It was a little on the chilly side here yesterday and it’s supposed to start raining today and not stop until Saturday. Like I said, there goes the nice weather. I’m off to Manhattan today for my day job. I have a meeting in the morning and then I have to visit one of our affiliates in the afternoon. I’m going to sneak lunch in with my friend Kim though which makes it all worth it. I commuted to the city for six years and I was over it after 2! It’s a long day and my hats off to the people that do it every day. Later it’s off to the gym again!
My card for today is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week’s sketch is provided by Julee Tilman…
I had a lot of fun using the gold and black on my card yesterday, so I decided to use them again today! The base of today’s card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. The background is a piece of Basic Black that I embossed with the Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock is cut out with the Circles Collections Framelits Dies and adhered to the background with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Next up is a piece of “Vintage” Basic Black 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon that goes across the center. The flag is a piece of Modern Medley Designer Series Paper. I choose the greeting from the Four You Stamp Set and heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black and layered it with a piece of Brushed Gold and Very Vanilla. A Neutrals Designer Series Button completes the card. I really do like the black and gold together, I think it makes for a very elegant card, and the embossing folder coordinates perfectly with the DSP.
