Paper Craft Crew 87

I’m very happy to report that the weather here yesterday was quite nice, we got into the high 50’s! That feels a lot better than the low teens! After work I stopped by my parents to get Winston and see little Daniel, he’s still just as cute! I stopped home and started a card and then went over to my friends Brian and Kim’s for taco night! Heather was there too. I love taco night, it’s so much fun and the tacos are always delicious! It’s always great to see the little princesses too! I came home and finished my card and had some coffee. I drink about 6-8 cups of coffee a day and most of them after I get home! Sometimes I wish it had the desired effect and kept me up up but I think that I’m immune to it! LOL! What were you all up to?

It’s Wednesday so that means I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for our sketch this week…

PCCCS087 4-02-2014

As soon as I saw the sketch I knew exactly what Stamp Set and Designer Series Paper I wanted to use. The base of my card is Basic Gray Card Stock and the background is a piece of Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper along with the large flag. The large stamped image is from the Tea Party Stamp Set and is stamped once in Pear Pizzaz and cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits and again in Wisteria Wonder. I cut out the tea cup with my Paper Snips and adhered it to the Pear Pizzaz one with a Stampin’ Dimensional. It’s backed it with a piece of Crushed Curry cut out with the same Framelits and adhered that to the card also with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The small flag at the top is Soft Suede cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits and some Wisteria Wonder is punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. In the lower right is a greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set, stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. The large flower is from the Petite Petals Stamp Set, stamped in Wisteria Wonder and punched out with the Petite Petals Punch. A few Basic Jewels Pearls in the middles of all of the flowers completes the card. I do love the Tea Party Stamp Set and don’t use it enough! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the team has come up with and enter your card in the gallery so we can see what you do with the sketch. Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! πŸ™‚

  1. Hi Justin! Ok, your card should have had the word coffee on it instead of tea! I’m a coffee drinker also and the caffeine really doesn’t bother me either. That’s my only bad habit by the way. LOL!! This is a pretty card and the way you’ve popped up the tea cup really makes it stand out. Love these colors and the way you used the basic gray as your base. Very nice! Enjoy your Wednesday and thanks for sharing!!

    1. Hello Karen!
I agree, but the English in me does like some tea too! LOL! Coffee is one of two of my bad habits, we won’t mention the other one! I think the colors in the Afternoon Picnic DSP are great! Glad you enjoyed the card! Have a fun Wednesday! πŸ™‚

  2. Oh my Justin – when you say you know exactly what stamp set you want to use as soon as you see a sketch it makes me envious. I spend so much time deciding which stamp set to use it’s not funny. Once I make a final decision everything else falls into place but choosing the stamp set seems to take forever. Now, when I am making a quilt, no problem picking out the pattern but it takes forever to decide on the fabric. I guess I just don’t have that creative dot of genius that you and Brian have. LOL I fell in love with your snipped tea cup and matching flower. Wisteria Wonder is the perfect color for those items, especially if a person collects tea cups from the Victorian era. You have yourself a Wonderful Wednesday too.

    1. LOL! It doesn’t happen all the time Grace! But I do love when it does! I too sometimes take a long time, you are not completely alone. I’m sure that you have just as much, if not more, creative genius than us! I’m glad you like the card! Thank you! I hope that you had a good day and a nice evening! πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you Wendie! I suffer from the same, love them both but don’t use them enough! Have a great evening! πŸ™‚

  3. I immediately fell in love with this card. The tea stamp set is one of my favorites. I love the addition of the little flowers. The colors and the layering are great! Love it all. πŸ™‚

  4. Love the card! Love coffee! Don’t you wish the stamp said you are my cup of coffee? I’m surprised you didn’t make one. I love that DSP and the colors. You layered and snipped and punched just perfectly! Have a great “Hump” Day! Nancy B

    1. Thank you Nancy! Yes, I love coffee too much, I’m off to Starbucks to get some now! I might just have a to carve myself one that says that! I hope your day was great! πŸ™‚

  5. Love this, Justin! I didn’t get this paper and am always wishing I did!!! If I drank 6-8 cups of coffee at night I would NEVER sleep! I do love coffee, though, just in the morning!

    1. Thank you LeAnne! I would be fine with never sleeping! I really do think that I’m immune to it! Enjoy your evening! πŸ™‚

  6. Oh my Justin, I will HAPPILY invite you to my Spring Tea Party, and you can DEFINITELY bring the Starbucks!!! πŸ˜‰ I am a hard-core iced white mocha/caramel macchaito fanatic!! You are not playing around with your daily 6-8 cups of coffee!! Wowie!! No wonder you have so much creative energy!!!!! πŸ™‚
I went through an absolute OBSESSION with this Tea theme & stamp set last Summer, as Wisteria Wonder is one of my all-time favorite SU colors… I sailed through 2 packs of this DSP in just a few weeks!! Your card reminds me that I need to get it out again!! I am loving the Petite Petals on your card!! Those tiny pansies are the neatest accent to an already AWESOME combination!!! Have a great night!!!

    1. LOL! Thank you Laurie! I would bring Starbucks, it’s my absolute favorite! I like the Iced white mocha too! It is a lot of coffee, but if I don;t have a cup by 10:00am I get a headache! I have to say that I miss Lucky Limeade. I’m glad you liked all of the “extras” on the card! πŸ™‚

  7. Holy Moley Justin the detail in this card is awesome! Love all the the little things that you have done to tie in the theme and work the magic of the stamp set. This is one that I own but don’t use that frequently because I am unsure what to do with it – love your inspiration.
