’ Dimensional adheres it to the card. I really like the Tea for Two DSP and the Soda Pop Tops are my absolute favorite! I hope that you enjoyed my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card for this week. Thanks so much for checking in with me and I hope that you have a great day!

Splitcoast Creative Crew

Monday, Monday… back so soon I see! How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was pretty good. I didn’t get all of my projects done but I did get most of them. The weather was very nice here yesterday and I can sense the extra minutes of daylight we are getting each day on way back to glorious spring!

Today I’m posting two cards that I made for the Creative Crew over on Splitcoast. They kindly asked me if I would be a part of the crew for the next four months and I happily agreed. You can visit the challenge gallery here and upload your own cards. They also have a scrapbook challenge which I didn’t do this month but I will give a go next month!

My first card is all about Designer Series Paper. The challenge is to use a favorite designer series paper and convince you to love it too. The base of the card is Not Quite Navy Card Stock and the background is a simple piece of Very Vanilla. The vest is made from Parker’s Patterns Designer Series Paper. It is just a rectangle that I cut a “v” in and used the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch to make the arm holes. The bowtie is from the Dapper Dad Stamp Set and is stamped in Sahara Sand and the greeting is form the the Apothecary Art Stamp Set and is stamped in Not Quite Navy. What vest would be complete without some Naturals Designer Buttons?! It’s a really simple card and would also make a great Father’s Day card. I really do love the DSP, it’s got some nice masculine patterns and bold colors in it too!

CCREW0113DF

The second card is all about SIP… stamps, ink and paper and that’s all I used on it. The base of the card is Rose Red Card Stock. Across the lower half is a piece of Very Vanilla that I stamped with the chevron stamps from the Oh, Hello Stamp Set in Rose Red and Pretty in Pink. The main panels also has images stamped from the Oh, Hello Stamp Set. The flowers are stamped in Rose Red and Pretty in Pink and the greeting in Rose Red. I backed it wait a piece of Pretty in Pink before adhering it to the card with SNAIL. Super simple, no Big Shot, no Punches just SIP!

CCREW0113CF

There is also a third card that I made but I think you can take a look at that one when you go and check out the gallery! I hope that you enjoyed my first two cards for the Splitcoast Creative Crew. Thank you so much for stopping by and don’t forget to enter your card in this weeks “Love is in the Air” challenge from Ann over at the Paper Players! Have a very nice day!

Paper Players #127 :-)

A very good Sunday morning to you all! I had a nice day yesterday. Taylor and I both got much needed haircuts, we went to lunch with my friend Louis at Panera (a favorite of mine). After lunch went to MJM Shoes and Taylor and I both got Vans sneakers for $12.99! The bargains didn’t stop there, I went to the Gap later on with my friend Heather and got jeans for $11.59 and a winter coat for $35.68! I love a good bargain!

Today is an especially good day for me as I start my Guest Designer term with the Paper Players! I have been playing along with them for over a while and have enjoyed every one of their challenges. They are a talented group and I always look forward to seeing what wonderful creations they come up with. For the first challenge of the New Year Ann has given us a “Love is in the Air” challenge…

Paper Players 127 1-06-2013

A great challenge to give you a head start on your Valentine’s cards! And who doesn’t like a little romance?!?! My card starts off with a base of Pool Party Card Stock that I stamped in Pool Party with the Netting Background Stamp. Across the bottom is a piece of Primrose Petals that I embossed with the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. For the top I used the Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set and Hearts a Flutter Framelits that I used to cut out the flags that are stamped in Primrose Petals. The greeting is from the Delightful Dozen Stamp Set and is also stamped in Primrose Petals and I cut it out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. In the middle of the card is a piece of Real Red that I cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies. The edge is pierced using the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. On top of that is a piece of Pool Party that I cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit and The heart image on top of that is also from the Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals and cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies. I mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the final piece I used the Pinwheel Sizzlits Die to cut out a piece of More Amore Specialty Designer Series paper and a 1/8″ Silver Mini Brad to hold it together. A Stampin’ Dimensionals adheres it to the card. I love all of the new products from the 2013 Spring Catalog and they go so well with the items from the 2012-2013 Annual Catalog. I hope that you enjoyed my Valentine’s card for this weeks Paper Players “Love is in the Air” challenge form Ann. Head on over to the blog and see what wonderful creations the other designers have come up with and post a card of yours while you’re there! Thanks for checking in with me today and I hope that you have an enjoyable Sunday!

Fab Friday 09 & Sneak Peek

Happy Saturday! I have a ton of projects to get done this weekend, let’s see if I’m successful in my endeavor! What kind of fun stuff are all of you up this weekend? I’m super excited that I start my Guest Designer position with the Paper Players tomorrow! As promised I have a little sneak peek of my card…

Paper Players GD Love #127 - Version 2

Since the 2013 Spring Catalog is out now I think you need some more peeks at the Sale-A-Bration goodies! Today’s card, for Fab Friday, features two stamp sets from it and a punch. 🙂

The base of my card is a piece of Summer Starfruit Card Stock. The background is created with a piece of Bravo Burgundy and the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. For the greeting I used the Vintage Verses Stamp Set** and stamped it in Bravo Burgundy. I did the scored scallop and dots using the new Simply Scored Borders Scoring Plate. I like the way that you have all of the different ones to choose from and the clear guide makes it easy to use. Before adhering the greeting panel to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals I rounded the two top corners with the 1/2″ Circle Punch. The little hellos are from the Pretty Petites Stamp Set**. I stmped them in Summer Starfruit and punched them out with the Petite Curly Label Punch**. They are also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I think that the Summer Starfruit and Bravo Burgundy work quite well together and I love the Vintage Verses! I hope that you enjoyed my Fab Friday card and my little peek at my Paper Players Design Team card! Have a great day! 🙂

Create with Connie and Mary Sketch 233

I’m not even going to say it, I say it every week. Oh, well, maybe just once… it’s FRIDAY! Woo hoo! LOL! I’m sure that most of you feel the same way about Friday as I do. It was a short week but seemed long for some reason. I’m looking forward to finishing up a lot of outstanding projects this weekend. My second 2013 Spring Catalog order will be here later with some more goodies form the Clearance Rack, I’m looking forward to playing with them too. I also got myself a new toy for Christmas and I haven’t gotten to use it yet but I will this weekend. I’ll tell you more about that when I get some stuff done with it. Ahh, I love crafting, does it show?!?!

Now for today’s post which is for my friends over at Create with Connie and Mary. This week we have a cool sketch to work with…

CCMC 233

Do you see it? A flag! 🙂 My card starts off with a base of Sahara Sand Card Stock that I stamped in Sahara Sand with the Netting Background Stamp. I find myself using Sahara Sand a lot more lately and I keep reaching for it instead of Crumb Cake for a neutral. The flagged piece of paper is from the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper Pack. My color choices are influenced by the little poem that is in the By the Tide Stamp Set. It says “Pink shells, white shells and shells colored blue; smooth shells, crinkled shells, old shells and new; striped shells and plain shells left by the tide; my shell is magic – the sea sings inside.” So I went with Pretty in Pink and Bashful Blue with some Sahara Sand to stamp the poem three times. I used the same colors for the shells and cut them out with my Paper Snips. They are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the greeting, that is stamped in Sahara Sand from the Made for You Stamp Set, is adhered with the same. I love the layout and who does’t like some sea shells. With a color change or a greeting change this would be a great birthday or thinking of you card. I hope that you are inspired by this week’s Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge card. Thanks for stopping by today. Tomorrow I’ll have a sneak peek at my first Guest Designer card for the Paper Players! Have a fun Friday!

Freshly Made Sketchs #67

Happy Thursday! Thursday already, I do love a short week. Maybe we could petition to have every Tuesday off, might as well add Monday to that too! Ahh… I believe that’s what they call wishful thinking! LOL! How are you all doing today? I’m getting happier because we are almost at Friday. It was a quiet day yesterday, definitely on the frigid side! It’s supposed to be cold here for a couple more days. I really can’t wait for the warm weather. How is the weather by you? 🙂

FYI… today is the first day that you can order form the new 2013 Spring Catalog!! I hope that all of my sneak peeks have inspired you! Now for today’s post that is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. This week we have a sketch from Jennifer T….

Freshly Made Sketches #67

When I saw the hearts on the sketch I of course immediately thought Valentine’s Day. I looked at it a little longer and decided not to go with that although the greeting does come from a Valentine’s set! The base of my card is Sahara Sand Card Stock. I cut the bottom edge off of a piece of Raspberry Ripple with the Large Scallop Edgelit Die. The greeting is stamped in Basic Black and is form the You Are Loved Stamp Set. A strip of Basic Black is adhered across under the greeting with some 2-Way Glue. The large image is stamped in Raspberry Ripple from the Quint-essntial Flower Single Wood Mount Stamp. I used the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch to punch it out and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. The two circles are from the Circle Circus Stamp Set and are stamped in Basic Black and Sahara Sand. The black one is punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch and the sand one with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them in place. I thought about adding some pearls or rhinestones but I really like the simplicity of the card. I’m also loving the color combination! I hope that you like this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge card. Thank you, as always for taking some time to see me today and for your comments. I appreciate it! Have a great day! 🙂
