Geometrical Love

Happy Sunday! I hope that you are all having a good weekend! I had a very nice day in Manhattan yesterday. I took the 7:11 train in and stopped at Starbucks before I went to see my friends Jim and Diane. I always enjoy visiting them, they are such great people. I left there around 12:00 and spoke to Andrew who decided to come in and meet Kim and I for lunch. We went to our favorite diner and when we finished Andrew and I decided to wander around a bit. We went to cross 2nd Avenue and Andrew saw this sign…

JRK Zone

How neat is that, my initials! I had to take a picture, that will probably never happen again! Next up is a picture of Andrew and I that Kim took. I never remember to take any pictures of my peeps, but I did yesterday!

Andrew Justin 2nd Ave

Finally when we were headed back uptown Andrew suggested that I take a picture of the MetLife and Helmsley buildings down Park Avenue. It looked kinda neat all lit up!

So there are some little snapshots from our adventure yesterday in Manhattan! And now on to today’s post. Every once in a while I get to sit down and make a bunch of cards that have nothing to do with challenges, they’re kind of “just because” cards. Today’s card is one of those…

My card base is Smoky Slate Card Stock. I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped the triangles from the Geometrical Stamp Set in Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Strawberry Slush. The greeting, also from the same set, is stamped in Strawberry Slush and my Stamp-a-ma-jig helped me line all of them up. Some Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper is cut into a square, backed with some Whisper White and I used the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies to cut the heart out of the middle. A few Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card and let the stamped images underneath peek through the heart. For a little extra pizzazz, I cut one of the arrows from the Label Card Thinlits Dies from a piece of Silver Foil Sheet and adhered that on top of the DSP with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. A relatively simple card with a modern twist. I really like the popped up DSP with the heart cut out of the middle! I hope you enjoyed my different take on a Valentine today, thank you as always for stopping by and also sharing in my adventure in Manhattan! Have a wonderful day!
