Paper Players 221

I had such nice weekend and it seemed like a long weekend too! Yesterday I was in Manhattan most of the day visiting friends. I even got to have dinner at the diner with Kim. It was a relatively nice day too weather wise. On my way home I stopped at Target to pick up a few things and then crafted for a bit before I decided that I needed to try and catch up on some of my sleep. How was your weekend? What were you guys up to?

It’s Monday and that means it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge. This week my friend Sandy has given us a color challenge…

Paper Players #221

I did see a Holiday card when I looked at them but my friend Danielle needs a congratulations card for her mom who just got a promotion at work so I went with some flowers. The card base for today’s card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I used the Hexagon Hive Thinlit to cut out a piece of Very Vanilla for my background and adhered it to the base with 2-Way Glue. All of the stamps are from the Flower Patch Photopolymer Stamp Set. The flowers are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and the leaves in Mossy Meadow. I cut them all out with the Flower Fair Framelits including the flower middles. My leaves are adhered to the card with SNAIL and the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used some more 2-Way Glue to adhere the centers and brushed them with some Wink of Stella Glimmer Pen to give them a little sparkle (which you can’t see in the picture). The greeting is heat embossed in Cherry Cobbler and cut out with the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits. I used my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker around the edge to give it a little definition and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals too. A nice simple card to let someone know how great you think they are. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge from Sandy. I appreciate your stopping by today and I wish you all a great start to your week! 🙂

  1. Great card for a great occasion. Sounds like you had a great weekend. I also liked your “snow” card from yesterday. I made one card this weekend, but did get to spend time with family. I have two to make for tomorrow.
    🙂

    1. Thank you Nancy! I did have a wonderful weekend filled with friends, the best kind always! I had fun with the “snow” card, I love that stencil! There is plenty of time to craft, family is always more important! 🙂

  2. Hi Justin! This is such a pretty card. I love the way the vanilla just pops on the crumb cake! And you can never have too many flowers in my opinion. 😉 I will try your tip with the marker but you have such a steady hand, mine would never look as good as yours! Have a great Monday!

    1. Hello Karen!
Thanks so much! I love that Hexagon Die, it’s such a nice simple background and works well with so much, but it definitely looks best with flowers! I just run the edge of the paper against the marker, it’s pretty easy and I love the effect! I hope that you had a great Monday, mine was pretty good! 🙂

  3. Hi Justin, I am overwhelmed by the awesomeness of this card! I have used this sentiment for a number of different occasions but it is absolutely perfect for a promotion. Great job!

    1. Thanks very much Roseanne! I love the sentiment! It really is a great one and I like the font too! I thought that it was more appropriate than just plain old congrats! 🙂

  4. Awesome card! I too thought holiday immediately, but once again your creative brain cells went to work.

weekend was short but sweet. I was in a fog Saturday after traveling ths past week. But I did get two cards done. yesterday I started making my table decorations for Thanksgiving…. Candy apples, really cute. and f course filled with Werthers Carmels, Yum

  5. Sorry if this is a duplicate, I forgot to fill my info in and the post was not accepted.

Awesome creation, I too saw Holiday when I saw the inspiration photo, but once again your creative brain cells went to work.

weekend was short but sweet. I was in a fog Saturday after traveling this past week, but I did get two cards made. Then yesterday I started making my table decorations for Thansgiving. Candy Apples, using the Curvey Gift Box die, naturally they are filled with Werthers Carmels, yummy

    1. No apologies necessary Linda! People were saying that they didn’t like to type their name each time, but I like to know who I’m chatting with!! I appreciate you taking the time to redo the comment!
Thanks so much! I definitely needed a break from Holiday cards and I needed the congrats card so I figured, kill two birds with one stone! My weekend actually felt long which was great! I was in a bit of a fog after my 3 hours of sleep every night last week, but it was all worth it! Your decorations sound great!! I love Wherther’s Caramels! 🙂

    1. WOW! I have asked a bunch of other people and they are still getting the post in the morning Grace. Still trying to figure out what’s going on.

  6. Justin, such an “awesome” card in our colors! I just love this flower set! The Very Vanilla background makes your image pop! Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players this week! XX
