Simple Monday Birthday

Here we go again, back to Monday. How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was good, I got all of my projects finished! I watched a movie, spent time with my friends and the child. It was a very productive weekend and those are my favorite kind. It’s supposed to rain here today but I’ll be at work so it’s all good.

Today I have a birthday card that I made for one of my co-workers. Nicole loves the beach and actually lives quite close to it on the north shore of Long Island. Because of that I felt some seashells would be a good addition to the card. The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I tore the bottom of the front panel of Costal Cabana and also tore another piece that I adhered underneath, I thought it gave the illusion of waves. The shells are stamped in Costal Cabana from the By the Seashore Stamp Set on Crumb Cake. A little work with my Paper Snips and I adhered them to the bottom. The greeting is from the now “Vintage” Beautiful Birthday Stamp and is stamped in Early Espresso so it stands out a little better. I used the new Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set to give the effect of sand on the bottom of the inside that peeks out. Nicole loved the card and I was impressed that I was able to tear the card stock, I have a big aversion to doing that but I like the effect! Thank you for stopping by to see what I’m up to, I appreciate your visit and comments. I wish a very happy Monday! 🙂

Paper Players #149 :-)

Sunday already! That Saturday just flew by. I did get a lot accomplished and I even got to watch my movie! Taylor and I watched The Source Code and it was really good! Lot’s of cool effects and things to think about. It was a nice day here yesterday, a little cloudy at times but we did get some sun. I think they said it’s supposed to get up to 81 degrees today and be a little on the humid side so I will get to finish the rest of my projects today.

It’s Sunday and that means it’s time for another Paper Players Challenge. This week we have some fun colors from Ann…

Paper Players #149 Colors 6-09-2013

Some of my favorites are included in there! The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Very Vanilla with the Beautifully Baroque Stamp in Pool Party. The panel across the top is also stamped in Pool Party using the Amazing Accent Wheel with some Calypso Coral 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon across the middle. For the images in the center I used the Chalk Talk Stamp Set and Chalk Talk Framelits and adhered them with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The final addition is a Very Vintage Designer Button with some Calypso Coral Bakers Twine tied in a bow. I really love the Beautifully Baroque stamp and how well it goes with the Amazing Accent Wheel. Thanks for stopping by to see my Paper Players Guest Designer Card for this week’s color challenge from Ann. Head on over to the blog to see what my other talented team mates have to inspire you with and upload one of your creation to the gallery for us! Have yourselves a great Sunday! 😀

Pals Paper Arts 160

It’s sunny Saturday here on Long Island! It rained so much yesterday and especially last night that I though I might need to think about a boat instead of a car! They said rain today too but it’s nice and bright and sunny this morning. I have a day of crafting planned to finish all of my outstanding projects, what are you up to?

Today’s post – Pals Paper Arts 160 Colors…

PPA 160

I looked at these colors and immediately thought garden. The base of my card is Primrose Petals Card Stock. For the background I cut a piece of Whisper White to 5″ x 3 3/4″ and rounded opposite corners. The greeting is from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals. I choose the images from the Backyard Basics Stamp Set. The tulips are stamped in Basic Black and the butterfly in Primrose Petals. I used the Backyard Basics Framelits Dies to cut them out. To color them in I used my Gumball Green and Primrose Petals Stampin’ Write Markers. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals give them a little pop and secure them to the card. Who doesn’t love a stamp set and coordinating Framelits?!?! Thank you for stopping by to see my Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge card. I hope you enjoyed it and that you enjoy your Saturday!

Hey hey, it’s Friday! Made it through another week! It’s going to rain all day today and a good part of tomorrow, I feel some crafty time coming on! What is going on this weekend by you? I need to finish a bunch of projects (don’t I always!) and I would like to squeeze a movie in too! I’ll let you know how that goes. I have some new goodies to play with so it will be hard to get me away from the craft desk this weekend!

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary Sketch 255…

I see a flag! LOL! The base of my card is Tangerine Tango Card Stock. I used a piece of paper from the Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper Pack for the background. The flagged piece of Crisp Cantaloupe is embossed with the Beautifully Baroque Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I choose the greeting from the Lovely Romance Stamp Set. It’s stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold it to the card. I absolutely love the Venetian Romance DSP, especially the piece I used. The colors and the script with the images are just amazing! Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look at my Create with Connie and Mary card for this week’s sketch challenge. I hope that your Friday is a great start to your weekend! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #89

Well hello Thursday, so nice to see you again. What are you guys up to? I got my new Catalog order last night and went over to my friend Sandy’s and we mounted stamps, chatted and laughed. It definitely made the stamp mounting go faster and I do love a little Sandy time! It was another gorgeous day here yesterday and the first half of today is supposed to be nice but the rain is to come later on and stay through Saturday. Looks like another crafty first half of the weekend!

Today’s post – Freshly Made Sketches #89, a sketch from Rita…

Freshly Made Sketches #89

A fun little square layout indeed! I needed to play with some new goodies so I used a few on this card. The base my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. For the background I used some Whisper White and stamped it with the new Off the Grid Stamp in Gumball Green. The main image and greeting are from the Perfect Blend Stamp Set. I love coffee so I was quite happy to see this really great set in the new catalog! The cup is stamped in Early Espresso and the sleeve in Gumball Green on Crumb Cake. I cut both out with my Paper Snips and adhered them to a base of Gumball Green that I embossed with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It is backed with some Early Espresso and the flags are cut out with the Bitty Banner Framelits Dies and the new Big Shot Magnetic Platform which works great! Some Early Espresso Bakers Twine wrapped around the left side and tied in a bow finishes off the card. I really do love the new goodies that I used on the card, they may just be my favorites from the new catalog. The Gumball Green and Early Espresso just makes me want a Starbucks! Thank you so much for stopping by to see my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. I hope you have your coffee and have a great day! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 45

Hello there, thanks for stopping by today. How are you? I’m doing just fine. The weather here was beautiful yesterday and last night was perfect have the window open sleeping weather. I love when we actually get Spring weather instead of jumping right into Summer. What is going on in your neck of the woods? It’s Wednesday and that means it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge. This week we have a fun little square sketch…

PCCCS045 Sketch 6-05-2013

When I looked at this I immediately had an idea what I was going to do! The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I used a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe stamped with the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Crisp Cantaloupe for the background. A piece of Island Indigo is cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit and on top of that is some Soho Subway Designer Series Paper, some are cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits, and there is also a strip. The greeting is from the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set and is markered in Island Indigo so I could leave off the you. I cut it out with the Ovals Collection Framelits and used the Occasion Paper Piercing Pack to pierce around the edge. For the you I stamped the letters from the ABC & 123 Sketch Alphabet Stamp Set in Early Espresso and punched them out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. I like the way the letters take the place of the end of the greeting and the flowers in the sketch. Thanks again for stopping by to see my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s sketch challenge. SUO Challenges #72

Hello, and how are we today? Did we all make it through Monday ok?! I was lucky enough to get through unscathed. It was pouring here this morning and then the rain stopped and it was just muggy and soup like. Not the best hair day! LOL! It’s nice and cool out this morning! My friend Cynthia asked me to post a picture of the venue that I saw the Pitbull concert at on Saturday so here you go…

Jones Beach Theater

Luckily our seats were far enough away to get a good shot of the stage with the water behind it! LOL!

Today I have my Design Team card for SUO Challenges. This time around the theme is weddings so I happily broke out my Best of Brides and Babies Stamp Set. The base of my card is Basic Gray Card Stock that I cut to 11″ x 3 3/4″. A piece of Basic Black is flagged on the bottom and goes down the middle. I used the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies to cut out the background image which is from the Daydream Medallions Stamp Set and is stamped in Smokey Slate. The main image is stamped in Basic Black and is mounted on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I haven’t made a paper bow in a while and I thought it would be the perfect addition to the top. I used Smokey Slate for the bow and adhered it with some Sticky Strip. I love the mix of grays and black the image cut out with the Floral Framelits makes a nice change. Thank you for taking some time out of your day to come by and see my card for this week’s SUO Challenges Wedding themed challenge. Make sure to stop by the blog and see what my comrades have for you and make one for us to see and upload it to the gallery. Have an interesting Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo 296

Monday, Monday, back again. How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was pretty good, I went into Manhattan yesterday and had brunch with my friend Kim at the great Mexican Restaurant called Molé. We had breakfast sandwiches that were delicious and they came with fries, who doesn’t love fries, especially seasoned ones! It’s rainy here this morning and is supposed to be all day but it’s still supposed to be in 70’s so not too bad.

Today’s post – Mojo Monday 296, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

Mojo296

I got up a little early this morning and decided to see how early morning creativity worked! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. The background and the strip of paper across the lower half are from the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper Pack. A strip of Daffodil Delight and a strip of Island Indigo go down the left side. The stamped images are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set, stamped in Basic Gray on Melon Mambo, and cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits Dies. For the greeting I used the A Round Array Stamp Set and stamped it in Night of Navy. The 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch punches out the greeting and I backed it with a piece of Night of Navy punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. Some Brights Designer Buttons (Vintage) Finish off the card on the left. I really like the colors in the Gingham Garden DSP, don’t you? Thanks for coming by to see my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card, I appreciate your visit and hope that you have a great day! 🙂

Paper Players #148 :-)

So how was your Saturday? It was a very nice day here yesterday, warm and sunny. I went to see Pitbull and Ke$ha last night at Jones Beach Theater. It is one of my favorite places to see a concert. It’s an outdoor amphitheater right on the water, in fact the stage is in the water! Pitbull was awesome, high energy and a great show. I was surprised that Ke$ha was pretty good too! They had a DJ in between and he was great too! All in all a very nice night!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players. This time we have a theme challenge from the superb Jaydee…

Paper Players #148 Theme Summer 6-02-2013

Summer! I pondered about what stamps to use for a while and then I remembered a “Vintage” one that is the perfect image of summer. The base of my card is Pacific Point Card Stock. The background is a piece of Tangerine Tango and before I adhered it to the card I put a little piece of the Gingham Garden Washi Tape in the upper right. The image is the “Vintage” Sail Away Stamp and I stamped it in Pacific Point and backed it with some Daffodil Delight. The greeting is from the Pursuit of Happiness Stamp Set that will be “Vintage” as of Monday. I used another soon to be “Vintage” product, a Brights Collection Designer Button with a piece of Tangerine Tango in the middle. It sort of reminded me of the sun so it went with the greeting. I think the sail away image with the sketched sail boat and seagulls is perfect for summer, don’t you? Thank you so very much for stopping by to see my Paper Players Guest Designer card for this week’s Summer Theme challenge from Jaydee. Head on over to the Paper Players blog and check out the other awesome designers cards and enter on of yours in the gallery. Have a wonderful Sunday!

I’m off to Jones Beach Theater to see Pitbull & Ke$ha tonight with Heather. I’m a big fan of Pitbull but poor Ke$ha looks like she rolls right out of the dumpster onto the stage. It should be a good night! 🙂

Today’ post – Create with Connie and Mary Colors…

CCMC 254

Ahh, Pool Party and Island Indigo, two of my faves! I wanted a nice clean card and I think that’s just what I got. The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. A strip of “Vintage” Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper and a piece of Pool Party that is embossed with the Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder are each flagged and on the right side. Next, a piece of Whisper White that I stamped with the Label Love Stamp Set and punched out with the Artisan Label Punch. The center greeting is from the A Round Array Stamp Set and is punched out with the 7/8′ Scallop Circle Punch. Both are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. This is a great quick card and would be good for so many different occasions. I love the layout and the simplicity! Thank you for visiting me today to see my Create with Connie and Mary card for this week’s Color Challenge. I hope that you have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. 🙂
