Happy Halloween!!

It’s a Friday and it’s Halloween!! I had a nice evening last night, I went to a class at The Playground that my friend Michael taught. We made four Christmas cards and had a very good time. After we went out for some coffee at Starbucks and just hung out. I had a bit of a headache last night and didn’t get much sleep so I took the day off from work and   am going to try and go back to bed for a while. I haven’t had a really bad headache in years. Oh well, hopefully I can get some rest and it will be all gone later. Did you all finish you preparations for the trick or treaters tonight?! I love to see all of the little kids in their costumes, I wonder what Daniel will be. Hopefully I will see him later and get to take a few pictures!

I had to make a fun Halloween card to post today. I had see a card on Pinterest a while back that did a fun thing with a tag so that is my inspiration for today’s card. The base is Whisper White Card Stock with a piece of Basic Black on top. My background is a piece of Whisper White and I used the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set and some Tangelo Twist ink for my splotches. I stamped them off so they wouldn’t be too bold. A piece of Tangelo Twist is is used to make my tag along with the Angled Tag Topper Punch. I cut a strip of Tangelo Twist and used some temporary adhesive so I could cut around the tag with a craft knife to create the negative space. The greeting and the bats are from the September Paper Pumpkin Kit and are heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I adhered the negative part of the tag to the card with SNAIL, along with a thin strip of Basic Black and the positive part of the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  A few black enamel dots finish off the card. I love the layout and the negative and positive parts of the tag. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and that you all have a fantastic Friday and a safe and Happy Halloween! Thanks so much for visiting! 🙂

  1. Good Morning Justin. I am sorry to hear that you are down and out with a headache- they can be really debilitating. Awesome that you still got your blog out. Take care and feel better.

    1. Hi Marty,
I think that I have just been a little stressed. I rested and am feeling much better. I couldn’t miss a day! Thanks! 🙂

  2. Justin – Feel better soon! That card really packs a punch – owwww – did she really just say that? LOL. I like the effect of positive and negative space created by the punch and the background showing thru. Love it. I hope you feel well enough later to enjoy seeing trick or treaters and can relax over the week-end.

    1. Lisa!
Thank you! I am feeling better! LOLOL! You are so funny! I thought that punch was really cool! I got to see little Daniel, so cute! I hope that you had a nice day! 🙂

  3. Happy Hallowe’en! love the card, super idea with the negative space, a window to the background. feel better soon, have a nice w/e.

    1. Same to you Lynne! You spelled it the correct way too! Glad you like the card and I am feeling much better! You have a nice weekend too! 🙂

  4. Hi Justin:

Your Halloween card is one of the best I’ve seen this Halloween season. I love the bats and the negative/positive juxtaposition! Really super, duper card. I am amazed that you could still function enough to make a card with a headache. I used to get migraines. The kind where even the pillow hurt my head so I can certainly commiserate with you. Take it easy and if you can sneak in a nap by all means do. Hopefully you’ll feel better before the attack of the little goblins tonight.

    1. Hello Grace!
Yay! Thank you! I have to make my card! It wasn’t as bad last night and it was this morning, but it’s gone. I think it was just stress. I haven’t had one in a long time, hopefully won’t get one again. The goblins were really cute! 🙂

  5. Hope you fel better. Well we had a horrible Halloween based on the weather, Cold with winds up to 45 mph leaving our wind chill in the 20’s. Hardly any kids, and I drove to work in a white out, honetly, the snow was heavy, didn’t stick to the streets but a warning of what is to come.

awsome card,!!!!!! I love Gorgeous Grunge, my ultimate favorite stamp set. And I love tag cards. I love the negative effect, and a great way to use of those exttra bats. I used mine to decorate envelops but I still have alot left

    1. Thank you! Wow! that doesn’t sound like a fun Halloween at all! I hope that that’s not a taste of things to come! I’m glad that you enjoyed the card! Gorgeous Grunge is great! Have a great weekend! 🙂

  8. Hi Justin,
so sorry you are suffering with a headache. They are the worst! Hopefully you are feeling much better tonight.
I agree with grace, this is the best Halloween card I have seen this year! I love the positive/negative tag, it is very eye catching. Gorgeous grunge is a favorite of mine, it always makes a card I think.
My 3 year old Granddaughter’s Halloween was fun. A little chilly but no rain. I stayed home to pass out the candy. I always volunteer to do so because I love seeing all the kids in their costumes, so much fun.
I am feeling a bit better today. Not coughing nearly as much, thank goodness for that!
I hope your Halloween wasn’t too frightful for you!
    Donna
