Paper Craft Crew 99

Things are chugging right along here. Thankfully it’s Wednesday and we are halfway through one of the busiest weeks I’ve had in a long time. From now on when I say I’m busy (with crafty things), I’ll appreciate it more. LOL! It was another nice day here today. Work was work, as usual. Our favorite moving assistant Andrew was back over last night and more boxes were packed, papers shredded, and purging accomplished. I started to pack up my stamp sets. They have so far filled 2 36-gallon totes. I think I may have a problem. If you may suffer from the same problem, call 1-800-2MNYSTMPS. LOL! On an even sadder note, there’s probably another full 36-gallon tote to be filled.

It’s Wednesday, and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

An interesting sketch, don’t you think? For my card I started off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. The background is a piece of All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack on the top and to keep it simple, a plain of piece of Blushing Bride on the bottom. To hide the seam, I stamped a piece of Baked Brown Sugar with the Draw the Line Photopolymer Stamp Set in Baked Brown Sugar. The greeting on the center panel is from the Age Awareness Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo on Whisper White and backed with a piece of Blushing Bride. The “Celebrate You” and cupcake both come from the Cupcake Party Stamp Set. The “Celebrate You” Is stamped in Island Indigo and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits. The cupcake is stamped in Blushing Bride and Baked Brown Sugar and punched out with the Cupcake Builder Punch. To finish off the card I punched out a piece of Island Indigo with the 1″ Circle Punch and adhered 3 stars from the 2013-2015 In-Color Sequin Assortment. All of the elements on the card are propped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I like the way that the greetings from the Age Awareness and Cupcake Party Stamp Sets coordinate. It makes for easy stamp set collaboration. Not to mention, I really like the font. And there you have my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Take a little time and head on over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with the sketch and don’t forget to enter your card in the gallery!

  1. Hi Justin! What a nice card today! (tired of hearing that??) I’m especially loving the color combo you chose. So nice! I have got to add Cupcake Party to my list. 😉 What a great feeling to purge and donate items you don’t need or use anymore. I think all of us are in the same situation regarding our stamps…they accumulate fast! Have you thought about selling some of your unwanted sets on your blog? You might free up some space for some new ones! 😉 Have a great day!

    1. Hello Karen!
Thank you, and no, I don’t ever get tired of hearing that!! It really is great to purge! It’s very cleansing! I definitely have way too many stamps, but I love them all! LOL! I can’t part with them! I hope you had a nice Wednesday! 🙂

  2. Great card! You must be like me, can’t get rid of stamps! Do we get to see pics of your new craft space? Before and after would be fun!

    1. Thank you Christina! Yes, I am just like you, I can’t part with them, we have had some good times together! I will take pics of the new craft space as soon as it’s set up! The before pics would be not very pretty, we’ll see! 🙂

  3. Eek! Packing up stamp sets! What a fightening concept! But if I know you, you’ll have some cards made in advance so you don’t miss a beat! And if I know you, the stamp sets will be the first to be unpacked! Love your cute little cupcake card and the colors you used!

    1. LOL! It’s very scary indeed! I feel like I am packing up my creativity! I do have some cards made but I need to craft to relieve the stress of the move! The craft space will definitely be the first thing I set up! Thank you my friend! XO 🙂

  4. Good Morning Justin! Sounds like you, with Andrew’s assistance, are making a lot of progress going through and getting rid of unneeded items! And then we have the ” essentials” to pack!! I am amazed and thrilled that you are still creating beautiful cards to share! Love the balance around the greeting with the word bubble, the cupcake and the little circle with the star sequins!! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

    1. Good evening Beth!
Yes, I have made a lot of progress with Andrew’s help! I definitely need to be creative, it keeps me happy and balanced! I’m happy you liked the card and hope that you had a nice day! 🙂

  5. That Brown Sugar icing looks good enough to eat! I have been putting off thinking about how many stamp sets I now have (2,000 SU and counting! Oy!) I have been purging other stuff though. Anyone want to come out Cincinnati way to help me address my stamp problem? If you clean it out, you can keep it! Free room and board! Of course, some of the stamps may create a bit of a tussle with me, but I really have to start cleaning out all my cabinets, closets, and boxes! Thanks for listening…Nancy B

    1. Thank you Nancy! OMG! I thought that I had a lot, I don’t feel so bad now! LOL! If I get to keep them I’ll take the ride!! I will be happy to help! Thanks for chatting my friend! 🙂

  6. Hi Justin, Great card, as always. I have to get this set because to be honest, I was really tired of the old cupcake set. LOL Your stamp situation sounds just like me, well, probably almost all of us! Each year though, I take the retired stuff I don’t want and put it on Ebay. Last month I made almost $ 600! I just posted another 50 items yesterday and already have bids. The hardest part though, is deciding which items I really want to part with. The problem is… I don’t want to part with any of it. But my craft room is only so big and since I also buy stuff from other companies, I run out of room. Those Ebay people are crazy! If they really want something, they’ll pay! Last March, a lady paid $ 52 for a Christmas stamp set. YIKES! But you could also post on your blog. A lot of people do that, and I’ve bought from blog listings too! Who knows? You could make some money and not pay Ebay fees. 🙂

    1. Hello. Bobbi!
Thank you so much! I’m with you! I was happy to see a new cupcake set! It’s very nice to see that I am not alone in my stamp addiction! I have not sold a single set since I became a demo! I really should but I just can’t do it! I know, I have issues! I have seen the ebay sales go really high! I will definitely think about it! 🙂

  7. Cute card ! I have to get those Word Bubbles ! Love the In Color Sequins ….mine arrived yesterday ! Yay !
And as far as your stamp sets …..we are all there ! Good buddy Brian calls that part of the Paper Crafting ….to be a collector . Wonder if you could win a prize for that ?

    1. Thank you Sonny! The sequins are neat and the Word. Bubbles are fun! I am definitely a collector and I supposed there are worse addictions! I just might be able to win something for that! It would be great wouldn’t it?!
