Mojo 291 & Sneak Peek

Morning and welcome to thank god Monday is over! That was not the best day in recent memory. It was a little dreary here and rained a little on and off all day. Not much else went on, it was definitely a Monday. Oh, don’t forget that today is the last day to order the Sent with Love Stamp Set and Designer Series Paper.

Today’s post – Mojo Monday 291, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

Mojo291

We won’t even mention the round or square! The base of my card is Early Espresso and the background is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe* that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, no tabs. The paper is from the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper Pack* which I am loving! Some Early Espresso and Soft Sky cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits and one paper-pierced are up next. The images are from the Postage Collection Stamp Set*, it’s like a build your own postage stamp set. Love it! There are so many great new goodies in the catalog I can’t wait for you to see it! If you need one let me know, I’ll send you one as soon as I get them. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. Thank you very much for your time and I hope your day is a great one.

Artisan Butterfly Poppy Thanks

Monday… here we go again! How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was was very nice. Yesterday I crafted and had some lunch with my friend Maureen and the child. I did a little errand running and some laundry. It was a beautiful day here yesterday too, sunny and warm. A pretty good day all around I must say.

Every once in a while I rummage through my scrap pile (which is quite large) and see if I can use anything in there to make a card. Well, today that’s how this card started. I had the base with the Print Poetry Stack Designer Series Paper on it and I went from there. I markered the the Pleasant Poppies Background Stamp in Calypso Coral and Gumball Green and backed it with some Gumball Green. The butterfly is form the Best of Butterflies 25th Anniversary Stamp Set. The greeting is backed with a stamp from the Lovely Labels Stamp Set*, punched out with the Artisan Label Punch*, the middle is from the A Fitting Occasion Stamp Set. Some ribbon and a new Very Vintage Designer Button* with some Bakers Twine finishes off the card. I hope you enjoyed my scrap pile inspired card for today. Thanks so much for surfing on in and I hope you have a good day! 🙂

Paper Players #143 :-)

Hello and happy Sunday! How is the weekend so far? Mine is great! I had a lovely day in Manhattan with my friend Kim yesterday. We had Starbucks for breakfast and then headed downtown. A stop at the Roasting Plant Coffee shop (I really drink a lot of coffee, about 6 – 8 cups a day!) and then later on some delicious Mediterranean food just like I wanted. As an added bonus I got to drive home with the top down, I didn’t even mind the traffic! I love a Saturday like that! Since today is Sunday that means it’s time for the Paper Players!

Today’s card – Paper Players #143, a sketch from Ann…

Paper Players 143 Sketch 4-28-2013

I finally got to play with some of my new goodies last night and this is what I came up with. The base of my card is Summer Starfruit. A strip of Soho Subway Designer Series Paper* is backed with some Early Espresso and goes across the middle. The flagged pieces are Early Espresso, Island Indigo and Crisp Cantaloupe*. A piece of Soft Sky* and a piece of Very Vanilla are cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits and the Soft Sky one is pierced around the edge. The main greeting is from the Make a Wish Stamp set, the happy birthday is from the Label Love Stamp Set* and is punched out with the Artisan Label Punch*. I’m loving the new products so far and hope you are enjoying your sneak peek. Thank you for stopping by today to see my Paper Players Guest Designer card for Sketch #143 from Ann. Head on over to the blog to see what my fellow designers have come up with and don’t forget to make one of your own creations to upload to the gallery. Have a great day!

Create with Connie and Mary 249

Hello and welcome to Saturday! I had a very nice dinner last night with my friends. We had a lot of laughs and some amazing dessert! It had peanut butter, chocolate  and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups! YUM! I’m off to Manhattan this morning to see my friend Kim and wander around and try to walk off last nights dinner. LOL! What’s on the agenda for you today?

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary Sketch 249…

CCMC 249

I wanted to use some more of my Sent with Love DSP before it goes away in just three short days! The base of my card is Island Indigo. The three pieces of paper are from the Sent with Love Designer Series Paper Pack. Across the middle is some Island Indigo Ribbon from Sale-A-Bration backed with some Pool Party. The greeting and image are from the Bombs Away Birthday Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits dies and the “bomb” is cut out with my Paper Snips. A 2011-2012 In-Color Printed Brad finishes off the card. I hope that you enjoyed my Create with Connie and Mary Sketch card for this week’s challenge. Thank you for checking in and have a great Saturday!

Happy Friday!! Woo hoo!! I loves me some Friday! I’m so glad that the week is over. I’m also super happy that I get my new catalog pre-order goodies later. It’s also my friend Anthony’s birthday tomorrow and we will be headed out to Ruby Tuesday’s for dinner later. I’m going to be mean and make them sing to him! LOL! Tomorrow morning I’m off to Manhattan to see my buddy Kim. It’s supposed to be nice so we are going to wander around and hopefully get some Mediterranean food for lunch. Yum!

Today’s post – Fab Friday 17 sketch…

Fab Fri 17 Sketch 4-25-2013

I do love a tag as we all know and the flagged piece is an added bonus! The base of my card is Island Indigo and the paper for the background and the panel is from the World Spectacular Designer Series Paper Pack. The stamped images are all form the You’re Amazing Stamp Set except for Friend which is from the Family Reunion Stamp Set. The tag is created with my Simply Scored and I used a Sponge Dauber with Island Indigo to ink up the edges. Some tiny staples hold the little tickets to the panel and the brad is a “Vintage” Star Brad. I love the World Spectacular Product suite and am happy that the stamp set carried over. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge. Stop by the blog to see what the other designers have come up with and don’t forget create your own and upload it to the gallery. Freshly Made Sketches #83

Good day! How are you doing? I’m ok, that was a long day yesterday. I got about 4 1/2 hours of sleep and I’m pooped! That means I can play over the weekend. I can’t wait! There is so much in the new catalog that I love, I will miss the retiring supplies and stamp sets but it happens every year and I’m used to it by now.

I’m really liking the Epic Day This and That products. They have some great colors and patterns. The base of my card is Crumb Cake with a piece of Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper for the background. Across the middle is a piece of Whisper White with some Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon. Some Basic Gray is embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped off the words on a diagonal from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set in Crumb Cake. The butterflies are from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and are punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. I used my Bone Folder and the Stampin’ Pierce Mat to curve the wings. Today’s card – Paper Craft Crew Design Team Sketch #39…

PCCCS039 Sketch Mother's Day 4-24-2013

There is a theme to go along with this one too, Mother’s Day. The base of my card is Early Espresso and the background is a piece of Tea for Two Designer Series Paper. Another piece of the DSP is backed with some So Saffron across the middle. Some Pretty in Pink is punched out with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. The stamped image is from the Best of Flowers Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black and colored in with my Stampin’ Write Markers. For the greeting I inked up a stamp from the Family Reunion Stamp Set in Early Espresso and punched it out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch and backed with a piece of Calypso Coral punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. A Vintage Brad completes the card. I hope that you like my Design Team card Mother’s Day card fro this weeks Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge. Mojo 290

Well, I see we all made through Monday in one piece, and that’s always a good thing! My Monday was on the quiet side, how about you? So tomorrow holds a little excitement for us Stampin’ Up! Demos, we get to see the brand new 2013-2014 Catalog! It promises to be amazing as always with some old and some new goodies to help us express our creativity and Make Something that Means Something! I can’t wait!!

Today’s card – Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 290, a sketch from Carole Burrage…

Mojo290

I wanted a simple card with a nice focal point of stamping. The base of my card is Primrose Petals  and the background is a piece of Very Vanilla. The bottom half has some paper from the More Amore Designer Series Paper Pack. The stamped images are from the Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set, the flowers are Two-Step Stamped in Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple and the leaves in Gumball Green and Garden Green. I used my Simply Scored to create the lines and rubbed some Crumb Cake on them to give them some definition. Some Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon goes across the middle and I fussy cut a set of the leaves and used a Naturals Designer Button with some Linen Thread on top. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is punched out with the Word Window Punch. I hope you enjoyed your little visit with my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge Card. Thank you for coming to see what I’m up to and I hope you have a great day!

Pals Paper Arts 157

As always the weekend just flew by. It was a good weekend though. My daughter was here with me all weekend and I got some projects finished. Lots of running around too! Busy but good. How about you? Did you do anything crafty this weekend? I’m hoping this week goes nice and smoothly, we’ll see! Before I get to today’s post I wanted to thank Dawn for choosing my card in the last Pals Paper Arts challenge! In some more cool news my Especially for You card for the Control Freaks April Blog Tour is a Clean and Simple Favorite over on SplitCoast Stampers!!

Today’s post – Pals Paper Arts 157 a sketch from Margaret Moody…

PPA 157

I did a card with a frame last week and I really liked the way it turned out so I decided to incorporate another one in today’s card. The base of my card is Real Red and the background and all of the paper is from the Sent with Love Designer Series Paper Pack. The frame is created using the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies and is also used to cut out the background which is embossed with the Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped the plane, from the Sent with Lover Stamp Set, in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it using Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Some fussy cutting and Stampin’ Dimensionals later and the frame is done. The greeting is from the same set and finishes off the card. I hope that you enjoyed my Pals Paper Arts Card for the sketch challenge. Thank  you for spending some quality time with me today. I hope your Monday is painless!

Paper Players #142 :-)

Good day everyone. Sunday, I love you because you are part of the weekend but you also mean that the weekend is almost over. Sigh. Anyway, how is your weekend so far? Mine is pretty good. It was relatively nice here yesterday, got a haircut, had some lunch, had some 16 Handles! I also got some crafting done which always makes me happy! It’s Sunday so that means it’s Paper Players time!

Today’s post – Paper Players #142, a CAS single layer card from Jaydee…

Paper Players 142 One Layer 4-21-2013

A single layer card can be fun, but also challenging. It really is nice to just use some stamps and ink to create a card, but embellishments are fun too. There are ways to give it a little depth as I did on my card. The base of the card is Whisper White. The images are from the Oh, Hello! Stamp Set. The Thanks is stamped once in Crumb Cake and again in Midnight Muse to give it a shadow effect. The Stamp-a-ma-jig makes it easy to do. The water spots are from the first Paper Pumpkin Kit and are stamped off once. CAS and only one layer! I hope that you enjoyed my Paper Players One Layer Card for this week’s challenge from Jaydee and that you are inspired to create your own. You can see what the rest of my fellow designers have for you by visiting the blog. Don’t forget to enter one of your cards in the gallery. You could be next week’s Cut Above or even Make the Headlines! Thank you for visiting with me and I hope that you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
