Control Freaks June Blog Tour

freakwelcome

Hello peeps, how is your day going so far? Mine is going well. I’m very happy that it’s time for the June Control Freaks Blog Tour!! This month we are featuring products from the new 2013-2014 Catalog. If you are following the tour you have arrived here from the very clever LeeAnn Greff’s blog. Now they were some awesome projects! There are so many great new stamps and accessories I didn’t know where to begin! I have two cards and a 3D project to share with you so lets get to them.

The first card uses an eclectic mix of new goodies. The base of the card is Real Red Card Stock and the background and the piece of paper in the frame are from the I Am Me Designer Series Paper Pack. I used the new Filmstrip Stamp, stamped in Basic Gray, on top of the background. In the lower left I used one of the images from the Six Sided Sampler Stamp Set stamped in Calypso Coral. I created the frame from Whisper White and cut out the center of the frame with the Squares Collection Framelits Dies. The greeting on the top is from last month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit and the date stamp is the Epic Day This and That Rotary Stamp. I stamped the bird from the Morning Meadow Host(ess) Stamp Set and cut it out with my Paper Snips. The butterfly is from the Papillion Potpourri Stamp Set and is punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. Some of the new fun Candy Dots are placed randomly on the card to finish it off. A fun trendy card that uses lots of new goodies!

Control Freaks June Tour Card 1

The second card is a newer style of card called Freestyle Collage and I got the idea from Pinterest. The base is Whisper White Card Stock. I cut the tag and the flag from some of the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper. The frame is made the same way as the first one, using the Squares Collection Framelits and some Pear Pizzaz. The leaves of flower are Creped Filter Paper that I colored with my Sponge Dauber and Melon Mambo Ink. I used my Paper Snips to cut them out and they are adhered behind a Simply Presses Clay Flower that I colored with my Aqua Painter and Night of Navy Ink. In between is some Linen Thread for a little texture. The celebrate is from the Sketched Birthday Stamp Set and is cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. The you is from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and is punched out with the Little Labels Punch Pack. A very eclectic mix of styles and texture but I think it works. I love that Stampin’ Up! products lend themselves to so many different styles.

Control Freaks June Tour Card 2

The last project I have for you is made with one of the new Tag a Bag Gift Boxes. The tag is made from Very Vanilla Card Stock and is flagged on the bottom and the top is rounded with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I stamped the & from the Hello, Lovely Stamp Set and the For You is form the Bitty Banners Stamp Set and is cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. For the flower I used the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch with some Crisp Cantaloupe, they are cut halfway up and some hot glue is used to assemble it. A Very Vintage Designer button is in the middle. One of the mini clothespins from the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit holds some 7/16″ Natural Trim and Linen Thread to the tag and box. The belly band is Crisp Cantaloupe and the greeting is also from the Hello, Lovely Stamp Set. I used my Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding Stampin’ Write Markers to color in the stamp and punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch. It’s a perfect box to give some cookies to someone special in. 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 47

Happy Wednesday peeps! Half way there to my Friday! I’m a little bummed because my friend Danielle, who I work with, went to Vegas this morning and won’t be back until next week. Work is going to be a little lonely for the next few days. It was warm and muggy here yesterday and then rained in the evening. I think we are supposed to get a stretch of some nice weather so that will be good. Not that I mind the rain, it just means more crafty time! LOL!

Today’s post – Paper Craft Crew Design Team Sketch 47…

PCCCS047-6-19-2013

I was a little puzzled when I saw this sketch, but after letting it percolate for a bit the card took shape. The base of my card is Basic Gray Card Stock. The lower half of the background is Pool Party and the top is a piece from the I Am Me Designer Series Paper Pack. I trimmed a Tea Lace Paper Doily in half for the backing of my sentiment which is from the Four You Stamp Set. I stamped it in Real Red ink on half of a piece of Whisper White that I punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and pierced the edge with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack. Two flagged pieces of Real Red and So Saffron go on before the doily and I used a piece of adhesive cork sheet across the top. A “Vintage” Brights Basic Designer Button (I knew there was something I forgot to order!) completes the card. I’m loving the colors together and the mix of the doily with the modern deign is fun too! Thank you for visiting me to see my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s sketch challenge. Head on over to the blog and see what the other designers have for you. Thanks again and enjoy your day!

SUO Challenges 73

Hey hey, what do you say?!?! I try not say the same thing to start every post, it’s not easy! LOL! Monday wasn’t as bad as it usually is. I’m settling into my new job little by little. The weather here was warm with some clouds. I came home last night and played with my creative goodies which as you all know is my favorite way to end the day! I also wanted to take a minute to thank all of my followers, you guys rock!

Today’s post – SUO Challenges, Patriotic Theme…

Patriotic Subway Art

We don’t have an image for the challenges but I need one! LOL! My card is a very simple one. The base is Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped the images from the Daydream Medallions Stamp Set in Real Red and Night of Navy. The stars are from the Simply Stars Stamp Set and are stamped in the same colors and cut out with my Paper Snips. For the greeting I used the Make a Wish Stamp Set, one of my favorites. I thought that the stamps from Daydream Medallions kind of looked slightly like fireworks. What do you think? Thanks very much for taking some time to come by and see my SUO Challenges Patriotic themed card. You can head on over to the blog and see what the other peeps from the design team have some up with. Enter one of your cards in the gallery and show us your stripes! I hope you have yourselves a stupendous day! 🙂

Trendy Monday

Boy does that weekend ever go fast! Does it for you too?! I had a very nice day with my daughter yesterday. We “ate fresh” for dinner and then went to Red Mango for dessert. I also got a little color from driving around in the convertible on Saturday. Now that’s multi-tasking, driving and tanning at the same time! LOL!

Today I have a fun card for you. The post is called Trendy Monday because I have become obsessed with these slide frames that are very popular right now. I decided that with a little ingenuity I could create my own! The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I used one of my favorite new stamps the Post Card Stamp for the background. The phone image is from the Timeless Talk Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay. The hello, you is from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. Both are behind my slide frames that I made with the Squares Collection Framelits Dies and the 3/16″ Corner Rounder from Basic Gray Card Stock. For some added fun I used the Tape It Stamp Set and stamped them on Vellum Card Stock and cut them out with my Paper Snips for some faux Washi Tape. I love the frames and washi tape, they add some trendy fun to the card and the color combo is quite neat too! Thank you for coming by to see my trendy Monday card, I hope that you enjoyed it and that you all have a good Monday!

Paper Players #150 :-)

Hello kiddies! How was your Saturday? Mine was great! I ran some errands and had lunch with a few friends. I had the top down in the car all day, it was gorgeous. I went to see my friend Sandy which always a good time. And, I even got some crafting done too! It was definitely a very nice day indeed. I hope your day was just as good. Thank you all for your comments yesterday, I really do appreciate them and I always reply to each one. Oh, and Happy Fathers Day!!!!

Today, being Sunday, means it Paper Players time! This week we have a Clean and Simple sketch using Bling from Anne Marie…

Paper Players #150 Bling 6-16-2013

Now who doesn’t like a little bling?! The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Whisper White with the Positively Chevron Background Stamp in Bermuda Bay and adhered it to the card on a tilt. For the frame I used the Squares Collection Framelits Dies to cut the window out and some Subtles Designer Series Paper to fill it in. The image is from the Cycle Celebrations Stamp Set and is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar and again in Bermuda Bay. I cut the banner out of the Bermuda Bay piece and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the Baked Brown Sugar Piece. The greeting is from the Four You Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay. Some Basic Jewels Rhinestones on the soda bottle add my bling. I loved the image of the soda bottle so much that it’s what sold me on the set! Thank you for coming by to see my Paper Players Guest Designer card for this week’s Clean and Simple “Bring on the Bling” challenge from Anne Marie. Create with Connie and Mary 256

Good morning! Saturday, no work all play and the weather is supposed to be nice here today! Did you get all of your Father’s Day cards made? I, like always have projects to make this weekend and that makes me happy! LOL! I have been trying some more abstract and different styles lately and I’m really liking it. You’ll have to let me know what you think of today’s card which was inspired by one that I saw on Pinterest. Oh, and I’m experimenting with my photography too, your feedback is appreciated!

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary 256, colors…

CCMC 256

What a fun color combination and conveniently they are all in the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. There is a strip of the Soho Subway DSP across the bottom and the panel on the right is backed by some Very Vanilla to make it a little more sturdy. I used a thin strip of Champagne Glimmer Paper on the piece across the bottom and also for some of the circles. The circles are punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, 1/2″ Circle Punch and 1″ Circle Punch. I stamped the Island Indigo ones with a stamp from the Notable Notions Stamp Set in Island Indigo. The circles are then randomly adhered, some with SNAIL and some with Stampin’ Dimensionals, on the panel on the right. For the greeting I used the Hello, Lovely Stamp Set, stamped in Early Espresso, and mounted to the panel with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few Island Indigo and Early Espresso Candy Dots finish off the card. I LOVE the candy dots, I’m going to be going through a lot of them! I also like the Champagne Glimmer Paper with the color combo, I think it works quite nicely. Thank you for checking in with me today to see my Create with Connie and Mary color challenge card. I hope that you have a productive or relaxing Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 20

Ahh yes peeps, it FRIDAY! And it didn’t come soon enough! Yesterday was overcast and rainy but today it’s supposed to clear up and tomorrow is supposed to be nice. This week at work has been super busy and I will be glad to focus on some crafting this weekend to relieve some stress. Making cards is definitely therapy for me, when I don’t get the chance to make something I really do feel like there is something missing in my day. It is definitely one of the things that I am most thankful for, the ability to be creative and I thank you for sharing it with me!

Today’s post – Fab Friday 20, the new In-Colors…

Fab Fri 20 Color 6-14-2013

It’s very rare that I make a card that doesn’t use the Big Shot or more than one stamp set, today is one of those rare occasions! The base of my card is Vellum Card Stock. I thought it would be neat to use it for the card itself for a change too. The background is a piece of Whisper White. The images and greeting are from the Six Sided Sampler Stamp Set and are stamped in Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Costal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe. I used the Hexagon Punch to punch them out and adhered them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the colors together and the hexagons are very cool and trendy right now. Thank you for stopping by to take a look at my Fab Friday Design Team card for the color challenge. Be sure to head on over to the blog and take a look at what my clever teammates have come up with. Don’t forget to enter your card in the gallery so we can see what neat cards you come up with. I hope you have a quick and good Friday!

Freshly Made Sketches #90

Hello everyone! It’s Thursday and I always start to get a little happy because tomorrow is Friday! Yesterday was a gorgeous day here, lots of sun and a nice breeze. Today, more rain. Oh well… you have to take the good with the bad right?! I went to dinner with my girls last night and we had a great time. The food was delicious and the company was awesome! Thanks Kim and Heather, oh and Izzy and Savannah too! 🙂

Today’s post – Freshly Made Sketches #90, a sketch from Linda…

Freshly Made Sketches #90

I decided to keep my card super clean and simple. The base of today’s card is Crushed Curry Card Stock. I used a piece of the Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper on the right side. The stamped image is the Beautifully Baroque Stamp and it’s stamped in Costal Cabana. I backed it with Costal Cabana before adhering it to the card. The greeting is form the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set and is stamped in Crushed Curry and the piece of Whisper White is flagged on the left and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A very simple card that makes a great quick thank you or change out the greeting for a endless possibilities. Thank you for stopping by to see my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. I hope you enjoyed the card and that you will enjoy your day!

Paper Craft Crew 46

Wednesday, that means that we are halfway there! It was sunny, then gloomy then poured here yesterday. Nothing like having a cacophony of weather in one day! Tonight I’m having dinner with Heather, Kim, Izzy and Savannah. Just me and the lovely ladies tonight! It will be a good time. We are going to Anthony’s Coal Fire Pizza for some oven wings and well, pizza! 🙂

I decided that I have played with the Venetian Romance DSP enough for a little while! LOL! The base of today’s card is Basic Gray Card Stock. For the background I used some I Am Me Designer Series Paper mounted to some So Saffron. All of the stamps are from the Around the World Stamp Set. The banner across the middle is stamped in Calypso Coral, Basic Gray, Pool Party and Real Red. The cameras are stamped in Pool Party and Calypso Coral and punched out with the 1″ Square Punch. I used the Squares Collection Framelits to cut out the backing for each one. The sentiment is stamped in So Saffron and punched out with the Hexagon Punch and adhered with a Stampin’ Dimensional. Two Calypso Coral Candy Dots next to the cameras finish off the card. I really like the colors in the I Am Me DSP and those Candy Dots are quite addicting! Thank you for stopping by to see my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s challenge. Head on over to the blog to see the other creations and upload one of yours to the gallery. Have yourselves a nice Wednesday!

Hello there peeps! What’s up?! Not a lot here, just a very rainy Monday yesterday and we are supposed to get a little more today. It has subsided for a bit this morning and the sun is shining. I have a lot of planning to do before I go to Convention which is a little over a month away. I mailed out my Display Stamper projects yesterday, I was happy to have them finished. Time really does move quickly sometimes!

Today’s post – Mojo Monday, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

It’s always funny that sometimes the Designer Series Paper that I think I will like the least turns out to be a favorite once I get to use it. The base of my card today is Island Indigo Card Stock. The pieces of paper in the middle on the back and on the square are from the Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper Pack. The panel on top of that is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe and I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch in Tangerine Tango for the edges. The flag and circle are from the Lovely Romance Stamp Set. The circle is punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch and backed by some Soft Suede cut out with the Circles Framelits Dies and a piece of Island Indigo punched out with the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it and the greeting, which is from the Label Something Stamp Set and is punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. I really love the colors and the art deco feel to the Venetian Romance DSP and it works so well with the Lovely Romance Stamps. My sincere thanks to you for stopping by to see my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. I always appreciate your visits and love to read your comments. Have a fantastic day!
