A merry Sunday to you! I had a nice day yesterday, I got some projects finished in the morning and had a great time at the block party. I got to see lots of friends and play with the kiddies. It was a pretty nice day, overcast and it only sprinkled just for a little bit. Today there is a chance of some rain but so far it’s not bad. I will get some more projects done and play a little too. What are you all up to?
For today’s post I have a simple Christmas card for you. It’s for the Chevron Challenge over at Catherine & Cathy Create. The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock and the background is a piece of Crumb Cake. I stamped the greeting from the Joy to the World Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler right on the background. The Merry is cut from Cherry Cobbler using the Expressions Thinlits Dies and adhered to the base using some 2-Way Glue. I punched out Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake with the Chevron Border Punch and adhered them to a strip of Crumb Cake. Some Stampin’ DImensionals adhere them to the card. I really like the simplicity and the the way that the Expressions Thinlit goes with the greeting. Thank you for stopping by to see my simple Merry Sunday card. Be sure to stop by the Catherine & Cathy Create blog to see the other projects! Have a very nice day Everyone!

Love how the cherry cobbler and crumb cake look together!!!!
The big “Merry” for the sentiment, adds a nice touch! And the chevron arrow sets and pulls the card all together! Fantastic!!!
Thank you Vicki! Simple but fun! Enjoy the rest of your day! 🙂
GREAT card, Justin! It is stunning in its simplicity.
Thanks Christine! We need a little simple sometimes! 🙂
Justin,
What a great card! I love every single detail of this card! I love how you added the expression thinlits to the greeting! Now I HAVE to get them! I have been putting it off but this card sealed the deal!
Have a great Sunday!
Donna
I love the simplicity of this card. Great color combo, too. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Justin!
Thank you Sandy! You enjoy the rest of your weekend too! 🙂
Love this card! I had alittle trouble using the expression thinlits. Any suggestions? Yesterday, we went to the movies and watched Percy Jackson. Then we played and sent time with our grandbaby. Today, might be a lazy day. But I think my husband wants to go to the Auburn Car Auction. I think I’ll let him and I’ll stay home to relax.
Thank you Melinda! If you put some wax paper in between the card stock and die it makes it a lot easier to get it out! SOunds like you have had a nice weekend so far t too! I think today will be a lazy day too! 🙂
Oh Thank You, I’ll try that! I also have the same problem with the dolly die can I try the same technique?
Welcome Melinda! I have never tried it with the Doily Die, I don’t think it would do any harm. Let me know how that works. 🙂
Great card! Did you adhere a bunch of the chevron punches to a strip of paper or did you punch a strip and then pop the pieces of a second color into the punched out slots? I won’t get my punch until Tuesday and I can’t wait!
Thanks Theresa! Yes I did exactly that. 🙂
Which one, LOL?
LOL! Theresa, can you tell I was tired?! I punched them out and adhered them to a strip of CS!
Don’t worry, I’ve been there plenty of times myself. Fortunately, when I want to know something I can be rather persistent, LOL. I wondered about it because the spacing looked too even! I guess you are really just that good!
LOL! Thanks for your understanding Theresa! 🙂
Love this card Justin! All the different elements really do go perfectly together 🙂
Thank you very much Shellie! Enjoy your day! 🙂
