Paper Craft Crew 71 & More Sneak Peeks

Remember I said it was going to snow here yesterday? Well, it did, big flakes for a while. Thankfully it only settled on the grass and not the road. Work was nice again yesterday and my boss Nancy gave me a rosary that she had blessed on her trip to Israel where Christ was anointed and also in the Church of Bethlehem. That’s a pretty big deal, and I’m not very religious and know that! I have to admit that I felt a little different after she gave it to me. I can’t explain exactly how, but I did. I also had some “tangent time” with Andrew last night, always a good time, not very productive but fun! LOL!

Today I have my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

A very geometric filled sketch so that’s what I went with. The base of the card is Basic Gray Card Stock and for the background I used a piece of the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper*. My tag is created using the Angled Tag Topper Punch* and a piece of Smoky Slate with some Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon threaded through the top. The triangles and circles are form the Geometrical Stamp Set* and are stamped in Strawberry Slush, Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry. The circles are punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch and the triangles with the Triangle Punch*. My greeting is from the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set* and is stamped in Bermuda Bay and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits*. I thought it needed a little something more to balance it so I punched out some Basic Black with the Chevron Border Punch and adhered all of the pieces with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I don’t usually use a background that is as busy as the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper but I figured I would give it a try. You’ll have to let me know what you think! Mojo 323 & Sneak Peek

Work was… dare I say… pleasant?! I did have to take a little 30 mile ride to East Setauket for a little media set up, but again, out of the office is always a good thing! It was rainy and cold here all day yesterday and we are supposed to get some snow here today. Ugh, that’s all I’ll say about that. I had my crafty time so that makes everything better! Love playing with new goodies!

Today’s card is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch challenge provided by Julee Tilman…

I used some new goodies from the upcoming Sale-A-Bration Catalog and some from the 2014 Occasions Catalog! The base of today’s card is Pool Party Card Stock. My strip of paper on the left is from the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper Pack**. I adhered it to a piece of Sahara Sand for extra stability and wrapped some Linen Thread around it before adhering it to the base. A piece of Gold Foil Sheet cut out with the Starburst Framelits Dies* is the first layer for my stamped images. Next up is a piece of Whisper White that I punch out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. All of the stamped images are from the Petal Parade Stamp Set** and are stamped in Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe and Summer Starfruit. I used the 1 3/4″ and 1 1/4″ Circle Punches to punch them out and some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them in place. My greeting is from the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set* and is stamped in Sahara Sand and cut out with the Word Bubble Framelits Dies*. I love the colors in the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper* and I still can’t get enough of the gold! Thank you very much for stopping by to see my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. Paper Players 175 & Sneak Peek

I had a nice Sunday and hope that you did too! I woke up a little late yesterday morning but I still managed to get some stuff done that I had on my list. I went and met my friend Heather and we had some lunch and ran some errands. I came home and completed some of my projects and worked on my presentation. It snowed here for a little bit, not my favorite thing to see falling from the sky! It was only a little bit but more than enough for me! It’s supposed to be rainy today so I’ll be glad to get home later. Hopefully work will be quiet… ha!

I wanted to thank Ann for choosing my card for her Cut Above for last week’s challenge. You can see my original post here and the Paper Players post here. The inspiration for today’s card comes from this week’s Paper Players Challenge. The lovely Anne Marie has given us these colors to work with…

Even with the pink in there I saw a Christmas card! LOL! I also used some goodies from the 2014 Occasions Catalog, you can get your hands on them starting January 3rd! My card starts off with a base of Raspberry Ripple Card Stock and I used my favorite new die the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die* to cut out some Whisper White for my background. Some Silver Glimmer Paper and the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies make the snowflake. The flagged piece of Old Olive is the backing for some of the Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum*. My tag is made using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch* and Old Olive. I stamped some images from the Very Merry Tags Stamp Set in Raspberry Ripple and Pink Pirouette and punched them out with the Mosaic Punch. The rest of the images and greeting are form the A Banner Christmas Stamp Set. I used the Word Window Punch to punch out the Christmas and backed it with a piece of Brushed Silver Card Stock that I cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. To complete the card I used some matte silver and metallic silver sequins, I do love some sequins! The Hexagon Hive Die is definitely my favorite new product from the Occasions Catalog. I love the way that some of the hexagons are cut out and some are left so the base peeks through. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge from Anne Marie. Just Add Ink 194

I did quite some running around yesterday. I had to make a few stops and head over to my parent’s house for a few minutes. Luckily enough, my friend Danielle decided to come with me to the a cappella concert yesterday! We left around 4 o’clock and got there right around 7 since we had to stop along the way for some sustenance. Yesterday was a bad food day. I had McDonald’s for lunch which I haven’t had in years and I had to slum it and have Dunkin’ Donuts because the Starbucks stores in Connecticut all closed early! Since I was already at Dunkin’, I decided to pick up a glazed donut too… oops! Like I said, bad food day. The concert, however, was excellent and the trip was well worth it. As promised, I have some pictures for you. Below you’ll find a picture of the outside of the Repertory Theater in New Britain, CT (it’s actually a converted house) and a picture of me and my friend Andrew (not a good picture of me, but a picture nonetheless).

Today’s card is for this week’s Just Add Ink challenge and they have asked us to “Just Add Santa”…

The base of my card is a piece of Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. On top of that is a piece of Always Artichoke and my background is the postcard stamp, stamped in Always Artichoke on a piece of Very Vanilla. I used the script from French Foliage for the quote writing on the left side. The Santa image is from the Best of Christmas Stamp Set and is stamped in Jet Black Staz-On and colored in with Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke and Blush Blossom Stampin’ Write Markers. I created the frame with the Squares Collection Framelits Dies and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My tag was created using the new Scallop Tag Topper Punch*, I modified it slightly by cutting 1/4″ off of each side so it would fit the greeting a little better. Speaking of the greeting, it comes from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. Before I adhered the tag to the card, I “edged” it with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to make it stand out a little more. Pals Paper Arts 182

Yesterday was a fun day! I went to bed Thursday night at 12:30, got up at 4:15 was at work at 6:15, I told my boss around 9:15 that I wasn’t going to make the whole day. I left work at 1:00 and came home and passed out for four hours, I felt much better after my nap! LOL! I had some dinner, crafted and even watched a movie! Not a bad day after all! I’ll be going to CT later on to see Andrew and Satellite Lane solo, Kim can’t make it. I might be able to convince Danielle to come, or endure four hours of solitude in a car, I’ll let you know how that goes!!

Today I have some more sneak peeks including some goodies from the 2014 Sale-A-Bration Catalog! The base of the card is Elegant Eggplant Card Stock. My background is the new Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die* and is cut from a piece of Very Vanilla. The greeting is from the You’re Lovely Stamp Set** and is stamped in Elegant Eggplant on Smoky Slate and cut out with the Deco Labels Framelits. The cluster of flowers is stamped in Elegant Eggplant on Smoky Slate and Very Vanilla using the Petite Petals Stamp Set* and punched out with the Petite Petals Punch*. They are all adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I absolutely love the new Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die. It cuts out enough of the color you use while still letting the background peek through, it’s awesome! Freshly Made Sketches 115

T G I F!! This week could not have come to an end quickly enough. To give you an idea of what my day was like yesterday, by the time 1:00 rolled around, I had walked 6 miles… in the office. Who needs the gym?! My post is very early today because as I have already complained about (LOL), I have to be at work at 6:15 this morning. But soon, it will all be done and I will come home for a nap. Yay! Tomorrow I’m off to Connecticut with my friend Kim to see my friend Andrew sing. What are you up to this weekend?

My inspiration for today’s card comes from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches…

The card today uses all pre-order stuff from the new Occasions Catalog. The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. The strip starts off with a piece of Tangerine Tango and I cut both sides using the Small Scallop Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Blade, the piece of paper is from the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper Pack*. My frames, cameras and arrow are cut out using the On Film Framelits Dies*, the frames from Baked Brown Sugar and the arrow and cameras from Coastal Cabana. I used a hole punch to punch out some Gold Foil Sheet for the lenses on the cameras. The greeting comes from the Hip Notes Stamp Set* and is stamped in Coastal Cabana on the arrow. Like I said yesterday, I’m really loving the new stuff and I think it’s neat that the framelits actually emboss the camera and cut it out at the same time. Mojo 322

Thankfully, only one more day left until my Friday! Yes, it will be an early one but it will still be Friday! I got my box of pre-order goodies yesterday and I spent some quality time in the craft area last night. So much fun new stuff! I made a card which I will post tomorrow from one of my favorite new stamp sets and coordinating framelits. I still have some stamp sets to mount and a lot of organizing to do but it’s all good! Today’s card is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge which is provided by Julee Tilman…

I decided to make a traditional card today. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock and the background is a piece of Old Olive which is embossed with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Layered on top of that is a piece of Season of Style Designer Series Paper which is backed with another piece of Cherry Cobbler. Across the middle is a piece of Baked Brown Sugar and adhered around the back is some Cherry Cobbler 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon. Next up is the greeting which is from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Old Olive, cut out with the Deco Label Collection Framelits and backed with a piece of Cherry Cobbler cut out with the same Framelits. A traditional Christmas card is not an every day occurrence on my blog and I hope you enjoyed it. I really like the way the Alphabet Press Embossing Folder strangely compliments the DSP. As you know, I’m always happy to have a visit from you! Here’s to a wonderful Thursday (and a quick one so we can get to Friday)!! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 70

Last year at work it was kind of quiet around this time, this year, not so much. I had another field trip this morning and a second one in the afternoon! Not that I’m complaining, because I do like to get out of the office. Who knows what today will bring? Stay tuned tomorrow to find out! LOL! And Friday I get to go to work at 6:15 in the morning. YAY! Can you feel the excitement? I hope your week is going better than mine is. Well, I do get my new goodies today from my pre-order, that will make everything better!!

On a happier note, today I have my Design Team post for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. We have a fun one this week that you can layer up…

For the base of my card I used a piece of Chocolate Chip Card Stock. The background is a piece of Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper and the Soft Sky edge on the right side is created with the Small Scallop Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Cutting Blade. The next layer is a piece Crushed Curry that I embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and backed with another piece of Chocolate Chip. My greeting is from the Six Sided Sampler Stamp Set and is stamped in Tangerine Tango and Chocolate Chip, I backed it with a piece of Soft Sky that is punched out with the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and two Tangerine Tango flags stem from the bottom. To complete the card, I stamped the bee from the Backyard Basics Stamp Set in Basic Black and cut him out with the Backyard Basics Framelits, a Stampin’ Dimensional holds him in place. Funnily enough, I realized after I finished the card that the greeting pairs quite nicely with the bee and the honeycomb! SUO Challenges 85

It was a nice day here yesterday, it got up into the 50’s but boy did it get cold last night! I went to my friend Sandy’s for Stamp-A-Stack (it helps me get a bunch of cards done to send out!) which is always a good time. I have to polish my Leadership presentation and get started on the visual part next. I’m so excited to be doing it but still a bit nervous at the same time. I want it to be the best! How was your day?

Every other Tuesday it’s time for another post for SUO Challenges. This time we ask that you make a non-traditional Christmas card. Well, we all know how I love that!! My card starts off with a base of Strawberry Slush Card Stock. I used my sunburst Window Sheet template to create my background using a sponge dauber and some Coastal Cabana ink. My image is from the Joyful Christmas Stamp Set and is stamped in Strawberry Slush on Blushing Bride and cut out with my Paper Snips. I used the Owl Builder Punch to punch out some So Saffron dots for the middle of the flower. The greeting is from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set, stamped in the same colors and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch. My poinsettia and greeting are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A very non-traditional Christmas card but if you think about it the pinks and blue-green are not that far away from red and green and that sunburst template has come in quite handy! Yesterday was another pretty relaxing day. I got some crafting done, cleaned and organized my craft stuff. I need to make some room as yesterday started the Demonstrator Pre-Order for the 2014 Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration! Now on to today’s post. It’s Monday and that means it’s time for the Paper Players! This week we have a fun challenge from Lovely LeAnne…

I was quite happy when I saw this because a little over a month ago I made a card that works perfectly for this challenge. I got my inspiration from Pinterest and I was saving it… just for this… yeah… that’s right! LOL! The base of my card is Gumball Green Card Stock. The little strip of paper across the bottom is from the Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper Pack. All of my images are stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla. The pine branches are from the “Vintage” Watercolor Winter Stamp Set and are stamped and stamped-off in Always Artichoke. My circles are from various middles of stamp sets and are stamped and stamped-off in Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, So Saffron and Blushing Bride. I choose my greeting from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and it is stamped in Coastal Cabana. Finally some sequins are randomly placed in coordinating colors. I love the way the circles and sequins look like lights on a tree and the mix of colors is just fun! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Evergreen challenge from LeAnne.
