Now on to today’s post which is my Fab Friday Design Team card. This time we have a rather neat sketch…

Fab Fri 19 Sketch 5-31-2013

This was one of those ones that I knew what I was going to use as soon as I saw it! Love when that happens! The base of my card is Island Indigo Card Stock. I used a piece of paper from the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper Pack and backed it with some Gumball Green. The circle is punched out from the 2 1/2″ Circle punch and backed with some Early Espresso. I choose the images form the Fine Feathers Stamp Set and stamped them in Island Indigo and Gumball Green. The greeting is from the Oh, Hello! Stamp Set and is flagged and backed by some Early Espresso. A few Stampin’ Dimensionals give it a little pop. I love the Island Indigo and Gumball Green together. I think the Gumball tones down the Indigo while the Indigo gives the gumball some oomph. Thank you very much for stopping by to see my Design Team card for the sketch from Fab Friday. Head on over to the blog to see the other designers work and enter your card so you can be a Fab Fave! Enjoy your Friday and don’t forget to place your orders!!

Freshly Made Sketches #88

Hey, hey! Welcome to Thursday! Yesterday was a nice day here, a little muggy but warm and sunny. One of my co-workers told me that it was always nice to see me because I’m always smiling and genuinely nice. I thought that was a very cool impression to give to people and it was very nice to be told something so sweet. Sometimes a nice comment can make your day even brighter!

Today’s post – Freshly Made Sketches #88 from Jen M….

Freshly Made Sketches #88

Sweet and simple! The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I used a piece of Epic Day This & That Designer Series Paper across the lower half. The middle panel is made up of a piece of Very Vanilla that I punched the left edge of with the “Vintage” Spiral Border Punch. A sticker from the Epic Day This & That Sticker Sheets is in the middle and I also used one that I backed with some Very Vanilla on the top. The greeting is from the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set* and is stamped in Calypso Coral and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. I made a larger ticket to back it using the 1/2″ Circle Punch. I like the simple layout and I love the Epic Day goodies. Thank you for stopping by to see my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. One more day and it’s Friday so make today a good one!

Paper Craft Crew #44 & Sneak Peek

Well, Wednesday already, that’s pretty nice! I think every Monday should be a holiday! How are things by you? Things here are good, it rained all afternoon today but we are moving along to a heat wave for the rest of the week. We are supposed to get up into the 90’s by Friday. Once again no real buffer between the seasons. It felt like October here on Saturday and a week later we are in Florida!

Today’s post – Paper Craft Crew Design Team Sketch #44…

PCCCS044 Sketch Theme FD 5-29-2013

A cute little sketch that at first I thought a window would be a good way to go but that was too obvious. The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock. The background is a piece of Raspberry Ripple that I stamped with the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Raspberry Ripple. The next layer is some Soft Suede that is embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and backed with some Very Vanilla. All of the images that are punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch are from the new Postage Collection Host(ess) Stamp Set* (can you tell it’s one of my favorites?!). Across the bottom is some paper from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack with some Raspberry Ripple 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and fits with the theme of Father’s Day for this week’s sketch. I really am quite fond of the Postage Collection Set* and I’m loving the colors! Thank you for stopping by to see my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s sketch. I hope you’ll take some time to check out what the other designers have for you over at the blog and upload a card of your own so wee can take a peek. Enjoy your Wednesday everyone! 🙂

Memorable Apothecary Thoughts Special Occasion

Hello there! Even though the weekend was a three day one for me it still seemed to fly. I did get a lot accomplished and spent some time relaxing and seeing friends. I got to watch the two little munchkins Izzy and Savannah yesterday and then went back over for a BBQ in the afternoon. It was a beautiful day here, not too hot and nice and sunny. All in all a very nice weekend indeed. Now if only we could get a three day weekend every week! LOL!

Today I have a card and frame that I made for a friend at work. It’s his parent’s 60th wedding anniversary. Wow! 60 years together, that’s quite an incredible feat. He asked if I could make him a card for them, he said that he hear that I made nice cards. I said that I would be happy to. I also got to scan in their wedding album and there was this photo that I saw and I knew that I wanted to do something to it. I knew just what I was going to do too.

For the card I started with a base of Crisp Cantaloupe Card Stock and rounded the bottom corners. The stamped image is from the Apothecary Art Stamp Set and is stamped three times, once in Costal Cabana*, again in Crisp Cantaloupe* and one more time in Smokey Slate*. The Costal Cabana* one is cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies and backed with a piece of Brushed Silver Specialty Card Stock. For the Crisp Cantaloupe* one I fussy cut the wreath out and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Smokey Slate* is just the banner and I heat embossed the greeting from Loving Thoughts Stamp Set with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered it with more Dimensionals. The 60th is from the Memorable Moments Stamp Set and is stamped in Costal Cabana* and fussy cut too. Some Basic Jewels Rhinestones finish the card.

RSB Parent's Anniv Card 2013

The frame has an antiqued silver finish. I printed the photo out on photo paper and then printed it again and just cut out the invitation. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals pop up the invitation to give it some depth. The flowers are just simple ribbon flowers that I picked up at the craft store and individually glued them to the picture. They matched the flowers that were in his mother’s bouquet perfectly. I thought it was a nice way to give the picture some added depth and sentimental value. Below is the whole frame and a close up of the flowers.

The person asked me how much I wanted for the card and I said let it be my gift to your parents. He said that my gift was being kind enough to share my talent with others. I can’t explain how great that made me feel. He really like the card and the frame. I was very to happy to have been able to make such an important card, one that I probably won’t get to make again. I hope that you enjoyed seeing both of the projects and that you are inspired to do something a little different once in a while, it can be a lot of fun! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Mojo 295 & Sneak Peek

Holiday Monday morning! It’s a beautiful day here on Long Island, sunny and not too hot. There are parades and BBQ’s scheduled for today, lots of fun for a Monday! I’m off to watch the munchkins for a little while then some crafting and outside time! What are you all doing today? Some people, like my friend Julie, have to work but most have off. Hopefully there is fun ahead in your day!

Today’s post – Mojo Monday 295, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

Mojo295

A nice simple sketch indeed! My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. I used a plain piece of Daffodil Delight for the background. The lower piece of paper is from the Brights Collection Designer Series Paper Pack and the other is from the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack*. I choose the greeting from the Word Play Stamp Set, trying to get a little more use out if before it becomes “Vintage”! It’s stamped in Island Indigo and backed with some Strawberry Slush*. The flag is stamped with an image from the Mosaic Madness Stamp Set*. I finally played with some of the new Simply Pressed Clay Buttons & Blossoms Moulds* and Simply Pressed Clay* yesterday. After some trial and error I find that putting them in the freezer for about and hour and removing them to dry works better than leaving them in the whole time. I used my Aqua Painter and some Pool Party Ink to color it. I really like the ability to make the clay any color that you like and it’s so nice and lightweight that mailing it should be no problem. Thank you very much for coming by on this holiday Monday to see my Mojo Monday sketch challenge card. I hope that you enjoyed it and that you are going to have a great day! 🙂

Paper Players #147 :-) & Sneak Peek

Good Sunday to you! How is your weekend going so far? Mine is pretty good despite the rainy and cold weather we had yesterday. I did spend most of the day crafting, I have a lot of projects to do and I would like to get a little bit ahead. I did make some progress so I’ll continue on today. What is going on on by you?

It’s Sunday and that means it’s time to play with the Paper Players! This week we have a sketch from the talented LeAnne…

Paper Players #147 Sketch 5-26-2013

A very different sketch from any that I have seen recently so this was fun! The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. The paper rectangles are all from the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper Pack*. They have some great distressed and fun patterns in there. The greeting is form the Best of Birthdays Stamp Set and is stamped in Summer Starfruit and Early Espresso. I cut out the Birthday and popped it up on some Stampin’ Dimensionals on the other one that is punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. They are backed with a piece of Island Indigo that I cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. Not an overly complicated card but the DSP really gives it some oomph! Thank you very much for stopping by to see my Guest Designer card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from LeAnne. Be sure to visit the Paper Players blog and see what my fellow creative team mates have come up with and enter yours in the gallery to play along. I hope that you have some crafty time and enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Create with Connie and Mary 253 & Sneak Peek

It’s the weekend people, a three day weekend! It’s going to be rainy and dreary today so I will be crafting the day away. What are you all up to? Any BBQ’s and gatherings going on? It is supposed to be miserable until Sunday Evening but Monday is supposed to be nice so I’ll be sure and make plans to get out of the house on Monday.

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary, Sketch 253…

CCMC 253

Now that is an awesome sketch! CAS and some flags! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White for the background. I stamped the greeting from the A Word for You Stamp Set in Strawberry Slush* before I embossed it. The piece of paper is from the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack* and a piece of Daffodil Delight is on top of that with some Whisper White 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon. The circles are from the Circle Circus Stamp Set and are stamped in Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Pool Party and Strawberry Slush*. I love the all white background with the pop of colors. The embossed background gives it some interest while keeping it simple. Thank you, as always, for stopping by to see my Create with Connie and Mary card for this week’s sketch. Have a great Saturday and I’ll see you here tomorrow for my Paper Players Design Team card!

They have also moved some colors to different families and of course they are retiring some colors. Mojo 294

I’m a little happier than usual today and we all know why… it’s Friday! Three day weekend Friday! I have a serious amount of crafting to get done this weekend and it’s just as well seeing as it’s supposed to rain through to Sunday. What are you all up to this weekend? I had dinner in Manhattan last night and it worked out great. It didn’t rain until we got to the restaurant and it had stopped by the time we left. We also stopped in Brooklyn to see my friend Brian on the way home. All in all, a great evening!

Today’s post – Mojo Monday 294, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

Some Photopolymer and Paper Pumpkin helped out with this card. The base of the card is Basic Gray Card Stock and the paper is from the Epic Day this & That Designer Series Paper Pack. I used the Large Scallop Edgelit for the piece of Calypso Coral along the bottom and across the top is some Pool Party 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon. The greeting and the dots are from the Paper Pumpkin Stamp Sets and the Thank You is from the Essentials Stamp Set. For the three arrows and the flag I used the Show & Tell 1 & 2 Photopolymer Stamp Sets. The flag is in a Soda Pop Top, boy am I going to miss them! I think the Photopolymer sets make great additions to any card and the Paper Pumpkin stamps are great for so much too. Thank you for stopping by to see my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card and have a great day! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #87 & Sneak Peek

Well, fancy seeing you here! LOL! So nice to have you stop by! How are you today? I’m doing well, getting ready for my three day weekend and with any luck we’ll get out of work a little early on Friday. The weather here yesterday was overcast and muggy and we are supposed to get some rain today and tomorrow. I’m planning on heading into Manhattan tonight with my friend Heather to go and have dinner with my friend Kim. I’m hoping the rain isn’t as bad as they say it’s going to be. Fingers crossed!

Super clean and simple, liking this one a lot! The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I stamped the Hello, Doily Stamp in Gumball Green off the right edge. The strip of paper is from the Epic Day This & That Designer Series Paper Pack*. The stamps are all from the Postage Collection Host(ess) Stamp Set*. The two stamps are punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch and the friend is punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. I like the way the Hello, Doily Stamp goes with the DSP and the colors are great! Thank you for taking some time out of your day to stop by and see my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. Here’s to wishing you a wonderful day!

Paper Craft Crew #43 & Sneak Peek

Yeah, it’s Wednesday and that means we are halfway there to a three day weekend! I completely forgot that Monday is a holiday! What a nice surprise that was when I remembered! When I woke up yesterday morning it was really foggy and then it went up to 85 degrees with some mugginess. I’m not complaining but I did leave the windows open in my house and when I got home everything had a thin coating of pollen. After I Swiffered the cloth was green! It really is amazing how much of that stuff there is around!

Today’s post – Paper Craft Crew Design Team Sketch #43…

PCCCS043 Sketch 5-22-2013

I’m really having such a good time with the new stuff! It’s so much fun to see what works with what. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. The middle panel consist of some Soho Subway Designer Series Paper*, Crisp Cantaloupe* and Early Espresso. I stamped the image from the Flowering Flourishes Stamp Set in Crisp Cantaloupe*, I thought it slightly mimicked the pattern in the DSP. Some Early Espresso Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon goes around the lower half. A piece Vellum that is cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit is behind a Window Frames Collection Framelit. The greeting is from the Label Love Stamp Set* and is punched out with the Artisan Label Punch* and is backed by a piece of Early Espresso cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits. The button is a new Very Vintage Designer Button* that I threaded some Early Espresso Bakers Twine all around the edge. I really like the colors and the layering of the Framelits and Punch are kind of neat too. Thanks you for stopping by to visit me and see my Paper Craft Crew Design Team Card for this week’s sketch. Visit the Paper Craft Crew blog to see what my teammates have come up with and enter your card too! Have a great day!
