Blog Post 1000, Paper Players 198 & the New Catalog!!!!

Yup! You read that correctly! Today is my 1000 blog post! I can’t believe that it has been that many! I started my blog on August 6, 2011 before I became a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. I had seen a show on PBS where they made a step card and I thought I can do that. I went out the next day and bought some supplies and made the card. Here is that card…

I was so proud, I sent it to my Grandmother for her Birthday and she still has it! The first challenge that I entered was Pals Paper Arts 107! I made a card using my first Stampin’ Up! Set. It was a retired set called Punch Box Terrific Tags and it came with the stamps and a punch in a metal box. Here is a picture of that card…

Wasn’t my stamping and photography great back then?!?! I joined Stampin’ Up! in September of 2011 and started to use exclusively Stampin’ Up! products shortly after that. I decided that today for the first part of my post I would share with you some of my favorites from the past three years. Here they are…

Yes, that’s a lot of cards, but when you think about it for 1000 posts (each post has at least one card, some more!) it’s not really that many! LOL! I am lucky enough to be a part of some amazing blog teams with some of the most creative people out there. The best part of all of this is definitely the friends that I have made. One of the first blogs that I followed was Mary Fish and I got to meet her last year at convention. She is even nicer in person that I could have ever imagined! There are so many other people that I look up to and now can call friends. Brian King and I speak almost every day. I had the most amazing time last September when I went to visit him in Atlanta. We went Zip-Lining and it’s something that I will never forget. Last but certainly not least, all of you that I get to “speak” to every day. You are the reason that I do this and you make it so much fun!

Before I get to today’s regularly scheduled post since it’s a milestone day I think we need some Blog Candy!! Leave a comment on today’s post and I will send you one of my favorite sets from the new catalog, A Happy Hooray! It has a feather in it so of course it’s a favorite. And who knows, there might even be some more goodies in with it!!

Now we get to today’s regular post which is for this week’s Paper Players. My talented friend Sandy has a wedding theme for us…

Paper Players #198

I decided that I would go for a very non-traditional card. It starts off with a base of Basic Black Card Stock. The background is Very Vanilla and I used the Mr. & Mrs. Stamp with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to stamp just the Mr. & Mrs.! My ampersand is from the Label Card Thinlits Dies and is cut out from some Gold Foil Sheet. Before I adhered the background to the base I used some Sticky Strip to hold a strip of the Gold Sequin Trim across the middle. Up top is another piece of Gold Foil Sheet  under a piece of Red Glimmer Paper that I cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits. On top of that is a piece of Baked Brown Sugar that I stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black. The heart in the center is cut out with the same Framelits and Stampin’ Dimensionals hold it over the Gold. Finally the banner is stamped with one of the stamps from the “Vintage” Best of Love Stamp Set in Real Red and I flagged the ends before two more Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. I think it’s a very fun card with a slightly vintage feel to it. The sparkle from the heart and the shine from the gold make it fun! And there is my Paper Players card for this week’s Wedding challenge from Sandy! I want to thank all of you for coming along on this journey with me. Your visits and comments make all of this possible! Whether you have been here since the beginning or just recently joined me I hope that I continue to inspire you and I look forward to the next 1000 posts!
