Paper Players #130 :-)

Brrrr! A chilly good Sunday morning to you! I don’t think it has gotten above freezing in over a week here. I am in desperate need of some warm weather! To all of my friends in Australia, please send some of you heat this way! I did have a very nice day yesterday, despite the cold. I went to Heather’s for a super delicious breakfast, then went to Target and then over to see Brian, Kim and the kiddies. I came home and crafted for a bit and picked up Taylor for some quality dad-daughter time. This morning I’m off to Manhattan to see some friends. I better make sure I bundle up!

If it’s Sunday that means it’s time for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. First, congratulations to Nicole for her Bee-autiful card, it made her my Cut Above for last week’s challenge! This week the lovely LeAnne has provided us with this nice sketch…

Paper Players 130 2-03-2013

I had an idea as to what I wanted to do as soon as I saw it. The base of my card is Basic Gray Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Cherry Cobbler with the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. The Whisper White panel is stamped with the Spec-Tacular Single Stamp in Basic Gray and I used the 3/16″ Corner rounder to round the corners. A piece of Silver Glimmer Paper takes the place of a ribbon across the bottom. The greeting is form the Dude, You’re Welcome Kit and is stamped in Basic Gray. I again rounded the corners and punched a piece of Red Glimmer Paper out with the Small Heart Punch to fill in the blank. I think this would be a great guy’s Valentine’s Day card or just a fun love card for anyone. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Players Sketch Challenge from LeAnne. Thanks very much for spending some time with me today! I hope you have a nice cozy Sunday.

    1. Thank you Ann! The eyeglass stamp is great! I look forward to seeing what you come up with! I had to get the Dude Set because real men stamp! LOL! Have a great week! πŸ™‚

  1. This is such a cool card. Wish we had the glasses stamp here in New Zealand. Maybe you should bring it down to NZ – it’s lovely and sunny today and about 78F. TFS

    1. Thanks Paula! It is a really cool stamp! I would be delighted to bring it to sunny New Zealand! Now just to find the airfare! πŸ˜‰

  2. Well here is a different kind of card. You have managed that sketch very well and I like your touch of glimmer there. I think I would find this kit hard to work with! We have just come through a huge weather event – over thirty inches of rain, mini tornadoes and gale force winds. Now there are major floods in our area. The river is higher than in 1942 and may break the 1890 record as well.

    1. Thanks Jean! I actually really like the images in the Dude Set. It needed some sparkle! I have seen on the news and my friend Carolyn has been telling me how bad the rain is over there. 30 inches of rain is a lot! I’m glad that you are ok and I hope that things get better soon. πŸ™‚

  3. DUDE! This is awesome! Seriously love seeing the new stamp and how you’ve used it with this sketch….perfect ef, too!

  4. Justin, you need to head on down to Texas! It has been unseasonably warm over the past couple of days…in the 80’s. It is almost TOO much, so if you want to trade places, just say the word. This native New Yorker misses snow dearly! Let’s talk about this card, dude! Love the glasses and the pops of sparkle you added. That eyeglass stamp just made it’s way to my wish list. Thanks for the enabling once again! πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks Anne Marie! I am not a fan of the winter so I’ll do a swap anytime you want to!

I really like the Glasses Stamp a lot! Glad you enjoyed the card! Have a great week! πŸ™‚
