SUO Challenges & Display Project 3

Yup, it was definitely a Monday yesterday! It was a little long and busy, not my favorite day. How was your day yesterday? I did get to come home and craft though so all is was good in the end. ๐Ÿ™‚ Tonight I’m going out to dinner with my co-workers and that should be a lot of fun. I like them and I think we are having Mexican and I like that too! I have my third Display Stamper project for you at the end of the post so don’t forget to take a look, no cheating! LOL!

Today’s post is my card for the SUO Challenges Design Team. This time around we have a Back to School theme for you…

76 Back to School

I don’t really have anything current that I could think of so I dusted off an oldie but a goodie! The base of my card is Pacific Point Card Stock. The background is a piece of Real Red that I embossed with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Yes, I created the piece of notebook paper with my Stampin’ Write Markers and the “Vintage” Spiral Border Punch (a favorite of mine!). I used Melon Mambo and Pool Party as I thought they were the closest to actual notebook paper colors. All of the images are from the “Vintage” First Day Stamp Set. The A+ is punched out with the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch and backed with a piece of Gumball Green that is punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. I used some Whisper White Bakers Twine on the tag and the apples are punched out with the 1/2″ Circle Punch. I really love the primary colors and the images in the set are still pretty neat. I also love that Alphabet Press EF! Thank you for taking some time to stop by and see my SUO Challenges Design Team card for the Back to School challenge. Head on over to the blog and see what my talented team mates have done and enter your project in the gallery. I hope you have a great day and don’t forget about the Display Stamper 3 project at the end!

  1. Justin, Justin, Justin – you should use that stamp with “Awesome” all the way around it on everything you make. I can just hear your Long Island accent when you say it. A great card with very “primary” school colors. <—see what I did there? Love the board display card, too!

    1. Thank you Brian!! You are awesome!! Glad you like my “Vintage” card! I do see what you did, clever boy! Hello, Lovely is definitely a favorite! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I remember the school days. I always loved the first day of school to see my old friends and make new friends. After about a week I was ready for summer again – hahaha. Love the cards. Wish I had that spiral border punch – very nice.

  3. Your back to school card is simply fabulous … LOVE it! Every detail of the design is wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. How I love your school card! I’ve been retired six years now and I can still see my 34 years of teaching Pre-K through 12th grade English in your great card! Love the spiral punch, which I still have…hmmmm…I may have to case your delightful card to send to my still-employed friends! Nancy B

    1. Thank you Nancy! That makes me smile that it reminded you of your teaching days. The spiral punch is the best! Enjoy your day! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I think that you rocked the Back to School card! Love your colors, have to get that EF! There is not much out there for school and I would be hard put as well…think I have some of that cute DSP left from two years ago, yes I am a DSP hoarder! Lol! And loving your display card…am really liking our new Grunge stamp set…such a fun addition to our cards, especially the splotches!

    1. Thank you very much Carol! The EF is so cool! Aren’t we all DSP hoarders?!?! Back to school was tough, I was glad I had that set. Hello, Lovely is one of my current favorites! The Grunge set is cool too! Have a good day! ๐Ÿ™‚
