Pals Paper Arts 209

TGIF people! This has been a long busy week. I’ll be glad when it’s all over and that will hopefully be on Sunday! Yesterday it was quite hot and humid here but my friend Fred and I left work at 2:00 and got my dad’s truck and started to move the bigger things over to the new apartment. Andrew joined us around 4:00, the more the merrier right?! We got a lot more done that I thought we would which is a great thing! Around 6:30 Fred went home and Andrew and I stayed at the new place and organized it a little. Tonight I won’t get much done, Taylor is graduating from high school and that starts at 6:00pm. I’ll see what else I can get accomplished after that and we will be back at it bright and early at 8:00am tomorrow morning. I feel good about the progress though!

Last night I came home and had some crafty wind down time by making my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

PPA 209

I stared the card off with a base of Pistachio Pudding Card Stock. Some Mossy Meadow is cut out with the Hexagon Hive Thinlit Die and creates the background. The tilted panel begins with some Daffodil Delight to back a piece of paper from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack. I cut out a piece of Lost Lagoon with the Circles Collection Framelits and used the Essentials Paper-Piercing pack to pierce around the edge. My greeting is from the Oh My Goodies Stamp Set and is stamped in Lost Lagoon and cut out with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits. I was thinking that it needed a little something across the bottom of the main panel but then I decided to leave it nice and simple because simple is a good thing sometimes! I love the way the Mossy Meadow and Pistachio Pudding look together, they compliment each other nicely don’t you think?! So there you have my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge. The crafting and all of you help keep me balanced and sane! LOL! I really appreciate you stopping by to see my progress with my move and check out my card, Thanks so much and have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

  1. Hello Justin and happy Friday to you! Congrats on Taylor’s graduation! My word you did pick a busy week to move, didn’t you? Glad things are moving along for you. LOVE your card—I think pistachio and mossy meadow look fabulous together! I agree with you to leave the bottom part of the card alone, I think the flowers on the paper are enough. I do love that paper! So many pretty designs. Have a great day!

    1. Hi Karen! A very happy Friday to you too! Thanks! Yes, this has been one of the busiest weeks ever! LOL! I’m happy you like the card! I hope that you are having a nice Friday! 🙂

  2. Good Morning Justin! Boy, you pack a lot in to your days and nights this week!! How many mugs of coffee is that?! Congratulations to Taylor! The Hexagon Hive die in the green adds so much texture to the card and the small flower pattern on the DSP softens the card. And this uses my favorite colors: blues, greens and yellows. Have an enjoyable evening and a successful weekend!

    1. Hello Beth!
I have been packing a lot into my days, nights and boxes! LOL! I would say that I’m up to about 8 a day! I love the colors too! I will have a good evening and I hope that you have a nice weekend too! 🙂

  3. First of all Congratulations to Taylor! What an exciting time in her life and I’m sure you must be proud as punch Justin! I can imagine your phone will be clicking away taking the photos of this really special moment. Good for you – sit back and enjoy this “once in a lifetime” experience.

The All Abloom stack is one of my favorites and your have really featured it beautifully in this card. I have the hexagon Hive thinlit but just haven’t gotten around to using it. You’ve inspired me to get it out and put it to use. I love the saying on your card and it’s message is one of life’s lessons. Well done my friend!

    1. Thank you! I will let Taylor know that you said! I will try to relax but I have so much to do before we resume the move tomorrow morning! I love the DSP too, there are so many different styles of paper in it, something for everyone. I use that Hexagon Thinlit a lot! Glad you are going to give it a try! The greeting is one of the best! Love it too! 🙂

  4. Love this…not a big fan of blue and green but Lost Lagoon goes so well with everything. Love this color. Good luck with your move. I will be Scrapbooking all weekend, I am so excited. No kids, no hubby for three days. YES!!!! And my daughter is joining me, she now lives 3 hours away so I am so excited to spend time wither

    1. Thank you Linda! I like the blues and greens when they are not too bright together. Yes, Lost Lagoon is one of the best! I would rather be scrapbooking with you weekend! What fun it will be to spend time with your daughter! Hopefully I will be able to get everything finished tomorrow! Fingers crossed! 🙂

  5. Justin, You do amazing things with these sketches. Love this card! The Hexagon Hive die is one of my favs and it is perfect on this card. Also, how do you make these great cards in between packing and moving???

Congrats to your daughter! Enjoy the Graduation!

    1. Thank you very much Gerri! I need the crafty time to center me again, all work and no play makes Justin a cranky boy! LOL! Thank you! Enjoy your evening! 🙂

  6. Congrats to Taylor!!! What a Proud Dad you must be! Make sure to share some pics with us!! Love the card today! I have always loved this saying and am so happy to have it available in this set!! Like Grace I haven’t used my Hexagon yet but I will have to get it out soon!!! Hope you can get some rest in there sometime over the weekend!!

    1. Thank you Sharon! I’m very proud! I too love the greeting, it’s just happy! The Hexagon Hive Thinlit is great, you’ll love it! I am going to go to be early tonight so I am ready for tomorrow! 🙂
