Mojo 310

Well, you all know what today is… it’s Friday! I want to thank everyone that took time yesterday and the day before to wish me a happy birthday. A huge thanks to Brian for encouraging the wishes! You all really made my day with your comments, it was one of the best birthday’s ever! I also want to thank my friend Danielle who made me German Chocolate Cupcakes with Coconut Pecan Frosting from scratch!! They were so delicious!

Thank you so much for the cards, they made the day even better!

Now for today’s post, which is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week’s sketch is provided by Juliee Tilman…

I don’t normally use a “busy background paper” but I think the big square in the middle evens everything out a bit. The base of today’s card is Basic Gray Card Stock and the background is a piece of Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper. The square in the middle is Raspberry Ripple that I embossed with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A piece of Basic Gray and a flagged piece of Summer Starfruit go up the left side. The stars are from the Simply Stars Stamp Set and are stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe, Bermuda Bay, and Gumball Green. The “vintage” Star Punch provides an easy way to cut them out and they are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay and punched out with the Large Oval Punch. I like the way that the stripes in the candles, the background and the stars all help to coordinate the different elements. Thank you very much for coming by to see my Mojo Monday card for this week’s Sketch Challenge! I hope you enjoyed my birthday cards as much as I did and a big thank you to my friends for sending them! Have yourselves a great Friday! 🙂

  1. What a wonderful collection of birthday cards from some really special people. It was such a pleasure to help you celebrate your special day. Moving on…love this card. I like how you counterbalanced the “busy-ness” of the background paper with bold, solid shapes in the center of the card. Very nice!

  2. Good Morning! How do you find time (and inspiration!) to make such wonderful cards every day? I enjoy your site immensely and appreciate you doing it! I also love to read how your days has been and what your plans are!! I believe you would be disappointed moving to Florida – the roaches are so bad they can cart you away, it is humid beyond belief and it is hurricane alley. Other than that and the huge crowds, it does have lovely beaches!
