Holiday Snow Globe

Did you all survive the onslaught of goblins and ghouls?! Are you in a sugar coma?! LOL! My headache finally went away yesterday evening. I haven’t had one like that in a long time and hope to not have one again! I did get to see little Daniel in his costume and he was just the cutest!! Here he is, my little monkey!

Monkey Daniel

Complete with a banana in his pocket! I just love him so much! His birthday is coming up soon! Can’t believe that he is going to be a year old already! My day was pretty uneventful and once my headache went away I sat down and made a card for today. Yes, it’s another shaker! LOL!

The card starts off with a base of Real Red Card Stock. For the front of the shaker I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out a negative from a piece of Smoky Slate. The base is a piece of Soft Suede, I also used the Circles Collection Framelits and angled the sides to make it look like a base. My greeting is from the Project Life December Wonder Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. A piece of Whisper White serves as the background. All of my images are from the Holiday Home Photopolymer Stamp Set. The house is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers. Santa and the reindeer are markered in Real Red and Soft Suede and the two trees are stamped in Mossy Meadow along with the wreath. Some foam tape holds the glitter inside. The flower is cut out with one of the dies from Wonderful Wreath Framelits. I colored a few Basic Jewel Pearls with the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers and adhere the whole thing to the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional. A fun card that brings back memories of many snow globes that I had when I was a kid! I hope that you enjoyed and are inspired by my card for you today. Thank you for your well wishes yesterday and for stopping by today, Have a great Saturday! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin.
OMG! How adorable. The little monkey that is. Way too cute! I love to see them all dressed up, when their this little. As grown-ups, not so much. Some people take it to extremes.
Can’t forget about Uncle Justin, adorable card. 🙂 l love shaker cards. Don’t always have the patience to do them though. As always, great card. Stay safe and have a wonderful day! Hugs, Donna 🙂

    1. Hello Donna!
He is a cutie!! They are just too adorable when they are little! I agree with you about the grown-ups, unless it’s a custom party or if the parents are doing a theme with the kids. Thank you! I had a lot of fun making the card. I had a great day and hope that you did too! Hugs!! 🙂

  2. Oh he is soooo cute Jusin. Absolutely adorable. And your card is so darling. Love the punch of colors. Thanks for the inspiration. Have a super weekend. It’s snowing lightly here…. but I don’t think it will stick..”.. sure hope not!

    1. Thank you on both counts Louise! Daniel is very cute but the costume was great! You can keep your snow by the way! LOL! I had a great day and hope that you did too! 🙂

  3. I love this shaker card! I am not usually a big fan of shaker cards but this one is fabulous! Really captures the spirit of Christmas!

    1. Thanks Gerri! He was so happy, especially when they were pulling him around in his little red wagon! A snow globe means Christmas to me! 🙂

  4. My daughter would love the little monkey which is her favorite animal and her nickname. Too cute. The card is just wonderful, full of great things that make Christmas special.

  5. Good Morning Justin:

So glad you got rid of your nasty headache. A headache that bad can really screw up your time until it’s gone.

Love, love, love this card. I have always loved snow globes and you did a fantastic job with this one. The Holiday Home set is so much fun and I love the fact that the photopolymer stamps can actually be shaped.

Daniel looks adorable and I bet he had a lot of fun playing monkey. We don’t get trick or treaters here because there are very few kids in our neighborhood and the houses are so far apart. I buy chocolate candy “just in case” and, gee whiz, we just have to eat it rather than have it go to waste! LOL

Don’t forget to turn your clock back tonight. Also, we may get snow on Sunday. A bit too early even for me, the Snow Queen. Have yourself a super Saturday! 🙂

    1. Hello Grace!
I did get rid of the headache, it stayed a lot longer than I wanted it to!
Thank you! I too have always loved snow globes and the holiday home set is perfect for them!
Daniel is just too cute! He did have a lot of fun! LOL! We get a lot of trick or treaters so we get extra candy just in case for the same reason! LOL!
Thanks for the reminder, I just did it! No snow please! It is definitely too early for that stuff! I had a wonderful day and hope you did too! 🙂

  6. Justin you nailed it! You don’t know how appropriate your card is today. Woke up today to a thin blanket of snow in my part of Ohio. Not joking. Absolutely love the creativity of your card. Little Mr. Monkey is adorable. Looks like Daniel could be a ornery little monkey. Good to hear you are feeling back to your normal self again. Have a great weekend. Extra hour of sleep…..Yippeeeee

    1. Thank you very much Lisa! Oh, it’s too early for snow!! Daniel can be a little monkey but 90% of the time he is just so good! I am feeling great! I hope you are having a good weekend! 🙂

  7. Oh I love snowglobes, awesome card. Daniel is adorable, due to our poor weather we had no trick or treaers, depressing. I love looking at the kids, they are so excited and so adorable. Have an awesome day

    1. Yes Linda! Me too! Sorry that your Halloween was messed up. The little ones are really cute coming around for their treats! Next year! Hope you had a great day! 🙂

  8. Your little monkey buddy is a cutie pie! What a clever way to use the Holiday Home set. You’ve given me some inspiration. Thanks for sharing, Justin.

  9. Cutest monkey I’ve seen in a long time! Good to hear you’re feeling better. I love today’s card; it’s especially timely because of the VERY cold weather that blew in here yesterday.

    1. Yay! He is really adorable, but I’m biased on that! LOL! Yup, amazing what a little rest can do! I really am not looking forward to the winter and snow at all! Hope you are having a good weekend! 🙂

  10. I don’t what’s the cutest today – Young Daniel dressed as a monkey or that snow globe – both lovely! Like your ‘JK’ letter props too. So glad you’re feeling better and your headache has gone. Have a great day!

    1. Aww, thanks Joanne! Daniel is definitely the winner I think! The card is pretty neat too! LOL! I have a lot of fun deciding which props to use! Hopefully I won’t get a headache again anytime soon. I hope that you had a good day too! 🙂

  11. Brilliant idea and execution Justin! Love it. Makes me want to reach out and give it a shake just like any other snow globe. Little monkey really is a cutie…glad the headache passed. Never any fun.

    1. Thank so much Jean!! I really do love shaker cards! Daniel is so much fun and so happy! He’s great! I would like to not get another headache like that one! 🙂
