Yesterday was extremely windy here and it rained a little too. I did have a nice relaxing day. I puttered around the house in the morning and then met Heather and we did some shopping and had lunch. When I came back home I sat down and completed a few projects and listened to some music. All in all a very nice day. I hope that you enjoyed the pictures of Manhattan yesterday, I’m going to make an effort to included some people, possibly me, in some of the future pictures!
Since it’s Monday that means that it’s time to play along with the Paper Players again! This week we have a fall color challenge from clever Ann…
I was going to go along with the obvious and make a fall card but we all know how I like to go and do something unexpected! The base of my card is Tangerine Tango Card Stock and there is a layer of Crushed Curry on top of that. My background is created using the Filmstrip Stamp and some Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango and Chocolate Chip ink. With the help of my Stamp-a-ma-jig lining them up was nice and easy. To cut down a little on the boldness of the background I created a frame with the Squares Collection Framelits from some Whisper White and used a piece of Vellum Card Stock as a background for my images. The frame is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The flowers and bird are from the Morning Medley Host(ess) Stamp Set and are stamped in Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango for the flowers and the bird in Chocolate Chip. The flowers are punched out with the Pansy Punch and the bird is cut out with my Paper Snips. My greeting is from the Banner Greetings Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Chocolate Chip and also cut out with my Paper Snips. I stamped the Wish Big on the frame from the A Dozen Thought Stamp Set and a few sequins complete my card. I love the bold background but appreciate the way the vellum softens it so as not to take away from the images.
