Mojo 345 and Roses

It was another nice day here yesterday, a little more humid than Sunday but sunny for most of the day. I’m very happy to see that Spring has finally arrived! We are supposed to get some rain over the next few days but I think that Sunday more than made up for a few days of rain. My day yesterday was nice, work productive but not crazy. I had some dinner with my parents and then came home and Andrew and Christine stopped by for a bit to discuss a fundraiser that we are working on. I’ll give you more details as things get finalized. It’s going to be a lot of fun and it’s for a really good cause! For a little added bonus at the end of today’s post are the roses that I made for my mum for Mother’s Day.

It’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for some new weekly deals from Stampin’ Up! Here are this week’s specials…

My post that I have for you today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch and Julee Tilman has give us a fun one this time…

Mojo345

I looked at the sketch yesterday morning before I left for work and actually put the card together in my little brain while I was at work! Love when I can do that! I’m also giving you a look at the new In-Colors which I’m loving! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock and I covered the entire front with a piece of paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack*. The panel is a piece of Hello Honey and I cut the circles out with the Circles Collection Framelits. A few Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card over the DSP, but let it peek through the circles and the left side. The two other circles are also cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits from Blackberry Bliss* and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the Simply Celebrate Stamp Set and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss* and cut out with the Banners Framelits. A thin strip of Basic Gray goes down the left and it’s adhered to the circle with SNAIL. The Moonlight Designer Series Paper* is great, love the colors and patterns. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge and your sneak peek at the new In-Colors and Designer Series Paper. Your visits keep the creativity flowing and your comments make my days brighter! Thank you for your visit and have a great Tuesday! 🙂

  1. Justin, what a wonderful son you are! Giving your Mum roses that will last forever. They are beautiful. Is your Mum from Great Britain? Nice card displaying some our new products. I like the Hello Honey popped up from the Moonlight paper giving it depth. I always like to use the negative of something like you did and finishing it off with the gorgeous Blackberry Bliss circles. This is my favorite of the new In Colors.

    1. Hi Lisa!
Aww, thank you! My mum did like them! Yes, she is from central London. They actually just got back from a visit a few weeks ago. Love the new In-Colors and the Moonlight DSP has some really great patterns and colors. Blackberry Bliss is a great color, makes your mouth water just saying it! Enjoy your day! 🙂

  2. Justin, once again, awesome job with the sketch. Love the colors and the dsp. I have to say the catalog does not do justice to the Moonlight stack. And the roses are GREAT! Love them! Did you use the spiral flower die?

    1. Thank you Gerri! Yes, the new In-Colors and the Moonlight DSP are great! The patterns and colors in the DSP are awesome! I did use the Spiral Flower Die, I think they could have been better! 🙂

  3. Hi Justin! Great card! I love the new colors! This is a rather simple card but presents a big impact! Love it! And how nice to give your Mum flowers that will last forever! So pretty! I just placed my second pre-order—can’t wait to start playing with all the new things! Hope your day is a good one!

    1. Hello Karen!
Thank you! Yes, the new In-Colors are nice and bold! I figured the paper flowers would be better than real! I am thinking about my second pre-order. I like the Endless Birthday Wishes Photopolymer that they released today! I hope you have a good day too! 🙂

      1. Hey Justin—great minds think alike! I just was checking out the blog and saw that set. Missed it earlier today. And I did 2nd day shipping…Thursday can’t come fast enough! 🙂

  4. Love those roses, and I bet your mom will cherish the forever. Nice take on the sketch, I love the Moonlight paper and the Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss are awesome together. I love these new colors, so rich

  5. Hi Justin:

I just got back from vacation and found a gazillion emails waiting for me but before I got myself overwhelmed I decided I would try to catch up one day at a time going backward from today.

Loved your take on today’s card. Talk about a card jumping out at you, this is the one. I love the fact that you used circles to emphasize circles, something I never would have thought of.

I’m jealous of all you demos and can’t wait to get my copy of the new catty. It sounds like it’s going to be a “ouch” to my purse. LOL

Loved your flowers for your Mother……….what a fabulous gift. I know at me and the hubs age there really isn’t anything we need and we have been overly blessed by being able to buy things we want. After downsizing from 9 rooms to 4 it really is difficult for our children to find something for us. I keep telling them that as long as we spend time together that is the ultimate gift. So glad you went to see your parents. I hope they had an amazing trip.

    1. Hello Grace!
Welcome back! You were missed! I am loving the new In-Colors and the Designer Series Paper stacks are so neat! You are going to love the new catalog! Yes, it will put a big dent in your wallet, but that’s part of the fun!!
My mum loved the flowers too. She really appreciates anything that I make for her. She has every card that I have ever given her and proudly displays them. I feel the same way about gifts, if I want something I usually get it. I think that spending time with the people that are important to us is the most precious gift there is. You never know when they might not be here anymore. My parents had a very nice visit with my mum’s family. My cousin is coming over in September, can’t wait to see her! Enjoy your evening and again, welcome back! 🙂
      XO
