Paper Craft Crew 119

Wow! It’s Wednesday already! Not too bad and I just remembered that Thanksgiving is next week! Yes, I have been in my own little world lately! Where has this year gone?! It was very cold here today, in the 30’s! It always happens too fast don’t you think? I was in a t-shirt last week, today a sweater. I am so not a fan of the winter, but what can you do? Of course since it got cold Taylor thought that it was the perfect time to put her new car stereo in at 7:30 last night. So not only cold but pretty dark too! I did get it finished and she was a happy little camper. The rest of my evening was spent listening to music and thinking way too much. A way to pass the time I guess! LOL! Thank you again for your wonderful comments! I could say it every day and it still wouldn’t be enough! ๐Ÿ™‚

Wednesday, well that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS119 Sketch 11-19-2014

For some unknown reason as soon as I saw the sketch I thought of an image and had to go digging to find it! The card base for today is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I used a piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock that I embossed with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. Next up is a piece of the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper backed with a piece of Basic Black. A piece of Silver Foil Sheet punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch goes in the upper left and some Basic Black Baker’s Twine is wrapped around three times and tied in a bow off to the side. I adhered the background to the base with some SNAIL. The image is from the “Vintage” All Aboard Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. My greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Cherry Cobbler. I backed it with some Cherry Cobbler and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love that image of the train and it works so well for a Christmas card! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Head on over to the blog to see what the other designers have for your inspiration and enter your card in the gallery for us to see! Thank you all so much for spending a little time with me today! I wish you all a wonderful Wednesday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Love that “vintage” image! Great card Justin. Super cold here too. Way too early if you ask me! You have a good day. Cheer up, it’s already middle of the week.

    1. Thank you Louise! It’s a great train! I’m over the cold already! It is definitely too early! Yes, we are past Wednesday! WEE! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Hi Justin- wonderful card with a vintage feel for sure. Here in Arizona we have a wonderful train that goes from Williams to the Grand Canyon. During the Christmas season they run a Polar Express that is just magical! This card reminds me of that experience.
Thanks for the great card today and glad it’s already Wednesday!

    1. Hello Marty!
Thank you! I love that train! I would like to come to Arizona one day, I hear that it’s lovely! I’m happy that it’s Wednesday too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Good Morning Brian. Love the train for Christmas, really reminds me of my train set. Love the colors too.

Now . . . What is it with that image of a piglet and the letters MAT?

    ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hi Nancy!
LOL! Brian?! He he! Better than Jason! LOL! Thank you! Hmm.. I wonder what the piglet and initials mean?!?! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. wonderful! the Polar Express, love it. we have had -15C the past couple of weeks, had to buy some thermal ‘leggings’ for walking the dog ๐Ÿ™

    1. Yes Lynne! The Polar Express is just what I was thinking of too! UGH! -15, no thank you! I would need a heat lamp! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Absolutely fabulous card! I know a lot of guys who would love it. Gee, now where is my stamp?!

  6. LOVE this card Justin! I always liked trains and using this train front and center, does remind me of traveling to see loved ones for the holidays. Great idea! Love what you did with the brushed gold card stock too. Very cool. On a side note, I hope you are doing better. I was actually a little worried you seemed so down. If you want to email me personally, please do so, and maybe I can cheer you up. ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a great day! And stay warm…. it’s even a bit chilly here in the northern parts of AZ, but down in the valley where I am, it’s cold at night, but mid 70’s during the day. I can take that…. and being from Chicago, I do not miss that cold, snowy weather at all. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks so much Bobbi! I love trains! I am a little better, I am a little down but it’s life. Thank you so much for the offer, it means a lot to me! You always cheer me up! I hope that you had a nice day! You can keep the cold just in case you were wondering! I can do 70’s during the day! Chicago is way too cold for me! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Hi Justin! Love your card! I love that vintage train…so cool. I think the embossing of the brushed gold really pops against the cherry cobbler cardstock. That’s still one of my favorite colors. Your props always look perfect with your card. How nice that you got to spend some time with Taylor last night…I know she appreciates your help with her stereo. We had a little dusting of snow this morning, just enough to make the morning commute ugly. Hope your day is going good!

    1. Hello Karen!
Thank you! I love that train, such great image! Cherry Cobbler is one of my faves too! I have so much fun with props, but I need to get some more! Taylor is a good kid and was very happy to have her new radio installed. I don’t want any snow, keep that please! My day was pretty good and I hope that yours was too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. vintage Christmas, LOVE it!!! I’m am still complaining about our weather, made it up to 23 today, but the wind is still horrid. Then I thnk of the Folks in Buffalo and I thank God i only have cold and wind. I’m sure Taylor appreciated it, LOL kids always do that

    1. Yes Linda! Love me some “Vintage”! I don’t think that the cold is that bad as long as there is no wind, then its awful! Taylor was a happy camper! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Hi Justin:

Absolutely love this card. Who would ever think of using a train on a Christmas card? See, that’s the difference between a real artist and people like me. I have a train stamp and only use it on male birthday cards. Evidently my brain doesn’t think “outside the box” so I’m glad there are people like you around for me to try to get ideas from. A Gazillion thanks for all the inspiration you give me to push myself into being more creative. Hope you had a Wonderful Wednesday! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
Thanks! I love that image! I love trains! You are just as much of an artist as I am, I could never do some of the things that you do! I am honored that I get to inspire you my friend! I had a good day and hope that you did too! ๐Ÿ™‚
