Pals Paper Arts 208

Progress is a good thing! I went to the new apartment yesterday morning and gave the kitchen a little cleaning. Andrew came over with some bagels for breakfast and we painted the bedroom. After that we came back to the old apartment and packed up some of the kitchen. We took a break and went to Friday’s for dinner which was nice as always. We came back to the apartment and packed up the cars and took the boxes over to the new apartment. We called a night after that! I came home and crafted for a bit and watched a little TV. All in all a very productive day! This morning I’m going to head back over and unpack the boxes. It definitely feels less stressful moving a little at a time! How was your day?!

My crafting last night was to create my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

PPA 208

A fun little sketch from Margaret. The starting point for my card is the Moonlight Designer Series Paper. My card starts off with a base of Hello Honey Card Stock and the background is that DSP. Across the top is a piece of Blackberry Bliss that I embossed with the Tiny Triangles Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. My flagged piece of Sahara Sand is where I stamped my greeting and that is from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss. I used the Triangle Punch to punch out a piece of Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss. I saved the middles for another project and used my Paper Snips to cut around the negatives to make my two triangles that are on the card. I popped the Blackberry Bliss one up on Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little extra interest. A fun modern card with a greeting that works for a lot of different occasions. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge. Your visits always make my day and I hope that your Sunday is a pleasant one! 🙂

  1. Great card. Simple and fun. It seems you are making a lot of progress with your move. You are very fortunate to have such a great circle of friends. Enjoyed the pics yesterday. Have a great Sunday and unpacking.

    1. Thank you Louise! Yes, Andrew has been a huge help! Today’s was pretty productive too! I hope you enjoyed your Sunday! 🙂

  2. Hi Justin, I love the triangles. Funny how you don’t notice all the stuff in the catalog. I really never saw the triangle punch before. I have the pennant punch, but not the triangle. Love how you used them with the DSP. Glad you moving is going well. Is your new place larger? Love the idea of setting up a new SU corner, table or room. Feels so fresh. Have a great day. 🙂

    1. Hello Nancy!
I think the triangles are neat too! Thank you! I love the Geometrical Stamp Set which goes with the Triangle Punch! The new place is larger in some areas and smaller in others. I have a large walk in closet that I think will be my new stamp room. 🙂

  3. Really modern looking card . I like it and the color combo is perfect for the hard angle triangle look ! I also like this sketch because it leaves the door open to all sorts of creative ideas !
Sounds like the move is going right along ….yay ! Pictures expected when you get settled in your new cave !

    1. Thank you Sonny! It is very modern but I think the triangles in the Designer Series Paper soften the card a bit. It is a great sketch! The moving is going, I wish it was done! LOL! I will have pictures for you! 🙂

  4. Hi Justin! Great card! Using my favorite colors (today, anyhow ;-)) Clever use of the triangle punch, love that and how you tied in all the other triangles. Glad you are making progress on the new digs…you’re right, a little at a time is a lot less stressful! I was at Friday’s for an early dinner/late lunch yesterday also, love the pecan crusted cranberry salad! Yummy! Hope today is just as productive for you! Have a good one!

    1. Hey Karen!
Thank you! I too am loving the Blackberry Bliss/Hello Honey combo! I am a big fan of triangles! The little at a time is great! I’m lucky that the new place is empty! I’ll have to try that salad, sounds delish! Today went pretty well! Hope you had a nice day too! 🙂

  5. This card incorporates the best of Stampin’ Up-coordinating colors, papers, shapes, and a big dose of happy! The positive message is great. Congrats on your progress in getting into your new place. Keep up the good work, and thanks for being here for us in spite of all you have going on.

    1. Thank you Georgie! It really does show how well you can have everything coordinate! Things are moving along, can;t wait for it all to be done! I wouldn’t miss a day with you guys! 🙂

  6. Great card with the repeating theme of triangles! Thanks for sharing how you made those striking floating triangles;they add pop to the top of the banner! You are lucky to have Andrew help paint, pack and move items! And he brings breakfast too!! Have a productive Sunday as you continue to transfer your life to new digs!

    1. Thank you Beth! The floating triangles are fun and easy! I am very lucky to have Andrew, he’s pretty great! We have an awesome friendship, we do for each other what needs to be done! Today was productive I’m happy to report! 🙂

  7. Hi Justin:

I love the way you created the triangles, I never would have thought to use the negative to create the open image. Every time I see that EF I think of waffle cookies. I keep waiting for you to make a cookie for a card using it! LOL Again, using the Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey is definitely a home run combination! So, what color did you paint the bedroom? You get so much done in a single day that it amazes me. I wonder if I give up cooking and eat out all the time, I can get half of what you do done? Silly me – of course not now that my get up and go has got up and went!

Have yourself a Super Sunday – as for me it’s race day. Hmmmmm, wonder what to make for snacks today?

    1. Hello Grace!
Thank you! They are fun to make! I too think of waffle cookies, thanks to you! I will have to see if I can go about making a waffle cookie card just for you! The bedroom is a Smoky Slate! I love gray in a bedroom, you can mix in so many other colors! I too am amazed sometimes at all that I can accomplish but still feel like I have to do more! I sure that you still have a lot of get up and go left my friend! I had a productive Sunday and hope that you enjoyed your race! What did you end up having? 🙂

  8. Hi Justin, this card is amazing and just the inspiration I need to make a birthday card for my 90 yo uncle. I definitely use your triangle idea. I love everything about your card. thanks

  9. Justin, Great Card!! Love how you hollowed out the triangles. For the first time, I want that punch.

  10. Such a cool card, Justin. I love the triangle, both the punched/cut ones and the embossed panel of triangles. They work so well with the DSP! Thanks for joining us at the Pals Paper Arts this week!

  11. Hi Justin,
Another great card! Love the color combo, the triangles are perfect. You do such a great job with making all of your elements work! This is no exception!
I hope you are having a good Sunday, sounds like your Saturday was good and productive!
My sister leaves tomorrow, she’s been here a month, and so we are just hanging out in my craft space working on our projects and talking, its a good thing. Although she only lives 9 hours away, some days it feels like forever! We are very close and being together this past month has been good for both of us. And we have the kind of relationship where there is no arguing or fussing. Its just really good. I will miss her when she leaves tomorrow.
    Have a great Sunday!
    Donna
