Pals Paper Arts 227

Since I had the day off today I decided to sleep in a little, something that I never do. Not much to report today, just glad to be off of work. I’m going to try and get some things done around the house and maybe see some peeps. Oh, and let’s wish Michael a safe flight home, and a speedy return back here real soon.

Today I have my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

PPA 227

I did another watercolor card, I just can’t get enough of it lately! My card starts off with a base of Pumpkin Pie Card Stock, on top of that is a piece of Crushed Curry to back the main panel. I stamped the flower from the Blooming with Kindness Stamp Set in Crushed Curry and then took my damp paint brush and pulled the color from the stamped image into the flower. We have some really great images for watercoloring with this technique and this is one of the best ones. Some Old Olive is brushed on to the stem and completes the flower. The greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Finally I stamped the butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set in Pumpkin Pie, watercolored it too and punched it out with the Elegant Butterfly punch and adhered it with a Stampin’ Dimensional. A little fluff of the wings and the card is finished. A simple but pretty birthday card for someone special! I really hope that you are enjoying my little obsession with watercoloring and that you liked today’s card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge. I thank you for stopping by and I hope that you all have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

  1. Justin, I’m loving your watercoloring. This is the first time I’ve seen this stamp and really liked the stem. I’ve used it in the past and just didn’t ink up the stem. But it looks great on your card.
Enjoy your day off and have a great weekend.

    1. Thank you Gerri! I;m really enjoying the watercoloring and it’s so nice and simple to do it this way! I hope that you are having a good weekend! 🙂

  2. Great watercoloring Justin. Glad to see that yes you CAN do it i.e. sleep in a little! It was snowing early this morning so I decided to stay home. The radio is reporting a lot of accidents between here and work so really, since they terminated me, I don’t feel as guilty when I don’t force myself to drive in those conditions.
Hope little Daniel has a wonderful birthday and wishing you a super weekend. And safe trip back to your friend too…. it’s a long way!

    1. Thank you Louise! LOL! I did sleep in, not like me at all. Just in a little bit of a funk. You shouldn’t feel guilty for staying home, even if they didn’t terminate you! Your safety is the most important thing!
The party will be fun! Michael arrived safely this morning. You have a nice weekend my friend! 🙂

  3. Oh my, oh my, oh my Justin! This card is so amazingly beautiful that I can’t even find the words to describe it. Dramatic – that’s what it is – dramatic! Having that white space around this gorgeous flower allows the flower to really take the stage. Can you tell that I absolutely love it? LOL And, of course, the butterfly would be attracted to such an awesomely fabulous bloom.

    Have a safe trip Michael!

    1. Thank you! I can tell that you love it!! That makes me happy! Michael arrived safely this morning. 🙂
