Paper Players 191

Another beautiful day here in New York! I started the day off by driving into Manhattan and much to my surprise, I made it into the city in 28 minutes. Don’t tell anyone! LOL! Had some breakfast with Kim, went to see a friend in Midtown, managed to stop on the way back up and take some pictures that you will see below. I went back to Kim’s and she decided she’d take the ride back out to Long Island with me. We went for a walk on the Bethpage bike trail, took my parents to the airport and had some dinner at Friday’s. I dropped Kim off at the train station and Andrew came by to pick up two cards that I made for his mom which I will post later this week. Now on to the pictures…

This is the Roosevelt Island Tram. It runs parallel to the 59th Street Bridge to the midway point where it drops down to Roosevelt Island. At one time, this was the only way to get to Roosevelt Island via public transportation. They have since added a subway stop on the F-line. I still think this is a pretty neat way to get to the island, and one day I will take it there!

Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Paper Players challenge and Ann has given us this interesting color challenge…

Paper Players #191

My card base is a piece of Coastal Cabana Card Stock and as a background, I used the Hexagon Hive Thinlit Die which I cut out of a piece of Calypso Coral. On top of that is my tag which is cut from Crumb Cake using the Angled Tag Topper Punch. My greeting is stamped on the tag in Always Artichoke. The stamp comes from the Simply Sketched Host(ess) Stamp Set. On the left of the tag I stamped the leaves from the Secret Garden Stamp Set in Always Artichoke and cut them out with the Secret Garden Framelits. On top of that are two flowers which I stamped in Calypso Coral from the Flower Shop Stamp Set. They are punched out with the Pansy Punch. I like the look of the card but I felt it was too empty so I added another flower and leaf at the bottom to fill it out some more. As an added embellishment, I tied some Linen Thread through the tag to give it the finishing touch. I know I’ve used the flowers a lot lately and I promise I will move on to something else! LOL! I hope you like what I did with the bold color combination from the Paper Players this week. Thanks for taking some time out of your Monday to see what I was up to yesterday. Here’s to a good Monday for all of us!
