Paper Craft Crew 71 & More Sneak Peeks

Remember I said it was going to snow here yesterday? Well, it did, big flakes for a while. Thankfully it only settled on the grass and not the road. Work was nice again yesterday and my boss Nancy gave me a rosary that she had blessed on her trip to Israel where Christ was anointed and also in the Church of Bethlehem. That’s a pretty big deal, and I’m not very religious and know that! I have to admit that I felt a little different after she gave it to me. I can’t explain exactly how, but I did. I also had some “tangent time” with Andrew last night, always a good time, not very productive but fun! LOL!

Today I have my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS071 12-11-2013

A very geometric filled sketch so that’s what I went with. The base of the card is Basic Gray Card Stock and for the background I used a piece of the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper*.  My tag is created using the Angled Tag Topper Punch* and a piece of Smoky Slate with some Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon threaded through the top. The triangles and circles are form the Geometrical Stamp Set* and are stamped in Strawberry Slush, Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry. The circles are punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch and the triangles with the Triangle Punch*. My greeting is from the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set* and is stamped in Bermuda Bay and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits*. I thought it needed a little something more to balance it so I punched out some Basic Black with the Chevron Border Punch and adhered all of the pieces with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I don’t usually use a background that is as busy as the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper but I figured I would give it a try. You’ll have to let me know what you think! Thanks for stopping by to see my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Hop on over to the blog to see what the others have done and enter your card in the gallery and you could be one of our featured artists next week! Enjoy your Wednesday peeps! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin! I love this card! These are some of my favorite colors…bright and cheery! That little triangle punch is so cute. I think the addition of the black chevrons was a wonderful idea, looks great! Can’t wait to dive into my box of goodies that came yesterday. You’ve provided some great inspiration for me! Have a great Wednesday…keep warm! Spring is on it’s way! 😉

    1. Thank you so much Karen! I’m so happy that I get to give you inspiration! I love the colors too! Have fun with your new goodies! I’m trying to keep warm but it’s really cold today! Yes, spring will be here before we know it. Enjoy your day! 😉

  2. That’s a very happy card! I like all the details and bright colors. And I must say that your boss Nancy presented you with a very special gift, a meaningful treasure. I can understand how you felt “different” after receiving it.

  3. Oh my gosh Justin – you are so blessed to receive such a very, very special rosary from your boss! What a thoughtful thing for her to bring back for you. I would consider that a once in a lifetime treasure for sure.

I must say that I came to the computer half asleep this morning but boy, your card woke me right up! Bright and happy doesn’t even begin to describe this creation. I would change the title to “your invited” because I think that would make the best party invitation EVER! I know I’d want to attend. Great job. Stay warm.

We are supposed to get a big storm Friday evening into Saturday. Do you have that forecast also?

    1. Thanks Grace! Yes, I do and have decided to carry it with me when I can. She is pretty great! LOL! Glad I could be your “coffee” this morning! That’s a good idea about the greeting! Yes, we are also supposed to get snow again. Boo! 🙂

  4. Very cheery card on this very snowy day her in SW Ontario…. My own (first) box of goodies should be delivered today (fingers crossed with the snow!) and I can’t wait to see it all. And I guess comes January you will have 2 sets of Geometrical* LOL
I do find the paper very busy but not “dizzying” like the chevrons one for example. Great card.

    1. Thank you Louise! I hope that you get your goodies, you are going to have fun! Yes, I will have two sets of Geometrical, but I really liked it so I decided that I couldn’t wait! 🙂

  5. Really like the design of your card and all the new goodies you used. I’m really loving these colors. Mr. UPS man should deliver my pre-order to my doorstep sometime today. Can’t wait. Unfortunately I won’t have the Kaleidoscope DSP, it’s looks wonderful. That means only one thing, another order is in the near future. Merry Christmas to me!
