White Christmas Cobbler

Friday during the day is becoming less of a favorite of mine. Work seems to be very busy on Friday’s, what can you do?! I did manage to sneak out and get my new iMac today! As soon as I escape though, it’s all good. I had some dinner and then Andrew came over. I started to set up the iMac and Andrew took on the rather daunting challenge of moving my blog to a hosted site. It was not fun at all! We were on the phone with GoDaddy support for at least two hours and it’s still not quite finished. He has gotten most of the posts over but there is still some work to be done. I’m hoping to have it finished by Monday! Andrew’s efforts last night deserve a big round of applause! I say it all the time but I’m lucky that he is such an awesome friend! Oh, I know what I forgot to mention, Andrew is doing a blog as a project for school. You can take a peek at it HERE! 🙂

So, I had to make a quick card last night amidst the new computer set up and blog chaos, this is what I came up with.

The card actually did start off with a base of Cherry Cobbler Card Stock today. The background is a piece of Whisper White that is cut out with a gift that I received from a friend. It’s actually a die from a set from Lawn Fawn called the Small Stitched Rectangles. I think the stitching detail around the edge is pretty neat. All of my stamped images are from the White Christmas Photopolymer Stamp Set. The trees and hill are stamped in Soft Suede, the snow in Soft Sky and the greeting in Cherry Cobbler. My car is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Whisper White and colored in with Cherry Cobbler, Smoky Slate and Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Write Markers. I thought the card needed something else so I put a strip of Soft Suede under it. Andrew suggested that some white lines might be in order, so I used my uni-ball Signo Gel Pen to draw them in. You know what? He was right! And there you have another late night card from me this week. Simple, and would be pretty easy to mass produce, so I think it would make a great Christmas card. I hope you enjoyed the card and our little adventure from last night. I will keep you posted on the blog transition by sending out a post stating that it’s about to happen. Fingers crossed that everything goes well! Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a super Saturday! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin
Another great card! I love this stamp set, you can do so much with it, as seen by your design. I love the lawn fawn dies! I think the stitching adds so much to the card. Andrew was absolutely right about adding the white lines, good eye Andrew!
I am so jealous about your new Mac! I love mine, I have had it for about 3 years. I don’t think Iwill ever go back to a pc!
It sounds like a lot of work to switch over your blog, i am keeping my fingers crossed for a smooth transition!
I have been mia again, I just keep having health issues. To top things off, I fell Wednesday night and banged myself up pretty good. And last night I came down with the cold everyone seems to have! Oh well, that’s how life goes sometimes. I just keep putting one foot in front of the other! It could be so much worse!
    Have a great Saturday!
    Donna

  2. Very seasonal card! Typical of loading up the car and going. Ha, hoping for no snow on this Christmas. Like the sentiment, just enough. Still have this set on my wish list.

  10. Over the hills and through the snow to Grandmother’s house we go! Super fantastic. Love it! I have seen the ‘stitched dies’ around and really like the look. I need to purchase some. Way to go Andrew for helping Justin with your input. Enjoyed reading Andrew’s blog.

  11. Quick card? This is really great. I think I need to clone Andrew, I have no techncal knowledge, my kids are at scholl. And I have spent three days trying to get my dead Jawbone to work. Frustrating. But its Sayurday, yes!

It is a ton of work to move the bog but Andrew has done most of the work. Lots of files to upload. The guy at GoDaddy support said he has never heard of a blog with 1138 posts! I’ll keep you posted!!
