Paper Craft Crew 52, CCMC 261 & Display Project 4

Happy Wednesday! We are halfway through the week! Dinner last night was very nice. We went to a mexican restaurant called Cara Cara in Farmingdale. The food was delicious and the company was great. I work with a very nice bunch of people and for that I am grateful! The weather around here has been very pleasant these past few days. Warm during the day and cooling off at night. I realized this morning I’m getting a little behind with my posts and that I hadn’t done my Create with Connie and Mary entry which closes today. So I have my CReate with Connie and Mary card and my Display Stamper project number 4 at the end of the post too!

Today’s main post is for the Paper Craft Crew Sketch 52…

PCCCS052 7-24-2013

I used some newly acquired Designer Series Paper and I’m loving the colors in it! The base of my card is Basic Gray Card Stock and the background is a piece of Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper. I also used some for one of the double ended flagged pieces, the other is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe. The image is from the Cycle Celebration Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay, I backed it with a piece of Gumball Green and a thin strip of Summer Starfruit goes across the top. The greeting is from the A Round Array Stamp Set and I stamped it in Summer Starfruit and Bermuda Bay. The Summer Starfruit one is punched out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch and backed with a piece of Bermuda Bay that I punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. The middle of the Bermuda Bay one is cut out with the smallest of the Circle Collection Framelits Dies. I really do love the colors in the DSP and the bicycle is pretty neat too. Thank you for stopping by today to see my Paper Craft Crew Design Team Card for this week’s sketch challenge. Head on over to the blog to check out the other design team member’s projects and enter yours in the gallery. Scroll down to see my Create with Connie and Mary card and the fourth Display project. Sorry for the lengthy post! I hope you have an enjoyable day! 🙂

CCMC 261

When I saw the sketch I thought Paper-Piercing and then I thought let’s mix it up! The base of the card is Old Olive Card Stock. The main panel is a piece paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack*. I punched a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper with the Scallop Edge Border Punch and adhered it on the left side. For the greeting I stamped an image from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set* in Baked Brown Sugar and punched it out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. Around that is a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I punched out with the 2 3/4″ Scallop Circle punch and cut the middle out with the Circles Collection Framelits Dies. The ornaments is from the Christmas Collectibles Stamp Set* and is punched out with the Christmas Ornament Punch*. A nice fun traditional color card with some sparkle!

SUO Challenges & Display Project 3

Yup, it was definitely a Monday yesterday! It was a little long and busy, not my favorite day. How was your day yesterday? I did get to come home and craft though so all is was good in the end. 🙂 Tonight I’m going out to dinner with my co-workers and that should be a lot of fun. I like them and I think we are having Mexican and I like that too! I have my third Display Stamper project for you at the end of the post so don’t forget to take a look, no cheating! LOL!

Today’s post is my card for the SUO Challenges Design Team. This time around we have a Back to School theme for you…

76 Back to School

I don’t really have anything current that I could think of so I dusted off an oldie but a goodie! The base of my card is Pacific Point Card Stock. The background is a piece of Real Red that I embossed with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Yes, I created the piece of notebook paper with my Stampin’ Write Markers and the “Vintage” Spiral Border Punch (a favorite of mine!). I used Melon Mambo and Pool Party as I thought they were the closest to actual notebook paper colors. All of the images are from the “Vintage” First Day Stamp Set. The A+ is punched out with the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch and backed with a piece of Gumball Green that is punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. I used some Whisper White Bakers Twine on the tag and the apples are punched out with the 1/2″ Circle Punch. I really love the primary colors and the images in the set are still pretty neat. I also love that Alphabet Press EF! Thank you for taking some time to stop by and see my SUO Challenges Design Team card for the Back to School challenge. Head on over to the blog and see what my talented team mates have done and enter your project in the gallery. I hope you have a great day and don’t forget about the Display Stamper 3 project at the end!

Now on to the good stuff! First up we have this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week the lovely LeAnne has give us a very nice sketch…

Paper Players #156

I really like it! I also thought it would be perfect to use a new goodie that I have. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. For the background I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The horizontal layer is a piece of paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack* and I backed it with a piece of Old Olive. The brads are actually some “Vintage” Everyday Enchantment that I lightly sanded and heat embossed with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The vertical Layer is one of the Season of Style Designer Journaling Tags*. They are designed for the new Divided Pages in the 2013 Holiday Catalog but I thought they might work for cards too. I backed it with a piece of Baked Brown Sugar and added two thin Strips of Champagne Glimmer Paper for some sparkle. I think the journaling tag works quite well on a card and did you notice, there is no stamping! Oh no! LOL! Thank you very much for stopping by to visit and see my Paper Players Card for this week’s sketch from LeAnne. Don’t forget to scroll down and see my Display Stamper card #2! Have a great day! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 165, Sneak Peek & Display Project

Good morning my awesome followers! How was your Saturday? Mine was very nice, I went into Manhattan to meet my friend Kim and we had lunch at the Boat House in Central Park and then had a nice relaxing meander through SoHo. Sometimes having no particular plan is the best plan! Here is a little picture taken from Bow Bridge of the lake. There were a lot of people out on the row boats yesterday.

Bow Bridge Central Park Doi

All in all a very nice day! For today’s post I have my Pals Paper Arts card for this week’s challenge and I also have the first of my Display Stamper Projects to share with you at the end of this post. First here is the sketch for this week’s Pals…

PPA 165

For the base of my card I used a piece of Smokey Slate Card Stock. The papers are from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack* and the one on the right is backed with a piece of Costal Cabana, I also flagged the piece of DSP on the right at the bottom. The image is from the Festive Flurry Stamp Set* and is stamped in Pool Party and cut out with the coordinating Festive Flurry Framelits Dies*. For the greeting I used one of the sets that I got from Convention,  the Tags 4 You Stamp Set*, stamped in Smokey Slate and punched out with the Label Bracket Punch*. Both the snowflake and the greeting are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really love the colors in the Winter Frost DSP and all of the coordinating Framelits and Punches from the new 2013 Holiday are great! You can start placing your orders from the new Holiday Catalog this Thursday and also order a set of the new Thinlits Card Dies too! Thank you so much for stopping by to see my Pals Paper Arts card for this week’s sketch challenge. Don’t forget, after the supply list is the first of my Display Stamper projects from Convention. Have a great Sunday!

Control Freak Convention Card Swap/Holiday Catalog Tour

freakwelcome2013

Hello everyone and welcome to the Control Freaks Convention Swap/Holiday Catalog Tour. If you are going along the tour you have arrived here from the talented LeAnn Greff, she always has some amazing projects! I’m doing a little something different this time around. One of my favorite features in the Stampin’ Success Magazine that Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators get every other month is the Stepped Up article. I have two cards to share with you today and two versions of each card. The first card will appeal to you clean and simple side while the second card adds some extra for a little oomph.

My first card is actually one of my favorites. It starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock and I stamped the “skid marks” from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set in Pear Pizzaz three times in the middle. The tag is made from a piece of Wisteria Wonder that I stamped the ampersand from the Hello, Lovely Stamp Set in Wisteria Wonder. Two butterflies are punched out from a piece of Pear Pizzaz that I stamped with the Travel Journal Builder Wheel in Pear Pizzaz and punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. The greeting is from the Bitty Banners Stamp Set and is stamped in Wisteria Wonder and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies.

CF Conv Swap Card 1

The Stepped Up version of the card adds a piece of Whisper White 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon to the tag and some Basic Jewels Rhinestones randomly placed. To make the whole card pop I mounted it to a base of Wisteria Wonder Card Stock. I like both versions of the card but a little bling and a base goes a long way! It’s also a great way to combine some sets you may already have with some new goodies!

CF Blog Tour Card 1 SU

The second card I have for you uses one of my favorite card stock. The base of the card is Naturals White Card Stock. I used the Tape It! Stamp Set to stamp the Washi Tape in Bermuda Bay, Baked Brown Sugar and Strawberry Slush. Up at the top is the greeting from the Label Something Stamp Set stamped in Baked Brown Sugar and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch and stapled to a piece of Bermuda Bay that was punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and cut in half. The hexagon, from the Six Sided Sampler Stamp Set punched out with the Hexagon Punch, flower from the Flower Shop Stamp Set punched out with the Pansy Punch and the button from the Notable Notions Stamp Set punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch are all adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. All of the images are stamped on Naturals White.

CF Conv Swap 2

The Stepped Up version includes some Basic Jewels Pearls in the center of the flower and is mounted to a base of Bermuda Bay Card Stock. Again, just a little bling and a base give the card a whole new look. I also love the way that a bunch of completely different stamp sets can have such a cohesive look!

CF Blog Tour Card 2 SU

I hope that you enjoyed my Stepped Up post for the Control Freaks Convention Swap Tour. It was such an honor to meet up with all of the Freaks at Convention in person. I’m so happy to be a part of their fun group! Now on to the your next dose of creativity with the clever Lisa Martz. Have a great time on the tour and thanks for stopping by!

Fab Friday and Still More Pics!

Wee! It’s Friday! And yes, I have a few more pictures from Convention. I promise, they are almost finished! I was supposed to go see my brother in Pennsylvania tomorrow but I have been told that he is coming up here so I guess that would be a little pointless. Instead, I’ll go and see my friend Kim in Manhattan, that will be loads of fun! So I was lucky enough to meet the wonderful Sarah Douglas. She is such a nice person and she gave some really informative demonstrations. Here we are on the night of the 25th Anniversary party…

Sarah Douglas SU! Conv 2013

She had a really nice dress on too and her little dimple is so cute!

And here is the Fab Friday Design Team. It was so awesome to meet everyone in person. The only one missing was Amanda, but she was on vacation so it’s all good! What a great bunch of people!

Now for today’s post. It’s Fab Friday! This week we have a sketch for you to play with…

Fab Fri 23 Sketch 7-26-2013

Clean and simple, woo hoo! The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used a piece of So Saffron for the background and stamped the greeting from the Happy Day Stamp Set in Basic Black right on it. Up top I used the Tea Lace Paper Doily that I used for the mask on the card from Friday’s card. It was spritzed with Bermuda Bay Re-Inker from a Stampin’ Spritzer and I trimmed the top and side a little. In the middle is a piece of Bermuda Bay that I punched out with the  2 1/2″ Circle Punch and embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flower are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set and are stamped in Bermuda Bay on “Vintage” First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper. I cut them out with the Secret Garden Framelits Dies and adhered them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A teeny Subtles Designer Series Button is adhered with a Mini Glue Dot in the middle of each one. I love the color combo and the “Vintage” First Edition DSP is still one of my favorites. Thanks so much for stopping by to see my Fab Friday Design Team Card for this week’s sketch challenge. Stop by the blog to see what my other creative team mates have done with the sketch and enter yours in the gallery so you can be a Fab Fave! Freshly Made Sketches #96 and Still More Pics!

Yeah it’s Thursday! Only one more day until Friday! Then we will be at the weekend and I’m supposed to go down to PA to see my brother and his wife with my friend Kim. That should be a good time! I have still more pictures from Convention for you today, there are still a lot more coming too! It was so much fun to meet some of my Stampin’ Up! idols from the Home Office. Here is the very clever Shannon West and me…

Shannon West SU! Conv 2013

Shannon had some great ideas to share with us like her personalized stamp that I used on my card on Sunday. She is also and expert stamp carver and made the most incredible breakfast collection of stamps including bacon, eggs, donuts and a diet coke!

Here I am with Carrie Cudney. She did a great presentation called “Living a Creative Life” and her mixed media projects were so cool. She is definitely a clever and trendy stamper!

Now for today’s post which is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week’s sketch is provided by sweet wonderful Amy…

Freshly Made Sketches #96

I love when a Designer Series Paper has a whole bunch of really different colors in it, that’s where my wild combination came from for this card! The base of the card is Pear Pizzaz Card Stock. I used a piece of Wisteria Wonder for the background and stamped one of the elements from the Tea Party Stamp Set in Wisteria Wonder to frame the middle panel which is made form a piece of Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper backed with a piece of Basic Gray. The tag in the middle consists of a piece of Soft Suede for the base and a piece of Costal Cabana cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies. I used the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack to pierce around the edge. The main image is also from the Tea Party Stamp Set and is stamped in Crushed Curry. It too is cut out with the Ovals Framelits and a piece of Linen Thread tied in a bow completes the card. I really do like the bold colors and retro look of the DSP an Stamps. Thank you so much for taking some time to stop by and see my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. I hope you have a fun and crafty day!

Paper Craft Crew 51 & More Convention Pics

Hello all! It’s kind of nice that it’s Wednesday already! I think I need every Monday off… how do you think that would go over at work?! Not well I’m afraid! I want to welcome all of my new followers and thank you all for your comments yesterday. My friend Brian was very kind to me in his post yesterday. We did have an amazing time and I can wait to go and see him in Atlanta soon.

So I know that I mentioned that I was lucky enough to get to do the some of the display samples at Convention this year. They put up a nice board to thank us and will you just look at the amazing company I had! WOW!

Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge…

PCCCS051 7-17-2013

It’s funny how sometimes you look at a sketch with flowers and you see a lighthouse! LOL! The base of my card is Night of Navy Card Stock. The background is created with a piece of Raspberry Ripple that I embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I did the same with a piece of Whisper White and backed that with a piece of Night of Navy. Next I adhered a piece of Raspberry Ripple 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the back before adhering it to the base. All of the stamped images are from the Settin’ Sail Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Night of Navy. The boat, lighthouse and banner are cut out with my Paper Snips, the sentiment in the middle is cut out with the Circle Collection Framelits Dies, The wheel is punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch and finally the lower greeting is punched out with the Hexagon Punch. A strip of raspberry Ripple is behind the banners and a flagged piece is behind the center greeting. They are all adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like all of the fun elements in the Settin’ Sail Set and the colors are pretty neat together too! Thank you very much for stopping by to see my Paper Craft Crew card for this week’s sketch challenge. Mojo 303, My Peeps & Sneak Peek!

Well, my vacation has come to an end. Today is my Monday and after a week away from work I am dreading my inbox! It was definitely an amazing week spent with new friends. What an awesome way to spend a vacation and I can’t wait for next year! Before we get to today’s card here is a picture of Brian & I with the wonderful Charlotte Coombes…

Me, Brian & Charlotte

I have spoken to Charlotte on FaceBook for quite a while and I have to say she is just awesomesauce with a big old cherry on top! I love her!!

Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week’s sketch is provided by Carole Burrage…

Mojo303

I wanted a rich bright card so I needed some gold! The base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Real Red that I embossed using the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. For the strip on the left side I stamped the image from the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set in Encore Gold Metallic Ink* and then used some Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it to give it a nice shine (the picture doesn’t do it justice). A strip of Brushed Gold Metallic Card Stock is flagged on the bottom and tucked underneath a stamp from the That’s the Ticket Stamp Set that I punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. The pane in the middle starts off with another piece of Whisper White with a piece of Brushed Gold on top. The tag is from the Pretty Presents Designer Tags* set and I used the 1″ Circle Punch to round the corners of a piece of Real Red for the backdrop to my Joy that is from the A Banner Christmas Stamp Set*. I heat embossed the images in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut them out with my Paper Snips. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the card. I love all of the gold which by the way is very on-trend at the moment. Thank you very much for visiting today to see my Mojo Monday Sketch card for this week’s challenge. I hope you are enjoying the Convention pics and I’ll have some more for you tomorrow. I will also start posting my Display Samples soon. Have a good day! 🙂

Double Header and More Convention Pics!

Ahh, I feel much better now that I have had a full nights sleep! How are all of you doing today? Is everyone home safely from Convention? I had to make some projects yesterday, four days without crafting is way too long for me! Today I have two cards for you but before I get to those here are a few more pictures from 2013 Convention!

Like I said before I have two cards for you today. I wanted to get my Freshly Made Sketches card and Create with Connie and Mary card in before it was too late! First up we have my Freshly Made Sketches card. This week the sketch is provided by Narelle…

Freshly Made Sketches #95

The base of the card is Basic Black Card Stock. All of the Designer Series Paper, the frame and the sentiment on the frame are from a Paper Pumpkin Kit. I love this kit because of the frames and the colors. The people in the picture are Me, Wendy Weixler and Brian King. The camera image is form the Around the World Stamp Set and is stamped in Summer Starfruit, I used the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch to punch it out. A little Pool Party flag tucked behind it completes the card. It’s definitely a fun way to add a photo to a card and show that the Paper Pumpkin kits can be used for much more than what they are intended!

FMS #95

Next up we have my card for the Create with Connie and Mary color/sketch challenge…

CCMC 260 -1

CCMC 260 -2

I used the colors and some elements from the sketch for my card. The base is Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock. I used the Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die to cut out a piece of Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper. A piece of Crisp Cantaloupe is cut out with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits Dies and embossed with the Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The leaves are made using the Circles Collection Framelits Dies and a piece of Pistachio Pudding. A piece of Calypso Coral and Baked Brown Sugar are flagged and slipped underneath. The image is a stamp that Shannon West designed and was given out as a Prize Patrol gift. I cut it out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. I thought the stamp was a great way to use one of the personalized stamps instead of just with a name and address. I also love the way that the Pretty Print Folder goes with the DSP. Thank you very very much for stopping by to see my two challenge cards! I always appreciate your visits and look forward to seeing you again tomorrow!
