SUO Challenges 93

Oh Monday why must you be so mean! LOL! Nah, it actually wasn’t too bad for a Monday. Work was the usual crazy and when I got to my parents for dinner my brother, his wife and the baby were there. Oh, and my child was there too! Little Daniel is a cutie, I love his hair and he smiles for me all the time! I posted a picture of him to Instagram last night and it was over on the right on the feed on my blog but for those of you that missed it here he is in all his cuteness!

Daniel 3-24-2014

And if you look at the pictures in the background they are of Taylor when she was little, she was a cutie too, oh alright she still is!

Before I get to today’s post I was over on Mary Fish’s blog yesterday and I noticed that her supply list was quite neat and cool looking. At the end it said try Stampin’ Buddy free. I clicked on the link and came to a very non-descript page with Demo ID and Product Number spaces. I typed them in and it created a clickable supply list. I’m trying it out and you’ll have to let me know what you think of it!

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our Boxes, Bags and Baskets challenge. I haven’t made a box in a long time so I was quite happy to get to work! My box is made from Wisteria Wonder and Calypso Coral Card Stock. I used my Simply Scored, Paper Snips and Sticky Strip to assemble it. The belly band is a piece of Whisper White and on top is a piece of Wisteria Wonder that I punched out with the Curly Label Punch. I finally got to use my Spiral Flower Bigz Die with some Calypso Coral. The flower is quite easy to make, a run through the Big Shot, some rolling and a bit of hot glue and done! The Easter egg is from the Eggstra Spectacular Stamp Set and is stamped in Wisteria Wonder and punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. Some “Vintage” Wisteria Wonder Bakers Twine holds it in place. I couldn’t just have the box, it needed a little card too. The card is a piece of Whisper White Card Stock with a piece of Calypso Coral ย embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. The stamp is also from the Eggstra Spectacular Stamp Set and is stamped in Wisteria Wonder and also punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. My little flowers are Wisteria Wonder punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack with some Basic Jewels Pearls in the middles. The box would make a great place to put some jelly beans which I would have done but I finished the bag the other night! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my project for the SUO Challenges Boxes and Bags challenge. Head on over to the blog to see what my fellow Design Team members have done and enter your project in the gallery for us to see! I hope that you all have a great Tuesday and thank you, as always, for coming by! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Good Morning Justin, Love the card so much. The colors are so Easter-y. The box is gorgeous and sure will hold a lot! I do like the pics of the products you used and the list. If it is easy for you, I’d use it everyday. It looks great and pictures say a thousand words. Looks at Daniel’s picture . . . surely no one can look at that pic and not smile and have pleasant thoughts . . . happy, family, love! Have a good day, keep warm and hope for no snow. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Good morning Nancy! Thank you! Yes, I thought that Wisteria and Calypso were good Easter colors! The list is pretty easy to set up and if you click it takes you right to the store which is kind of neat. Daniel is such a happy little guy and he smiles every time that he sees me. You definitely can’t help but smile when you look at him. I hope that you have a nice day too and yes, no snow please! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Hi Justin! Oh my, that little Daniel is just a darling! One happy little guy! You should post us an updated picture of Taylor…if she’ll let you. LOL! Love your projects! I had to laugh about your jelly bean comment…those are my fave and I was good and walked right past them in the store the other day! Love the color combo you used. Very cute! I do like the Stampin buddy program you used, it does go to your store…I checked it out! Probably a lot less work for you?? Enjoy your day!

    1. Hello Karen!
Yes, he is a little cutie! I will see if the child will allow me to post an updated picture of her, she is a bit camera shy! Glad you like the set! I tried to walk past the jelly beans but they called to me! LOL! I think the Stampin’ Buddy is a cool idea, it is about the sam amount of work but I do like that it links straight the store. Thanks for the feedback! Have a lovely day! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Simply wonderful. Close your eyes and grab 2 jelly beans from the bag and there is your color pallet. They look so pretty in the bag. Love that little bunny. Daniel is one happy little guy. Yes how about an updated pic of you and Taylor together.

    1. Thank you Lisa! Yes, that is very true! I like the traditional jelly beans myself, especially the licorice ones! Daniel is a very happy little guy! I will make it a point to take a picture of Taylor and I. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Hi Justin: I always have fun making boxes with matching cards and the ones you did sure are gorgeous. Using the oval punches on both really pulls them together as a set. What a cute Easter dinner favor the box would make and the card could easily be turned into a place card. So sweet, so Eastery! Daniel has such gorgeous eyes and the hair, well that is just one huge smile waiting to be smiled. How could anyone resist. I have never seen photos of Taylor so I have no idea how old she is but the photos of her in the blog certainly look like she’s a real doll also. How wonderful for your Mom to have two such beautiful grandchildren! I like the new way to make the supply list. It seems to take a lot less space and I love that if you click on it, it takes you directly to the product. Very cool. You have yourself a terrific Tuesday Justin…………it’s already hump day tomorrow! LOL

    1. Hello Grace!
Thank you! I didn’t want them to match exactly, but the ovals do tie them together! It would make a nice Easter dinner favor and the card could very easily become a place card. Daniel is really a cute baby! He does smile and laugh most of the time. His hair makes me laugh, just a tuft in the middle! I have had pictures of Taylor on before, she is going to be 18 next week! Thanks for the feedback on the supply list! It does take up less space and was pretty easy to use. I wonder how much it will be after the initial phase is over?! Enjoy your Tuesday too and yes we are almost at the middle! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Cute!! the card and box too, really like the new way of showing the products you used, less space to scroll past to make a comment.

  6. Cute set (even with the chocolates missing from the box LOL). What a cutie! He is adorable. Your daughter looks pretty good in the background too but you should post a more recent one (if she gives you permission that is).
This the Stampin’Buddy but these is nothing for Canada….;-( only UK and Australia….. oh well!

    1. LOL! Thanks Louise! I can’t resist some candy! When I was up in Toronto they had Malteasers and they are my favorite!! Yes, Daniel is quite cute! I will get a more recent picture of Taylor soon, maybe for her birthday next week! Sorry about the Stampin’ Buddy, I’m sure they will add Canada soon! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. The colors for this set caught my eye the minute I saw the project. The box just cries out to have some jelly beans in it! I agree with Louise that chocolate would be a good for this, too!

    1. Thank you Robin! Yes, it does need some jelly Beans, I’ll have to get some more! But I would prefer it being filled with chocolate! Have a great week! ๐Ÿ™‚
