Retro Sketches 124 & Still More Pics!

I’m not gonna lie, I was a little tired today! I guess 3 1/2 hours of sleep isn’t enough! LOL! I’m going to make it point not to do that again. I did manage to drag myself through the day, it wasn’t especially busy which was welcome I can tell you! I do miss the lack of humidity in Utah. It was in the 80’s here yesterday and felt more like 100! I have a few more Convention pictures for you. The first one is my sweet friend Anita from Canada. She is so nice, she brought me Smarties and I just love her hat!

Anita and I

This lovely lady is Amy from the home office. She is actually in the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog. They featured her wedding pictures in the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! spread!

Amy & I

I still have a few more pictures to post and will add some more tomorrow! When I got home last night I sat down and went to make my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge and I forgot that we are taking a week off! I decided that I would try something new. I have always looked at the Retro Sketches blog but I have never participated so I thought why not?! Here is this week’s sketch…

Retro Sketches 124

I love the way they show the sketch, I think it’s really neat! I also did something that rarely do and that’s use a lot of Brights! My card begins with a base of Daffodil Delight Card Stock and for the background I embossed a piece of Melon Mambo with the Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. My large flag is a piece of Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper that I cut out with the Banners Framelits. Some Raspberry Ripple is cut out with two of the Circles Collection Framelits and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. In the middle is a piece of Tempting Turquoise that I punched out with the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. My stamped image is from the Amazing Birthday Stamp Set and is stamped in Tempting Turquoise and punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. The greeting is from the Endless Birthday Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry on Pumpkin Pie, the ends are flagged  and Stampin’ Dimensionals hod it and the cake to the card. Finally I used my Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities Marker to color a Basic Jewel Rhinestone and I popped it on with the greeting. A very bright happy card, I love the ring around the cake and the greeting is just cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Retro Sketches challenge and the pics of my friends from Convention! Thanks you, as always for dropping by, have a great Wednesday peeps! 🙂
