Pals Paper Arts 224

Oh yes my friends, it’s once again my favorite day of the week! This week actually went kind of fast! I didn’t get to run an errand yesterday but three days in a row wasn’t bad. I did spend a little time today at work keeping up with the Apple Event. They launched new iPads, iPad mini’s, a refreshed Mac mini and a new iMac with a screen resolution higher than the highest HDTV’s! I’m in the market for a new iMac and now that they have updated them I can go and get me one, maybe I’ll do that this weekend. Last night was pretty quiet. I had a package from Mr. Brown and come home and played with some new goodies. Watched a tiny bit of TV and spoke to my friend Danielle for an hour on the phone. Oh, I’m glad that you enjoyed my friend Michael’s blog yesterday, thanks for going over and having a look! 🙂

My time in the Stampin’ Galley last night yielded today’s card which is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

PPA 224

When I saw this set a week or so ago I couldn’t wait to get it. I so wanted to color it in and the sketch worked out to be perfect for it! My card base is Basic Black Card Stock and the background is a piece of Whisper White. I stamped the greeting from the Gentle Peace Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black in the lower right corner. A piece of Crumb Cake, Baked Brown Sugar and Soft Suede are embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered on top of the White with SNAIL. My main image is also from the Gentle Peace Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum Card Stock. I used my Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Pacific Point, Lost Lagoon, Pool Party, Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede and “Vintage” Blush Blossom Stampin’ Write Markers to color in the image. I adhered the vellum to a piece of Whisper White and cut it out with my paper Snips. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. I love the way the white behind the image makes the colors pop and the tricolor woodgrain keeps the card simple and doesn’t take away from the stained glass window! I really love the image, and heat embossed on the velum and colored in with markers, it really does look like stained glass! I hope that you enjoyed my Pals Paper Arts card for this week’s sketch challenge. I love to get new toys and share the projects with you! I hope that you all have a fabulous Friday! Thanks for checking in! 🙂

  1. Great Job! Love this set. Love the heat embossing on the velum. I like the black base and the wooden strips too. Again, great card.
    🙂

  2. Using the velum to stamp the image was a wonderful idea and embossing it in the black definitely made it take on the look of stained glass. Loved it.

  3. Justin, this is so beautiful. Love the colors on vellum. Love the good message. It makes me happy for Christmas to be coming because people are so much nicer to each other then. Have you noticed? Also the wood panels are perfect. Way to go!

  5. I knew the minute I saw this set I just had to have it. Hasn’t arrived yet, so thank you for a preview. It’s beautiful! I want to try it with Blendabilities, too, to get that “sunlight through the window” effect. Wish me luck.

  6. Yes Carol! I agree with you, it’s a great set! I will give it a try with Blendabilities too! I just thought that the original markers gave me more color choices. Good luck, you’ll have to let me know how it goes! 🙂

  8. Justin, this is over the top stunning. Anyone sitting on the fence on this stamp set will be adding it to their next order. Truly a WOW result. Thank you for playing with the Pals and I would love to know if you get the new iMac about your experience. I too am a techie junkie.
