SUO Challenges 100!

I have had a very busy couple of weeks with my move and I decided to take Andrew’s very sage advice and relax tonight. I need to accept that things take time and there is nothing saying that I need to have everything done in 4 days! My friend Heather came by and we had a few glasses of wine, a much needed reprieve from unpacking and organizing! I did get some crafty time in and that always makes my day a little better. Work was very busy today and I definitely needed to relax and unwind. Some wine with a friend is always a good way to end a Monday wouldn’t you agree?!

It’s Tuesday and that means there are new weekly deals from Stampin’ Up!

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our 100th challenge! For this challenge you can go back through challenges 1 through 99 and pick you favorite. I went with #60, Glitter Galore! I definitely think that my card fits the challenge! The base of today’s card is Mossy Meadow Card Stock. For background I used a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper, glitter… check! A strip of paper from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack is cut on an angle at the bottom and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The flowers and leaves are from the Flower Patch Photopolymer Stamp Set, The leaves are stamped in Mossy Meadow and the flowers in Blushing Bride and Strawberry Slush. I used the Flower Fair Framelits to cut them out. The flowers are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the leaves with SNAIL. My greeting is from the And Many More Stamp Set and is stamped in Strawberry Slush on Daffodil Delight, flagged and then tucked under the flowers. I put a Basic Jewel Rhinestone in the middle of each flower for some extra sparkle! So there you have my card for the 100th SUO Challenges challenge. I definitely think I fulfilled the glitter galore criteria! LOL! I hope you like the card and that you will take some time go and visit the blog to see what the other design team members choose for their favorite challenge. We would love to see what you choose too so make a project and enter it in the gallery! Thank you very much for coming by today and I wish you a very happy Tuesday! 🙂

  1. Congrats on #100! How great is that. Love that glimmer paper . . . does the glimmer fall off? (and get on everything?) The flowers are fantastic.
    🙂

    1. Thanks Nancy! It’s pretty cool! The glimmer on the glimmer paper doesn’t come off, that why I like it! 🙂

  2. Isn’t the Flower Patch set so fun and perky! I just love it and your card too. Adding the Silver Glimmer packs a extra punch. I’ve been catching up on your whirlwind life, since I’ve been absent from your blog for the past several days. So great of Heather to stop by and provide liquid refreshment. What better way to unwind and relax. You most certainly deserve it.

    1. Yes Lisa, the Flower Patch Set is pretty neat and matching Framelits makes it great! I’m so glad to have you back! Yes, Heather always knows when I need some wine! LOL! It was nice to do nothing last night! 🙂

  3. Justin – This really is beautiful. I just wish there were more glitter. Perhaps you could have bordered the silver glimmer paper with some champagne glimmer paper? Perhaps the flowers could have been covered with Dazzling Diamonds? A dot of Dazzling Details in the center of each? Perhaps you could have just dusted some extra glitter all over the finished project just for some additional sparkle? I think I just described a terrible dream. You card is really lovely, Justin!

    1. Thank you very much Brian! I’m certain that you do wish there was some more glitter, maybe even a few sequins! LOLOLOL! 🙂

  4. Hi there Justin! So glad you took some time and rested last night…you certainly have been working very hard. It will all fall into place! You do have some great friends! Love your card! I’m so lovin’ the flower fair/flower patch combo in fact was working with that yesterday. It’s just lovely, isn’t it? And I like how you used one fo the flowers for your leaves…very clever! Have a great day…I’m trying to figure out my next order to place…need vs. want!! Have a great day! 🙂

    1. Hey Karen!
I definitely needed the rest! I have been going for a few days and not getting my usual 4-5 hours of sleep! I have the best friends that anyone could ever ask for! Thanks! The card was a nice break too! The Stamp Set and Framelits are great! The leaf is actually in the stamp set and has a Framelit! I wish I was that clever! I placed an order this morning. I didm;t get any of the Designer Series Paper except from the pre-order, I’m happy that I waited! I always want it all! I hope your day was good, mine was! 🙂

  5. Hi Justin:

Since I am called The Glitter Queen by my family and some special friends, you just know I love this card. Don’t laugh at me but the thing that caught my eye on this creation was the slant cut on the DSP. I always tend to do the dove tail cut. I really don’t know why I don’t think of these little things that can make or break a card. This is a fabulous stamp set and I, like Karen, was impressed with the way you made the leaves. Super card!

Andrew and Kim are right. Everything doesn’t need to be done in a few days although I do understand. The sooner you get everything organized and taken care of, the sooner you can get back to normal and spend some weekend days in the city. You do have the most important thing done and that is you now have your stamping space and it’s all organized and ready to go. How is the lighting in there? If you need some great “natural” light try waiting for an Ott light to go on sale at JoAnn’s or Michael’s. These lights are called daylight because they really do show up color as it would be seen outdoors on a sunny day. I use mine for fabric more than cardstock but that doesn’t matter.

Have yourself a Tremendous Tuesday and treat yourself to a great dinner as a reward for all your hard work the past few weeks.

    1. Hello Grace!
I knew that you are called the glitter queen, I was thinking of you when I was making the card as a matter of fact! I like the slant cut too, I always flag the end and it’s nice for a change! The stamp set is a great one for sure!
I am a little OCD and need to work on that, it will be here waiting to be put away, and if I keep up at this pace I will need to be put away! LOL! The stamp space had to be first, it’s like my relaxation chamber! I need a little more lighting but I don;t want to make it too hot or I’ll cook myself! LOL! I have tried an Ott light and didn’t card for it. I use the daylight fluorescents. They stay a bit cooler. I might have to try the Ott light again though. Thanks for the advice!
I had a good day and hope that you did too! 🙂

  6. We all need mental health time and relaxation time. We all know the work will wait for us, but us type “A” people want it done yesterday. Good for you. Another beauty, I cant wait until my stamp set comes, and I love the glitterpaper

    1. Yes indeed we do Linda! I am definitely type “A”, but sometimes someone can convince me otherwise! Thanks! You are going to have fun with that set! Sparkle makes everything better! 🙂

  7. Justin: I want to thank you for the inspiration. Not only does your artwork inspire me every day, but your blog-every-day goal inspired me to do the same…almost. At the beginning of the year, I made a goal to blog every week day and I just made it through 6 months! I gave you a little shout-out on my blog for all the inspiration. Thank you!!

    1. Thank you so much Kathy! You should know that you all inspire me too! Woo hoo!! Good for you!! It feels good to set a goal and accomplish it doesn’t it?!?! I will have to go and take a look at your blog now! Thanks!! Hugs!! 🙂
