Creation Station – Seasonally Scattered

creation station header

It was a rainy and dreary day here yesterday and I was in Trenton, New Jersey for a rubber stamp show with some friends, more on that tomorrow. Today it’s time for another Creation Station Blog Tour! This time we are featuring the Seasonally Scattered Stamp Set and Gift Card Holders. If you are following along on the tour you have arrived here from Jennifer Frost’sΒ Blog. Always a treat to see what she has! I have two projects for today’s tour, a card and a gift card holder so lets get to them.

My card features the Seasonally Scattered Stamp Set and two of my favorite things, Vellum and Heat Embossing! The base of the card is Pumpkin Pie Card Stock and my background is a piece of Old Olive that I embossed one of the stamps from the Everything Eleanor Stamp Set in Crushed Curry Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used the Angled Tag Topper Punch and some Vellum to create my three tags. My Grid Paper helps toΒ line up the tags and image from the Seasonally Scattered Stamp Set. I stamped the two outside ones first and then the center one with Versa-Mark. The two outside ones are heat embossed in Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the inside one in Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Some strategically placed 2-Way Glue adheres them to the card. Love the vellum and the way it lets the swirl peek through form the back!

The gift card holder is next. I used the Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlit to cut out a piece of Kraft Card Stock for the card and Mossy Meadow for the ties. A few pieces of Sticky Strip and the holder is assembled. The three tress are from the Festival of Trees Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Mossy Meadow on Mossy Meadow. The garland is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. My greeting is from the Christmas Tagables Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Mossy Meadow on Very Vanilla and punched out with the Hexagon Punch. A piece of Gold Sequin Trim is tucked under it and adhered to the holder with a Stampin’ Dimensional. I used a Mini Brad to secure the ties in place and some Linen Thread holds it closed. I love the rustic feel of the Kraft with the Mossy Meadow and the gold just gives it enough shine!

I love these two cards and especially the envelope. I’m very partial to the envelopes too. I was always told not to forget the envelopes too! Have a great Sunday.

(P.S. still have to enter name to post.)

  2. Hi Justin
The gift card holder is really nice. I like the way you combined the rustic craft look with some gold to dress it up. Just enough to give it a little pop.
Spending my Sunday morning following the tour is so much fun!

    1. Hello Marty!
Thank you! I love the Kraft and the Gold together! I am happy that you enjoy the tour!! I hope you also enjoyed the rest of your Sunday! πŸ™‚

  3. Justin,
LOVE the gift card holder. The colors are great and the gold trim is perfect. Hope you don’t mind if I case this. It’s perfect for my nephew. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Gerri!
Thank you!! The holder is simple enough to make a few of but still has a nice look! Please, CASE all you want! πŸ™‚

  4. Hi Justin:

I just wrote this 4 paragraph commentary on how fabulous and beautiful today’s projects are and when I finished and hit the “post comment” button I got a screen that said I timed out and lost it all. I don’t want to have to rewrite it all so I won’t but let me ask you this – what is the time limit that one has before the comment times out?

Have yourself a Superb Sunday my friend and I can’t wait to hear about the stamp show. We used to have them here but it’s been a number of years since the last one. BTW – it’s snowing like crazy here! πŸ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
Oh no! I’m sorry!! I actually didn’t know there was a time limit! I’ll have to take a look. πŸ™
I had a great weekend all around! As you saw the stamp show was fun! NO!! No snow Grace, it’s too early!! πŸ™‚

  5. OK I quit… there is no way I can keep up with you. The fist card is FANTASTIC! I LOVE the idea of velum tags, and the embossed effect awesome. Now the second card, OMG I LOVE IT!. I need at leat a month off of work to CAS your ideas.

    1. LOL!! Thanks so much Linda! Vellum is so versatile and has a such a great look! I’m glad that you enjoyed both projects! Just think of all that I could get done if I didn’t have a day job!! πŸ™‚

  6. I love the vellum tags, very pretty card. Years ago I bought a spray glue for vellum, stinky! (I spray outside) but effective.

    1. Thank you Lynne! What glue did you buy?! That’s the hardest part with Vellum, finding a creative way to attach it! πŸ™‚

  7. I agree–I love the flourish peeking out through the vellum from the background! Great idea. You are so creative!

  8. I love your gift card holder–it is simply stunning in its rusticity! I also adore the way you stage your projects. That requires creativity and forethought!

    1. Thanks Kathy! It is definitely rustic, but clean rustic! The pictures are so much more fun for me now, picking what is going to go in them! Glad that you are enjoying them! πŸ™‚

  9. Hi Justin! My fave is the Seasonally Scattered with the Cherry and Espresso embossing. So special! Looks like you had a fun weekend. Thanks for sharing!
