Eclectic Wood Happiness

Well that was a pretty good Friday, I got out of work a little early! I even got see little Daniel yesterday for dinner. I did forget to take our usual selfie, I’ll remember for next time! I took a little trip to IKEA last night and got some organizers that mount to the wall for the Stampin’ Galley. I need to have certain things right in front of me like my Clear Blocks and specialty ink pads. I put them on the wall last night and I’m loving them already! Everything is a constant work in progress, continuously organizing to make it all work better. I still have a very long way to go but I’ll get there eventually! How was your Friday? I have a lot of projects to get through this weekend but I love that so it’s not a chore at all!

Today I have a card that has been sitting there in my little brain for a while. I needed to get the correct stamp set so I would be able to put it all together. My card begins with a base of Very Vanilla Card Stock. I took a piece of Sahara Sand and cut out part of a circle with the Circles Collection Framelits from the right side. I then ran it though the Texture Boutique using the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Before I adhered it to the card I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the sun from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set in Crushed Curry. The leaves and the butterflies are also form the same set. I stamped the butterflies in Lost Lagoon and punched then out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and the Bitty Butterfly Punch. A staple from our new Handheld Stapler* creates the body of each and they are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The leaves are stamped in Old Olive and cut out with my Paper Snips. I separated some Linen Thread and created two loops to put under the flower which is from the Choose Happiness Stamp Set. I stamped it in Blackberry Bliss and cut it out with my Paper Snips, Stampin’ Dimensionals hold it in place as well. The greeting is from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set, I stamped it in Early Espresso and angled the right side before adhering it to the card with a few more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I told you that I loved the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set and I think it works nicely with the Choose Happiness Stamp Set. They are definitely two of my favorites! Are you enjoying the Kinda Eclectic Set as much as I am?! I hope you are enjoying the cards! Thanks very much for taking the time to visit me, have a great Saturday! 🙂

Wow! I love this set! Love everything about the card! Awesome!
I also wanted to let you know that the card you sent to Danny was adorable. I am sure he will treasure it for a long time. He’s such a cute little guy. Sending him a card is on my 2 do list. I read on someone else’s blog that a mail carrier delivered 10, 000 letters already. Amazing! What a great blessing for this little guy! So kind of you to share this information with us.
That’s another thing in my bucket list, l see and hear so many things about Ikea. I feel like I have to check this place out.
Nice work on your card as always, hope you have a great day! 🙂 Donna

Thank you so much! I love the set too, it was killing me waiting for Convention to get it! LOL!
Thanks, I had fun making it. I knew his name had to be nice and big on the front! He is a cut little guy! Yes, I heard the same thing, I wonder how many he got all together?! I’m sure they will be coming in for a while! I love IKEA! I can get into a lot of trouble in that store! Have yourself a wonderful day! 🙂

  4. Justin, this is a beautiful card!!! It’s very serene. Those 2 sets are hands-down my favorite sets in the catalog. The sunburst image is the best!! I’ve used it with the flamingo for a seriously bright card…lol. The cutout circle works great here. Thanks again for sharing!!

    1. Thank you Gerri! I totally agree with you about Kinda Eclectic and Choose Happiness being the best in the Catalog! I have seen the sunburst used with the flamingo! Have a great day! 🙂

  5. Hi Justin, I can see why this card was milling about your brain…it was worth the wait! All the elements you used worked perfectly. Enjoy your Saturday….it’s raining here in PA so what better reason to stamp the afternoon away.

Yes, it was in there for a bit! I just love that set! I have had a busy Saturday, you’ll hear all about it tomorrow! Rain is a great reason to stay in and stamp! I think we are to have rain tomorrow. Stamp day for me! 🙂

  6. Happy Saturday Justin! Great, great card! Love the use of the circle framelit on here…just fantastic! Love the colors and the texture also. And that little stapler….LOVE it! You are the king of fussy-cutting! 😉 Another great card! Have an awesome day!

    1. Happy Saturday to you too Karen!Thank you! I like when an unusual part of the card is missing! The stapler is really neat, it’s the same size as the Tiny Attacher, love it! Thanks, I like to fussy cut as you know! I hope that you had a great day! 🙂

  7. wow, really loving this card, sure wish you would stop enabling, lol!! My granddaughters facebook page had a link to Danny’s page, his father and grandfather rented a u-haul truck to pick up all of his mail. I am betting that will happen a few times. There was a cute picture of he and his brother sitting on the carts loaded with packages t and letters/cards. I believe his site is called Danny Warrior, but I might be wrong.

    1. LOL! Now where would the fun in that be?! I think that is awesome that he got so many cards!! What a nice birthday he had! I saw the picture too, they are both adorable! I will have to take a look and see his blog, thanks! 🙂

  8. You knocked this one out of the park! Love everything about it, the color combination, the use of Kinda Eclectic and Choose Happiness, the amazing fussy cutting, and your unusual and beautiful way of putting it all together.
