Create with Connie and Mary & Display Stamper 7

Good Morning from the Hamptons! I had a nice day yesterday apart from the intense traffic. It took a long time to get out her but it’s well worth the trip. You can just hear the ocean from the house that I’m staying in, so peaceful and calming. I spent some time with friends last night and had an impromptu BBQ. It’s nice to get away, even if just for a bit. I hope that your weekend is off to a good start too!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge…

CCMC 262

Some of my current favorite colors are in there! The base of my card is Smokey Slate Card Stock and the background is a piece of Bermuda Bay that is embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped one of the stamps from the July Paper Pumpkin in Bermuda Bay and Smokey Slate on some Whisper White and punched it out with the Hexagon Punch. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to a piece of Basic Black. The greeting is from the Yippee-Skippee Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay on a piece of Smokey Slate that I cut out with the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies. I cut out some more of the hexagon shapes with my Paper Snips and they too are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do love the color combination and the stamps that came with last month’s Paper Pumpkin and pretty neat! Thank you for coming by to see my Create with Connie and Mary card for this week’s challenge. Scroll down to the end of the post to see the first of my Display Projects using the Quatrefancy Suite. Have a very enjoyable day!

  1. Confession time – I haven’t fallen in love with the hexagons because the cards I have seen with them all look the same (to me). BUT I really like what you have done here. Very cool! And how can you resist the “I Freakin’ Love You” sentiment? Yippee-Skippee!

    1. Thank you Brian! I definitely have fallen in love with the hexagons. The sentiment is great too! Have a freakin’ awesome day! 🙂

  2. Hi JRK,
I really Love Hexs! They’re a little Jewel in their selves.
Couldn’t have picked the colors! Perfect!!!

  3. Fabulous cards. Love the way you used the hexagons. I seriously need to practice with my stamp-a-ma-jig – your’s are perfectly stamped. These cards look sooooo time consuming, but as talented as your are they probably just took a few minutes. 🙂

    1. Thanks Cynthia! It wasn’t a “quick” card but the trick with the hex pattern is using the punch! The Mosaic card did take a while but sometimes it’s worth it! 🙂

  4. Love the punched hexagons! That looks really cool! And I love those itty bitty hexies on the tag! Great layout! Thanks for playing the challenge at Create with Connie and Mary!

  5. Love the colors and the hexagons, Justin, and how you matched up the lines so perfectly! And Project 7 is so sweet and delicate. Isn’t that Strawberry Slush color yummy/delicious? Have a awesome time in the Hamptons; I am so jealous of you being by the ocean.

  6. What a great use of hexagons and these colors just work so nicely with them! Thanks for playing along this week in the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!

  7. Hi Justin, seeing as your card is so cool and I couldn’t have done better with those Hex’s I’ve also added a link to here for my followers to show your card. I did something completely different instead, however that it’s another butterfly card won’t surprise you in the least, LOL!

  8. Great idea to combine the Paper Pumpkin stamps! I LOVE how everything coordinates! Thanks for joining us in the color challenge this week at Create with Connie and Mary!

  9. How fun to just “run” out to the Hamptons or run into New York! I’ve never been out that way to visit…would be fun some day! Those hexes are just SO fun! Thanks for playing along with the color challenge this week on Create with Connie and Mary!

    1. Yes Connie, it is one of the perks of living on Long Island. I think you would love Manhattan and the Hamptons is great fun too! Glad you like the card and I hope you have a great week! 🙂

  10. I absolutely love the CCM card and here’s why: it has a very philosophical feel to it, whether you intended that or not. Randomness and order, individuality and society all exist here and the balance is stunning. Well done, Justin!

    1. Thank you Chellie! I didn’t intend it but I did see it when I was finished. I’m so glad you liked the card and thanks for the comment!

  11. What a cute idea with the miniature hexagons and I too love the stamps from My Paper Pumpkin! Thanks for stamping with us this week at Create with Connie & Mary!

Oh by the way, I left you a personal message on Stampin’ Connection 🙂

  12. Justin, your card is stunning! So creative to use three sizes of hexagons and each is so different; they could stand alone but are so much more presented together! Love it! Thanks for joining us this week for the Create with Connie and Mary color challenge!

  13. Fantastic card Justin!! The geometric pattern looks amazing with these colors. Perfection as always! So glad you joined us for the color challenge this week at Create with Connie and Mary!
