Paper Craft Crew 85

Have I mentioned that it’s still pretty cold here?! I’m hoping that when the first day of Spring arrives that weather just changes! What do you think the chances of that happening are?! I can always hope! LOL! Yesterday is a bit of a blur, work was busy and I came home and worked on some projects and by the time I looked at the time it was 9:30. My neck is feeling a little better, I followed some advice from Grace and it helped immensely! Thanks! 🙂

It’s Wednesday so that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

My obsession with tags continues! LOL! The base of today’s card is Pool Party Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper Pack. My tag is created with the Angled Tag Topper Punch and some Whisper White. I stamped the images from the Petal Parade Stamp Set in Pistachio Pudding, you can also just see one of the flowers, stamped in Summer Starfruit, peeking out from underneath. My bird is from the Backyard Basics Stamp Set, stamped in Basic Black on Sahara Sand and cut out with the Backyard Basics Framelits. I used my Pool Party, Crisp Cantaloupe and Summer Starfruit Stampin’ Write Markers to give him some color. A piece of twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack is threaded through the top and left long to give it some “movement”. Tucked under the tag is a piece of Vellum Card Stock that I flagged and the greeting that is form the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set stamped in Basic Black. To finish the card I used one of the In-Color Boutique Details Buttons. So what do you think? I love that little bird and we already covered the tags! LOL! I thank you for coming by to see my Design Team Card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch. 1. Glad to see the Angled Tag Topper today, we must not shove it to the side. I think the Scalloped Topper steals the ‘lime light’ cause it’s so darn cute. Like how the vellum flag makes the DSP soft and muted. I must use it more. How playful the peeking flower is peeking out. Nice. You said it, that bird is so stinkin cute with a little smirk on his face. I think he’s as excited as I am. First day of Spring is tomorrow. Yippee finally!

    1. I agree Lisa, it doesn’t get as much play as the scalloped one but it’s just as cool! I do love a little vellum and I need to use it more too. I think that we all anxious for spring to get here! I will be quite happy to say goodbye to winter! 🙂

  2. Good Morning Justin-I am so glad your neck is feeling better. This is such a sweet and gentle card. I love the sweet sorbet paper so much and you have showcased it beautifully here!

    1. Hello Marty!
Yes, it is a little better, thanks! Thank you, I’m so glad you like the card! I do love that DSP! Have a very nice day! 🙂

  3. Hi Justin:
For some reason I forget about the vellum. I know I have it and I know it’s right there in the file cabinet in a file folder all of it’s own but I never remember it when I’m making cards. I’m going to print out this card you made and tape it to the front of the file cabinet full of paper and maybe that will remind me that I have it and to use it. Thanks for the reminder that vellum can add so much to a card. Glad your neck is a bit better. Have a happy Hump day!

    1. Hello Grace!
I tend to forget vellum too. I will have to stick a piece on my desk so I remember it too! It really does add a lot! Thanks to you my neck is feeling better! Happy Hump Day to you too! 🙂

  4. Hi Justin! Love your Springtime card!! That little bird is so cute! Those tag topper punches are wonderful…I think I’ll be using those for a long time! I am working with some vellum right now, I kind of forget to use it. It does add a lot to the card doesn’t it? So glad that your neck is better…thank you Nurse Grace! 😉 I’ll have to keep that remedy in mind also. Have a great day Justin and thanks so much for sharing with us!

    1. Hello Karen!
Thank you! The bird really is very cute! The Tag Topper Punches are cool, maybe they will come with more. We all need a little reminder from time to time! I love vellum! I really like it heat embossed! Nurse Grace is great! I hope that you have a wonderful day, thanks for coming by! 🙂

  5. Hi Justin,
What a great card! I have not used my Backyard Basics set in a long time! I need to dust it off. This is a great first day of spring card (tomorrow) but it sets the mood!
Thanks for sharing, have a great Wednesday!
    Donna

    1. Hello Donna!
Thank you! I had forgotten about it too! I have some more spring goodies for later on (Control Freaks Hop) so be sure to stop back! Enjoy the rest of your day! 🙂

  6. Your gorgeous card is indeed very Springtime…. can’t wait for it. Very gray and gloomy here today. It’s raining actually but at least it is not the freezing rain they had predicted. Glad to see your neck is getting better…thanks to Nurse Grace. Take care.

    1. Thank you Louise! I can’t wait for Spring either! It was overcast here today and is to rain tonight. Nurse Grace rocks! LOL! Enjoy your evening! 🙂

  7. I just love all the elements you gather together to make one of your beautiful cards. The Backyard Basics stamps are among my favorite, and the fact that they come with Framelits is such a bonus for me. I am glad your neck feels better. Thanks, Grace, what a great idea! My cousin said it is freezing there, so think sunny & warm. We have rain and dampness. Have a relaxing day! Nancy B

    1. Thank you so much Nancy! I do love a stamp set that has matching Framelits too! Yes, I was quite happy to have Grace’s advice, it worked! It is cold here but supposed to get into the 50’s tomorrow. I am always thinking warm thoughts!! I hope that you had a very nice day despite the rain! 🙂
