Mojo 303, My Peeps & Sneak Peek!

Well, my vacation has come to an end. Today is my Monday and after a week away from work I am dreading my inbox! It was definitely an amazing week spent with new friends. What an awesome way to spend a vacation and I can’t wait for next year! Before we get to today’s card here is a picture of Brian & I with the wonderful Charlotte Coombes…

Me, Brian & Charlotte

I have spoken to Charlotte on FaceBook for quite a while and I have to say she is just awesomesauce with a big old cherry on top! I love her!!

Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week’s sketch is provided by Carole Burrage…

I wanted a rich bright card so I needed some gold! The base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Real Red that I embossed using the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. For the strip on the left side I stamped the image from the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set in Encore Gold Metallic Ink* and then used some Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it to give it a nice shine (the picture doesn’t do it justice). A strip of Brushed Gold Metallic Card Stock is flagged on the bottom and tucked underneath a stamp from the That’s the Ticket Stamp Set that I punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. The pane in the middle starts off with another piece of Whisper White with a piece of Brushed Gold on top. The tag is from the Pretty Presents Designer Tags* set and I used the 1″ Circle Punch to round the corners of a piece of Real Red for the backdrop to my Joy that is from the A Banner Christmas Stamp Set*. I heat embossed the images in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut them out with my Paper Snips. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the card. I love all of the gold which by the way is very on-trend at the moment. Thank you very much for visiting today to see my Mojo Monday Sketch card for this week’s challenge. I hope you are enjoying the Convention pics and I’ll have some more for you tomorrow. I will also start posting my Display Samples soon. Have a good day! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. LOL @ awesomesauce!! You sound like my daughter! LMAO!
Ok must say, normally I do NOT like gold.. but this so works.. then again.. nothing you do doesn’t work!
    <3 it !!

  2. I Love your Card! The stripes in the background just pop right out. I’ve never thought about the tickets at all until seeing your card. Thanks for sharing it!

  3. ok, I admit it. I usually just quietly stalk your blog posts Justin, but today I have to comment!
1.) Surprised today to find the picture of us on your blog, and honored, to be considered awesomesauce by one of the greatest guys I have ever met! Love you to the moon and back, dear friend! ๐Ÿ™‚
2.) that joy tag is the total bomb! LOVE that you rounded the corners of the Real Red piece to highlight it’s shape with the Tag. Sometimes it’s just the littlest things that notch up the WOW factor and make a card pull together in synch! You are my “go to” guru for inspiration, and what an honor it was to finally spend time with you IN PERSON! Lucky me!! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I was trying to get you to comment Charlotte! LOL! Kidding! I was so happy to meet you! You are truly one of the nicest people I have ever met! And, I love the picture!
I’m so glad you like the card! I thought the tag was fun!

      I’m the lucky one!! XO

  4. What a great post convention card Justin–sorry I didn’t get to meet you there (I tried when I spotted you but couldn’t get through the crowd :-() but I sure enjoy the picture above & so envy Charlotte–bookended by 2 of SU’s brightest!
So glad you had a good time Justin & looking forward to more of your wonderful inspiration!

    1. Thank you Donna! I’m sorry that we missed each other, there were a ton of people there. Charlotte was great, and you are very kind! I had the best time and I’m looking forward to next year when I will get to meet you! ๐Ÿ™‚
