Mojo 368

I am very tired boy today. Yesterday I was at work from 7:15am until 12:15 am, a very long day but a fun evening. My work peeps can be lots of fun! I even have a spiffy picture to share with you! LOL!

Justin Gala 2014

I clean up pretty nicely huh?! LOL! This morning I’m off to the city for a bit and then who knows?! I’ll fill you in tomorrow! For now lets get to today’s card and it’s for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo368

Nice and simple! I wanted to play with my little gift that I got again and it worked out perfectly for this layout! My card begins with a base of Smoky Slate Card Stock and the background is a piece of Soft Sky. Across the middle is a strip of paper from the All is Calm Designer Series Paper Pack. The panel in the middle is cut out using the Stitched Rectangles from Lawn Fawn. I stamped the Wintertime Stamp in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Watercolor Paper, masked the stitched edges with some Post-it Tape and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Lost Lagoon Ink to ink the paper and reveal the white heat embossed stamp. After I peeled off the Post-it tape I adhered the panel to the card with Fast Fuse Adhesive. The snowflake is from the Snowflake Card Thinlits and is cut out from a piece of Smoky Slate. A few Basic Jewels Rhinestone are place on the snowflake and it’s adhered to the card with a Glue Dot. I love the colors in the card and that stitched detail on the die is just too neat! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. I thank you for coming by and I hope that you all have a lovely Saturday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Justin,
You really DO clean up good!! You look great!!

Love the way you masked the edges of your panel and applied the lagoon (my favorite color). Great effect!! Really pretty card. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Gerri,
      Thanks! I try! LOL!
Lost Lagoon is my favorite too! I wanted to keep the stitching detail. Thank you again! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Hi Justin,

17 hours is too long to spend at work! UGH!!! But somehow you still managed to be up bright and early on a Saturday morning with another gorgeous card! Love the effect of the masked edges and the embossing. I’ve resisted the snowflake thinlits die so far, but with these pretty cards, my resistance is breaking down. LOL! Have a great weekend!

    1. Hello Melanie!
Yes, 17 hours is way too long! Thankfully I’m never too tired to make a card! Thanks so much! I love all of the elements in the Snowflake Thinlits! I hope that you are having a great weekend too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Justin,

LOL! Thanks! Yes, the tie kind of matches, blues are my favorite, especially watery ones! Thanks again. I feel better now that I have slept! I hope that you are having a nice weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Oh, look at you! Is that a Coastal Cabana, Pool Party, or Soft Sky tie? Always the SU man! I am so glad you had fun in spite of the very long day. I have been resisting the Snowflake Thinlit because then I will need the stamp set to go with it as well. We shall see. I am still working on Halloween cards! I don’t know how you work so fast on your creations. I hope to finish up this weekend. Have yourself a great weekend! Nancy B

    1. LOL!I think that the tie is somewhat Coastal Cabana! Yes, it’s funny how we always think of colors as Stampin’ Up! colors! You have to make the most if it! I think that the elements in the Snowflake Thinlit work pretty well all on their own! I am lucky that most of the time I can put the card together in my head! I hope that you are enjoying your weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Great card, I need use Lost Lagoon more! Loving the Coastal Cabana tie too ๐Ÿ™‚ what a looong day.

    1. Thank you Rachel! I LOVE Lost Lagoon! The tie is a great color too! I’m all rested up now and feel human again! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Hi Justin, I love your new address. Very bright and open. Your card is great. I like the position of the snowflake. Your picture is very nice and I’m happy you had a nice time at the gala. I’m sure you are enjoying this beautiful day.

    1. Hello Nancy!
Thank you! I am still working on adding back all of the badges but it’s moved and I feel better! Glad that you enjoyed the card! The Gala is fun, you just have to make the most of it! Yesterday was gorgeous in Manhattan! I hope that you are enjoying your weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Well you look pretty dapper. Love this card, I really like how you used Lost Lagoon as a coloring over your paper, from the photo it looks stippled or like a chalkboard effect.

We have Indian Summer here, I need to empty my flower pots and clean out the garden, I know this is the last of nice days. Have fun in where ever your travels take you

    1. Thank you very much Linda! I’m glad that you like the card too! Yes! I like the texture that the Watercolor Paper gives the panel. It was gorgeous here yesterday too! I hope that you got all of your stuff done and are enjoying your weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Greetings from San Antonio, TX. My, don’t you look spiffy. I’m amazed at all you do and still have the time to create such wonderful cards. I do like your new blog and want you to know, everything from you worked on my end. Hats off to Andrew, too! Have a great weekend. Like Nancy B, I am finishing my Halloween cards this weekend.

    1. Hello Brenda!
I have never been to San Antonio but must pay it a visit! Thanks! I try! I love creating! It’s my favorite thing to do! I’m happy that you like the new address and that everything is working! That’s a relief! Yes, Andrew is the best! I hope that you are having a great weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Hi Justin, Congrats on the new blog. It really pays to have friends in the “know”! Your card is really refreshing looking. I really like the use of the watercolor paper for added texture and your rectangle die. Maybe you will inspire SU to offer one soon. Also, a very nice picture of yourself which seems to be color coordinated with the card. Was that just a happy coincidence? Hope you had a restful day.

    1. Hello Roseanne!
Thank you! It definitely does pay to have great friends! I’m happy that you like the card! I love the texture of the inked Watercolor Paper! The dies it so neat, the stitching detail is very popular right now. I hope that Stampin’ Up! will offer something like them! Thanks! I thought it would be nice to see me all dressed up as I’m not a fan of suits! I love the watery blues so it may have just been a happy coincidence! I’m got a good nights sleep last night and feel much better today! ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. I know I’m behind on reading your posts but I always get caught up at some point! I had to comment on the unusual color combo which I would not have thought to put together, but I love it. It is so pretty. When we open a card, I think the colors are the first things that register in our minds. These are soft and wistful, yet different enough to make them contrast so well against each other. The watercolor paper is a nice touch, too, and the star is stunning! A lovely piece of art.

    1. I’m happy that you take that time to get caught up Georgie! I love those colors together! They have a nice frosty feel to them! I agree that making a first impression right out of the envelope is key! Thank you so much! Enjoy your day! ๐Ÿ™‚
