Pals Paper Arts 166 & Display Project 8

Good day! I had a nice time in the Hamptons and then I had breakfast with Kim, Joe and the kiddies. It was rainy here until the afternoon when it cleared up and we got some sun. How is your weekend going so far? I have a little picture of the beach I went to on Friday…Amagansett Beach

It’s a little overcast in the picture but the water was a lovely temperature and the sand was nice and soft. We went for a nice walk along the water and it was bliss!

On to the post! Today I have my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts and we have a color challenge from them…

PPA 166

A nice color combo and I decided to go with a freestyle collage card that I got the inspiration for from Pinterest. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Build a Banner Simply Created kit and a Sponge Dauber with some Smokey Slate to create the right side on the background piece. Two pieces of paper from the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack are layered on top. The tag is the World Map Background Stamp in Daffodil Delight and half of a piece of Smokey Slate punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch is on top. I used the Oh, Hello Stamp Set and some Strawberry Slush on Whisper White punched out with the Label Bracket Punch with a 1″ square and some Gingham Garden Washi Tape to back the greeting that is from the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set. A piece of Linen Thread tied in a bow completes the tag. Some chevrons punched out with the Chevron Border Punch and a circle cut out from Smokey Slate with the Circles Collection Framelits Dies finishes the card. I love the random products that can go so well together. Thanks very much for coming by to see my Pals Paper Arts card for this week’s color challenge. Take a little scroll down to see my second card from the Mosaic Display Stamper projects. Enjoy your Sunday!

  1. Everything is fabulous today. Umm, where’s the people on the beach – or did you guys have it all to yourself? That card is awesome – so many layers. Such a fun card. I really like the convention card – could change it into an occasional card – Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine, etc.

  2. Justin, I absolutely love this card. There are quite a lot of items included here (I would have stopped seven layers before you), but that’s what I love about it. A lot of stuff – but it works PERFECTLY on this card. Your circle is a stroke of brilliance, and the way you use the Bracket punch blows my mind. Awesome!

    1. Thank you Brian! Yes, there is a lot but that’s the Freestyle Collage look and I’m loving it lately. I’m so glad you like the card! Have an awesomely fantastic day! 🙂

  3. Wow, fabulous combination of items…colors and great collage of everything…very masculine! But anyone would appreciate card….would be great framed!

  4. The freestyle collage is my favorite type of card to create-I can include little bits of minutia that mean something personal from me to the ‘sendee.’ Love the map background, too! Thanx for sharing the beach pic.

  5. Wow! Both of your cards are great in their own right! Love all the layers and that scallop circle frame sets everything off and draws you in. We’re so glad you joined us at the Pals Paper Arts this week!

  6. Oh my gosh, your creativity never ceases to amaze me! The design and details are incredible. Seriously, I could just look at this card all day! Fabulous! Thanks for sharing with us at Pals Paper Arts this week!

  7. OMG! Love this card for so many reasons! I just love all the different layers and your freestyle collage rocks!! It looks like you invented it! The picture of the beach is Beautiful!

  9. Normally I follow your friend Brian King, but when I saw this on the PPA, I just had to jump over and tell you how great I thought it was! What a great way to use those circle framelits! Thanks for the inspiration!
