Snowflake Wonder Christmas

Happy Saturday peeps! Did you score any really good Black Friday deals? I avoided Black Friday for the most part. I did go out with Anthony and Bill last night to the Apple Store to get Anthony his new iMac. The store wasn’t really busier than any other Friday night. They don’t have any deals though at Apple. I did get to see my friend Lauren and she was really helpful as always. We went to Friday’s for dinner after and I had a Sam Adams Winter Lager, quite tasty! I came home and Skyped with my friend Eva while I made my card for today, that was fun! Today is clean the house day, I hope! LOL!

As you know I like to share all kinds of things with you on my blog. I’m a big fan of design of any kind. My friend Nicole from work has been working on redoing her living room and dining room for a while now and she finally got it finished. She showed me the pictures the other day and I LOVE what she did! The rooms have a rustic modern feel to them and I love all of the elements that she put together! Here is her new dining room. Check out the awesome table and really cool chairs, not to mention her favorite part, the chandelier with the Edison bulb!

And in her living room I love the dresser that the TV is on along with the coffee table! The rug is completely unexpected but works so well with all of the other elements!

Plus the pictures have a sort of magazine quality feel to them! Awesome job Nicole and thank you for letting me share the pictures!

Today’s card has been floating around in my head for a little while and I decided that it was finally time to bring it to life. To make the card base I used a piece of Whisper White Card Stock cut to 3 1/2″ wide (tall & skinny!) and covered the entire front with a piece of Brushed Gold Metallic Card Stock. The background is a piece of Night of Navy, I heat embossed the snowflakes from the Project Life December Wonder Photopolymer Stamp Set in Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the greeting from the Endless Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A piece of “Vintage” Pool Party Baker’s Twine is tied in a bow off to the left and the panel is adhered to the base with SNAIL. The 25 and Very Merry are also from the December Wonder Set and are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. I used the Hexagon Punch to punch out the 25 and the 1″ Circle Punch for the Very Merry. The large swirl is from the Sweetie Pie Frames Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits. I used some 2-Way Glue to adhere the large and small circles and Stampin’ Dimensionals for the 25. A Basic Jewel Rhinestone in the middle of each of the snowflakes completes the card. I am so loving the blues for the Holidays, more so than ever before and with a little gold I think it’s the perfect combination! I really hope that you enjoyed my blue Christmas card for today’s post and Nicole’s new rooms. Thank you so much for stopping by, I wish you all a stupendous Saturday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. I love your friends living room and dining room. The spaces flow into each other seamlessly!
Your card is beautiful. I love the colors and texture!

  2. The card is very nice. I love the “25” which could be use for a special anniversary too. I guess any of those numbers could be used for birthdays as well. Of course, anyone over 13 wouldn’t want their age on the card. Ha. Ha. . . . except maybe that lady who I made the 100 year old card for.

Nicole’s apartment is beautiful. I like all the elements and the “nothing out of place” look to it.

    Have a great Saturday!

    1. Thank you Nancy! Yes, the 25 would work for an anniversary or birthday! Ahh, to be 25 again! LOL! I don’t mind having my age on my card! LOL!
Glad you like the rooms! She did do a great job! I hope that you had a good Saturday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Hi Justin! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Ours was nice except for the snow storm here in Cleveland that made driving that night treacherous for our guests return home. Everyone made it safe and sound though so all is good.

I love Nicole’s dining room! Very cool! She has a great eye for design! I’m also loving your card today. I’ve been on the fence about the December Wonder set. You may have just made up my mind! I hope you have a great weekend!

    Hugs

    1. Hello Vicki!
I did have a nice Thanksgiving and I’m glad that we didn’t get any snow! I’m glad to hear that everyone made it safely!
Nicole did a fabulous job! I love all of the elements in her rooms! I have used that December Wonder Set so much, I’m glad that I got it! Hope you are enjoying you weekend too! Hugs back at ya! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Justin,
Your friends home is Beautiful!! I love the rustic feel of it. The window treatments are great. Makes me want to make big changes to my place

Love your card! The white and gold embossing with the navy backdrop is stunning. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Thank you Gerri!
I too love that it’s rustic but very clean! It makes me want to do some stuff here too!
Thanks! I love the gold with the blues! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Absolutely awesome card today Justin. I just love it. I am becoming a big fan of tall and skinny cards lately and this one is absolutely breath taking. Thanks so much for sharing it.

Nicole did a fantastic job decorating. I don’t know where she got that table but I love it. That would fit beautifully in my log home for sure. LOL Thank her for allowing you to share those photos with us.

Now, go get cleaning so you get it over with and still have all day tomorrow as well as tonight to relax and have fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you very much Grace! I am addicted to tall & skinny cards! I love the blues and the “scribble” stamps are great!
Nicole did do a wonderful job! I think that she got the table from West Elm, it would definitely look great in your log home! I will thank her!
Ha, no cleaning took place! We’ll see if it happens today! I did have fun instead! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Hi Justin! Beautiful card for today—love the gold embossing on the vellum. So pretty. And those snowflakes are gorgeous. I love Nicole’s home—my word, she did an awesome job. Looks like something you’d see in the Pottery Barn store. I love that table! I’ve very intrigued by the coffee table and what the top of that looks like? Great job Nicole! So it’s only Saturday Justin…get your work done so you can play the rest of today and also tomorrow!

    1. Hello Karen!
Thanks so much! I have a little problem with embossing on vellum! I need to refill my Versa-Mark pad too often! LOL!
Yes, Nicole did a fantastic job, I love her rooms! I thought the same as you and the pictures have a magazine like feel to them! I think that the top of the coffee table is a mirror! I decided to play yesterday and do my work today! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Yay, Nicole. Very pretty; I approve. Justin, I just used this 25 on a birthday card, but you’ve given me an idea to use it on my Christmas cards, too. I need to get busy doing something fun because I’m a little blue since my guests left. Oh, and speaking of blue, I like it on your card, too! Like a dark winter night sky. Mmm!

    1. Thanks Georgie! She will ba happy to see all of the comments! I think that the 25 for a birthday card is a great idea! I am with you on being blue and needing to get my Christmas cards made! We’ll have to motivate each other! ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Nicole’s rooms are awesome. Love her look and feel. I really lie the dining room table and old dresser.

Great card, I really liked all your cards from the pat couiple days. I especially like the embossing on this cad and on the joy card. I rarely heat emboss yet I love tge look.

Shopping, HECK NO! I really hate crowds and some folks are just rude. My kids will be harding back tomorrow so I am enjoying family time and relaxing with them. I really need to clean my craft room, but there will be time for that tomorrow. Today off with daughter to see Mockingjay Part 1, I love the HUnger Games. Then I need to get two quilts binded, I hate the handstitching part

    1. Thanks Linda! She did do a really great job decorating! I love that table and dresser too!
Thanks very much! I have been having a lot of fun with the cards lately! I heat emboss too much, but I love the results and I never tire of watching the powder melt!
I’m glad to hear that you don’t do the Black Friday thing either! The people do get really rude around the holidays! I’m glad that you have time to spend with the kiddies! There is always time for stuff tomorrow, I put off all of my stuff yesterday! Oops! You’ll have to let me know how you enjoy the movie, I’m supposed to go on Tuesday! Have a fun day! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Hey Justin, this card is beautiful, I love the pool party embossing and the swirly circles are really cool! Your friend has done an amazing job of redecorating her home, looks like a magazine, but still very comfortable and homely – the perfect couch to fall asleep on ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. Hey Kelly!
Thank you! I love the swirly circles and wish that we had more! I will let Nicole know to read the comments! She will be very happy to hear how much everyone likes her rooms! Yes, I need a better couch, mine is too small! ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Justin, I enjoy reading your blog and seeing all the creative things you share. Your card is unique and very pretty. Your friend’s remodel looks cozy and warm. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Deba,
Thanks so much! I like to make my blog more about people along with creativity! It makes it more fun for us both! I’m so happy that you enjoyed the pictures and the card! Thanks again! ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Wow, your friend’s place is awesome! Just my style too ๐Ÿ˜‰ Our new place is more colonial traditional-y, so I can’t update too much – unless I want to gut the place. *sigh*

Your card today is so cool Justin! I’m doing the happy dance because when I saw the other card you used the PL December set on – I bought it!! So now I can kinda case this one too. I don’t have the swirly circle from the other set….hmmm, got to put on my thinking cap. Very clever to pull those two circles from different sets. Thanks for another wonderful card ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you Jill! Nicole did an amazing job on her redo! Yes, gutting the place would be a lot of work. ๐Ÿ™
Woo hoo! I really do love that Stamp Set! I have used it a lot and am glad that I got it! I wish we had more of those swirly circles! I have too look and see who else has them, they are just fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Your card is awesome, as usual, BUT Nicole’s decorating ROCKS! I am so into Edison lights right now to the point of redecorating, even though my place got a full renovation 3 years ago and wasn’t with my personal choices either. My kitchen looks like a hospital room or a padded room or something awful. It’s ALL WHITE! Trying to cut a deal with the quartz guy to take away the white quartz and take down the 2 x 2 baby glass squares of a really outdated light blue and who the heck said that chrome was back in? Ugh.

I’ve been so busy that I’m so behind and love the Christmas Bliss stamp set! I hope I have it, but that would entail me getting on my hands and knees to find it as I’m still very disorganized 5 months after moving.

    Hugs!

    1. Thank you so much Cindy! Yes, Nicole did a bang up job with her rooms! Edison lights are really cool, retro, love them too! I actually like a white kitchen. I don’t know about light blue square tiles though! LOL! Maybe you just need some pops of color! I love that Christmas Bliss Set, great greetings! I hope that you find some time to get organized, although I’m sure with the holidays upon up that won’t happen soon! Hugs back to you! ๐Ÿ™‚
