Mojo 370

A very good Thursday to you! It was overcast all day yesterday and is raining here this morning, it’s to rain all day. It’s supposed to be nice at the weekend so it’s all good right?! I went with Heather to see another apartment last night and she thinks that this is the one. She is going to go back on Friday with her mom to get another opinion and hopefully that will go well. It’s not an easy task to find an apartment in these parts! Ahh… and then the move, not my favorite for sure! At least she will be all settled before the holidays and that’s a good thing.

Today my post is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo370

I knew what I was going to do for the entire card except for one little piece. The card base for today is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Mossy Meadow. A strip of paper from the Trim the Tree DSP Stack goes across the middle and some Baked Brown Sugar Thick Baker’s Twine is adhered around the back across the top before the base is mounted to the card. All of the images and greeting are from the Ornamental Pine Stamp Set, the pine needles are stamped in Mossy Meadow on Whisper White and adhered to the card. I stamped the pinecones in Soft Suede and cut them out with my Paper Snips, a little Dazzling Details is added before adhering them with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the greeting I used a pice of Soft Suede and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The bottom is flagged and that too is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Another piece of Soft Suede is punched with the Scallop Edge Punch and tucked under the stamped panel. Finally, the joy is from the Snowflake Card Thinlits and is cut from a piece of Cherry Cobbler and also adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. That was the one thing that I couldn’t figure out what I was I was going to put there! I really do love Mossy Meadow for Holiday cards, especially when it’s paired with Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I appreciate you taking some time to come and see me and I wish you a happy Thursday! 🙂

  8. Good Morning Justin:

Finally an absolutely gorgeous Christmas card done in traditional colors. I just fell in love with this one. For some reason I just can’t wrap myself around non traditional cards. You’re right about the plaid. It does make the card look very warm and “homey”. Wish I had that pine cone set! Just beautiful.

I’m so glad you are going with Heather to look at apartments. I have concluded that it is no longer safe for a woman to go and check these things out alone. It’s a sad state of affairs when a woman can’t feel safe doing these things on her own. You’re a good friend Justin and that’s why you have so many wonderful friends yourself. Thank you for helping keen her safe.

    1. Hello Grace!
Yay! Thank you! Yes, Christmas cards done in the traditional colors are a bit more festive! The stamp set is great, I love the elements in it.
I was happy to go with Heather and unfortunately you are right, the world is just too crazy of a place. I’m the friend I am because of the friends I keep. Hugs!! XO 🙂

  9. Love the pine and the plaid, and isn’t Mossy Meadow the most satisfying shade? You look into its green heart, and say to yourself, “Mmmm!” (At least, I do.) Haha Hope you have a super-easy, fun Friday.

    1. Thanks Georgie! Love the plaid and yes, Mossy Meadow is just a lovely green! Love your description of it! I hope that you too have a great Friday! 🙂

  10. love this creation. I love pinecones. I think of walking inthe woods or on horseback, in the stillness of the forest and the scent of fresh pine.

Ok now reality…. I’m still in Bloomington, boring but I get to leave tomorrow. College health is not the most interesting conference topic, but I did spend time with my daughter and that was awesome

    1. Thank you Linda! Yes, I love when I can look at something and it instantly brings up a memory or feeling!
LOL! Something that isn’t that great bolstered by seeing your daughter, I would say that your daughter definitely outweighed the rest! Good of you! 🙂

  11. I love this card! You are so creative and generous to share your ideas so freely. I’m happy I bought this stamp set and hope to case this…it’s my favorite of all the cards I’ve seen done with Ornamental Pine! Kudos to you!

    1. Thank you very much Susan! I love sharing my ideas with all of you and chatting with you! Makes it all worth it! The stamp set is just great, and the plaid in that DSP might be my favorite! 🙂
