SUO Challenges 97

Hey there! Long time no see! LOL! Did you enjoy the Control Freaks Blog Tour?! Lots of new Catalog goodies! Yes, it’s kind of my second post for yesterday/today. I told you that I had a lot of projects to make over the weekend. And because of all of you I can’t think of anything else that I would rather be doing! Your visits and comments make it all worth it! Let’s see… yesterday work was good, I was a little busy when I got home with more crafty stuff. It did rain here a little last night but just a little. The weather has been absolutely perfect otherwise. I think that Spring is my new favorite season!

It’s Tuesday so here are this week’s specials from Stampin’ Up!

Every other Tuesday I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog with the rest of the talented Design Team for our bi-weekly challenge. This time around the theme is Something Delicious. I thought about it for a little while and settled on cake. That’s delicious right?! I haven’t used the Circle Card Thinlits in a while so I dusted it off for today’s card. My base is Pistachio Pudding Card Stock. I used the Circle Card Thinlits, but left some extra card stock hanging over the end to crete the flip card with another panel. Some of the Lullaby Designer Series Paper* is used to cover the front panels of the card. My greetings and cake are from the new Endless Birthday Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set. On the front the cake is stamped in Coastal Cabana, the greeting in Hello Honey* and I used my Stampin’ Write Markers in Hello Honey*, Coastal Cabana and Pistachio Pudding to create the dots. The Hello Honey* backing is punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and the scallop is from the Circle Card Thinlits set. On the inside of the flip I used the same backing and scallop. The greetings are stamped in Sahara Sand, Pistachio Pudding, Hello Honey* and Coastal Cabana. For a little fun addition I cut out some Coastal Cabana, Hello Honey* and Pistachio Pudding with the star from the set and strung them on some White Bakers Twine. I think it’s a nice little surprise when you open the card, don’t you? Loving the Endless Birthday Wishes set too by the way! There you have my card for the SUO Challenges Something Delicious theme. Stop by the blog to see the other delicious projects the rest of the Design Team has and enter your take in the gallery for us to see! Thanks you so much for coming by to see me once again! I really do appreciate all of your visits! Enjoy the reset of your Tuesday! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin,
Perfect! Love this! From the colors, to the use of DSP, and the Framelits, and stamp set! Just love it! Oh and star banner! Oh my goodness! That was the icing on your birthday cake!!!
I should be getting my Endless Birthday Wishes tomorrow! I can’t wait!
I hope your day is a good one. I have a very difficult day ahead of me. I will be putting my 16 year old cat down tonight. I just breaks my heart, but she is in kidney failure and every day it gets a little worse. I love my pets like my family! But I won’t ever change that to make it easier to do what needs to be done. They bring so much joy to my life.
    Donna

    1. Hello Donna!
The Endless Birthday Wishes Set is great! I love the font! I thought the stars inside were a fun little surprise! You are going to have fun with the set!
I’m so sorry to hear about your cat. I can’t imagine life without my dog Winston. He drives me nuts but he is my buddy. Know that you shared all of the love with your cat. She will be in a better place with no suffering. You brought just as much joy to her life. It’s never easy saying goodbye. Hugs.

  2. Good Morning Justin!!!
This card is such a fun birthday card!!! I wish it was my birthday LOL!!! 😉
Your card is AMAZINGLY AWESOME and ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!!!
I love every little detail!!! Hee hee hee, & I just ordered Endless Birthday Wishes last night!!! Yippee!!! 🙂

    1. Good morning Laurie!
Thank you so much! LOL! I will definitely make some more. I love the stars inside. The set is great, love the font! Have a lovely day! 🙂

  3. OH man Justin! What a surprise to see that star banner when the card was open. That’s like its own little gift. I just love it! Can you tell I love surprises (only good ones of course). My other favorite is the cake in the scalloped circle, in the circle, in the circle…………….super presentation. What a great card!

    1. I can tell you love surprises! I thought it was a fun little addition and not complicated at all. Who doesn’t love cake in anything! LOL! Have a wonderful day my friend! 🙂

  4. Justin, Great card! Love that you used the thinlit for this! The dsp is perfect too! I am dying to order this set but am trying to hold off any more ordering till June 2. I want to get a big order together (which won’t be hard). There are a few hostess sets that I want/need to get… 🙂
I just hope they don’t sell out ‘Endless Birthday Wishes’.

    1. Thank you Gerri! I wish I had the willpower to hold off! LOL! I want everything in the new Catalog! I like all of the Host(ess) Sets, but I did last year too! The same person that designed Endless Wishes did this one. I hope that they were smart and made extra! 🙂

  5. Cute cute card ! Love the stars ! I noticed that you have a itty bitty paper clip at the top of your card . I have this framelit and think it is really cute ,but it pops open and I don`t like that ! So you used that adorable paper clip ! Thank you for the hint ! Did not see the paper clip listed at the bottom ?? I am ordering the Endless Wishes today …I think it is so versatile !

    1. Thank you Sonny! I used the paper clip to keep the card closed, like you said they like to pop open! I think the paper clip was in one of the kits and there are some in the new catalog too. You will love the Endless Birthday Wishes! 🙂

  6. What a grand idea, dangling the stars from the bakers twine! My 2nd preorder arrives tomorrow with the Endless Birthday Wishes and Lullaby DSP included, plus more goodies I couldn’t resist ordering. Also putting the 4 says inside the scallop circle, neat idea. Yes, you do have many projects in progress. All so very nice. We have 80 and sunshine today in Ohio. Yippee!

    1. Why thank you Lisa! Con we ever resist?! Loving the Endless Birthday Wishes! I like the way the greetings are all separate! I’m happy that you are liking the projects! 80 is a little high for me! LOL! Enjoy! 🙂
