Merry Stars Winter Birthday

Monday again… but it’s a Monday of another short week! This morning I’m moving my office at work to a new space in the back of the building. It will be nice because I will have a door! I have a lot of stuff to get accomplished in three days this week, but it will get done! I had a nice day yesterday, I crafted in the morning and then my friend Sandy stopped by for a bit. Heather came and picked me up around 2:00 and we ran to Target. I got some new pillows and other necessities. I came back home and dropped off my stuff and then went over to her house for an early dinner. We decided that we wanted to run to IKEA to look at some stuff. I want a new wall unit and couch and she wants to get a new desk chair and another chair for the living room. I had to stop at my parents and help my Dad get a new washing machine down into the basement, that was nice and light! NOT! We went to IKEA and I found a couch that I love and also a wall unit. I think I might run back tomorrow and get the wall unit and put it together on Thursday. Not too bad for a Sunday!

In keeping with my promise to make cards to have on hand today I have a nice winter birthday card. It’s also a great way to get some more use out of those Christmas stamps! My card base for today is Whisper White Card Stock. I cut a piece of Pacific Point to cover the entire card front. A piece of Pool Party is used for my background and I heat embossed the snowflakes from the Many Merry Stars Photopolymer Stamp Set in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The large star and center star are also from the same set and are cut out with the Stars Framelits, my large one is Pacific Point and the small one is Vellum. Both images are again heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the Vellum star is adhered to the Pacific Point one with Multi-Purpose Glue. My greeting is from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set from the upcoming 2015 Occasions Catalog and is also heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Pacific Point. I used one of the dies from the Circle Card Thinlits to cut it out. The large star and the greeting are then adhered to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Not a bad way to get use some of your Christmas themed stamps after the holidays are over! I hope that you enjoyed my card today and as always, thank you so much for coming by to visit with me, you know how much I appreciate it! Have a magnificent Monday everyone! 🙂

  1. Hey Justin, it certainly looks like you have had a great Christmas break! Moving office and setting up your own space just the way you like it sounds like fun to me, something to do at work anyway (besides actual work, lol!). I liked your butterfly from yesterday, and today’s winter birthday card is pretty, my birthday is right in the middle of winter – June 30 😉 I hope to see photos of your new couch and wall unit soon? Enjoy your Monday Justin 🙂 xx

    1. Hello Kelly!
I did have a very nice Christmas break! It would have been fun to move and set up but the new space isn’t ready yet! Maybe tomorrow! Glad that you enjoyed both of the cards! Winter in June sounds so wrong to me! LOL! I am probably going to pick up the new wall unit tomorrow but I will have to save a little for the couch! 🙂

  2. Happy Monday Justin! Great card today! Love those blues! Just perfect for a winter birthday. I’m exhausted listening to what you did yesterday ;-). It’s always fun getting new things isn’t it? I love IKEA! Went there for the first time last summer. We don’t really have one around here, the closest was near Chicago. But that was a fun trip! I had found some everyday dishes that were just perfect! I had been looking for the right color/shape for about 5 years. I’m feeling the need to go back there again. Even my hubby (who’s not a big shopper) loved IKEA. Have a great day!

    1. A very happy Monday to you Marty! Thank you! I don’t think that I have ever used Pacific Point and Pool Party together before but they compliment each other nicely! LOL! Yes, I did do a lot, but I like it like that! IKEA is so great! Have you eaten there? The Swedish meatballs are awesome! I am lucky, IKEA is about 10 minutes from my house! Hope you had a nice Monday! 🙂

      1. I did try the Swedish meatballs there…they were yummy! I would get into a lot of trouble if I lived that close to one! 😉

  3. Good Morning Justin- wow you do get a lot accomplished in one day- I feel accomplished when I get a card done. I really like this card for a winter birthday- the blues work really well.
I love IKEA too but I always spend way too much time in there and forget why I came in the first place!
    Have a productive Monday.

    1. Hi there Marty! Ha! I do like to stay busy don’t I?! Thank you! I too love the blues!
I was in IKEA for about an hour and all I got was a clock and salt & pepper shakers! I did look at a lot of different things though and now know what I want! Hope you had a good Monday! 🙂

    1. Thank you Linda! I do try to get as much accomplished as I possibly can, but I would’t have it any other way! I like to veg too, I definitely don’t do that enough though! Ooh, I do love a little trip to Hobby Lobby! 🙂
