Fab Friday 39

Ahh… I love it when I get up in the morning and realize that it’s Friday, it makes whole day instantly better! We are supposed to get some rain today but it should be in the 60’s so I’m fine with that. Yesterday was an average day, not too busy and after work was relaxing. Saw Andrew for a bit, watched some TV, a nice relaxing evening. Not a bad way to prepare for Friday! This weekend should be easy too. Haircut on Saturday, Manhattan on Sunday morning and taking the parents to the airport on Sunday evening. What are all of you up to this weekend?

Today is a great Friday also because it’s Fab Friday! And this time around we have a simple sketch for you…

Fab Fri 39 Sketch 4-11-2014

After yesterday’s nice, bold card, I decided a subtle one was in order for today. I would even go as far as to say it’s monochromatic. My card base is a piece of Smoky Slate Core’dinations Card Stock. I always forget to use it, but I really like the linen look of the paper when you don’t do anything to it. In the bottom right corner, I stamped my greeting in Basic Black which came from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set.  Next up is a small piece of Modern Medley Designer Series Paper and on top of that to the right is a piece of Brushed Silver Card Stock. My main image is also from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set which I stamped in Basic Black and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. I really like the modern, dimensional look of the Dahlia stamp. The lines give it a lot of perspective and it’s a very nice addition to any card and the size is great because it really grabs your attention. I also need to remember to use the Core’dinations Card Stock more often because I really do like the textured look that it has. A Fab Friday is always a good Friday! I hope you enjoyed my simple card for this week’s sketch. 1. Hi Justin! Beautiful card! I just realized the other day that I’ve not added the Regarding Dahlia stamp set to my collection…yikes! After seeing what you did with this card I definitely need to get it. I love the brushed silver cardstock on here, so pretty. And oh my—you’ve done an excellent job with cutting out the flower! Wow! Have a wonderful Friday!

    1. Hello Karen,
Thank you! That dahlia is one of my favorite images from the catalog. It has such great detail. The Brushed Silver is one joy favorites and I do enjoy a little fussy cutting! Have a great Friday yourself! 🙂

      1. It is one of my absolute favorites too!! You are going to love it Karen!! And the Dahlia itself is a straightforward fussy-cut, if there is such a thing, right Justin?!! 😉 LOL!!

        1. Thank you Laurie! The Dahlia is an awesome image! I don’t know if there is such a thing as a straight forward fussy cut! But if there is then I guess that would apply here! LOL! 🙂

  2. Beautiful card! The Dahlia is such a show stopper. Always a star. Especially when it’s fussy cut. Have a wonderful weekend.

  3. I also agree with Nancy, Lisa, and Brenda!! I love EVERYTHING about your CAS card Justin!!! I have been admiring your cards all week too!! This one is super-snazzy and your linen analogy is spot-on!!! Have a FABULOUS Friday!! 🙂

    1. Thank you Laurie! You are too kine to me! I always forget about that Core’dinations! I guess I’ll have to leave a little piece on the desk! I hope you had a great Friday and a sweet Saturday! 🙂
