Mojo 376

Yesterday was a good day at work! Wanna know why? I got to go on a field trip to the Apple Store! My boss’ keyboard stopped working so I went to go and swap it out for a new one. I brought the computer with me so they could run some diagnostics and make sure that it wasn’t anything hardware related. The guy that helped me was really nice, as they always are. I do love a field trip, makes the day go faster! I came home and got to see little Daniel and his devilish smile! He’s so funny, he likes loud noises which most kids don’t like. He was walking around banging a plastic spoon on everything that he could and slamming the kitchen cabinet doors shut. When I came home I retreated to the Stampin’ Galley and had a nice Skype session with my friend Eva. Before I knew it it was 10:45! Yikes! So much for getting to bed early! And no, still no Christmas cards got made but I did start on a few! Progress!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo376

Hmm… do you see what I see? A little window, wonder what we are going to with that?! LOL! My card begins with a base of Kraft Card Stock. The background is a piece of Cherry Cobbler on the lower half and some Whisper White on the top. Before I adhered the background to the card I used some Sticky Strip to adhere some Gold Sequin Trim across the lower half. My shaker window is a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I heat embossed the sentiment from the Mingle All the Way Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. To create the window I used the Squares Collection and Circles Collection Framelits. Some of the Frosted Sequins and some gold ones are placed inside the window and a single layer of Foam Tape keeps them all contained. The snowflake is actually a Simon Says Stamp die called Melody and is cut out from some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and adhered with some Multi-Purpose Glue. I really do love a shaker card don’t I?! They are just a little more fun than a traditional card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Thank you for your visit and I wish you all a terrific Thursday because we know what tomorrow is!! And there is only a week left until Christmas peeps! I’d better get moving on those cards! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. STOP IT! Are you serious? Justin, did you buy this from a store??? I know you didn’t, I’m just kidding – there seems to be no end to your talent! I LOVE this card, it would take me til next Christmas to make enough of these to send, lol! Thank you so much for offering to visit Hot Topic for me, you are very sweet! – You wouldn’t believe it, but it actually arrived at our post office today and I picked it up! Yay!! So relieved! Your field trip sounds fun, love a diversion in the work day! We lost all power this morning, unfortunately we got it back a few minutes later, lol! Enjoy your Thursday, Justin, weekend’s almost here xxx ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. LOL! Thank you so much Kelly! It did take a little while to make and no, they won’t be my Christmas card to send out! I’m more thank happy to help out when I can! I love when they say something is going to be delayed and surprise, it’s there!! I do love to get out of work for a bit. Ha! I would be upset if the power went out, not you though huh?!?! LOL! I had a good day and hope that yours was fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. What a beauty! The gold foil paper totally rocks this shaker card. Really like that you left the background without texture and let the gold foil take center stage. Not to forget the sequin bling and cute little snowflakes. You keep adding depth with the embossed sentiment, brilliant. Justin I’m giving you a gold star! LOL

    1. Thank you Lisa! I thought that the shaker part of the card was enough to look at, I like it when you can leave the background “plain”! I do love some sequins! LOL! Yay! Love it when I get a gold star! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Yes yes yes- I love this card and the color combinations- it says Holidays to me! Your shaker cards are phenomenal- I wish that sometime in the future you could put together a tutuorial to show exactly how you do it. I seem to be somewhat challenged getting these together.
Well now you have one card made- progress!
Here it is Thursday already- almost the weekend.

    1. Thank you so much Marty! I am being told by many that I need to do some videos! I guess I will have to and a shaker card one should be the first I guess! Every little bit of progress helps! Happy Friday to you! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Justin, LOVE this card!!! OK it’s officialโ€ฆ. you’ve convinced me to love shaker cards. Did you see the Paper Pumpkin kit this month is shaker cards? Haven’t gotten it yet but its on the way. Have a great day and thanks for sharing.

  7. OMG I love this Justin!!! I love everything about it including it’s a shaker card and the beautiful gold and cherry combo. Can this be my Christmas card???

  8. I had so much fun chatting and working via Skype with you. Love this card and every thing about it!!! Justin you have to get your Christmas cards finished! XOXO

  9. Hi Justin:

This card is so classy and elegant. I love the gold foil card stock and the contents of your shaker card. Snowflakes and gold sequins – makes me think of a Victorian lady in an elegant red dress. Just beautiful and just the right amount of bling!

Today went by way to quickly without much fun. Doctor’s appointment and then grocery shopping. I hate grocery shopping! It never fails that I get home and have forgotten one or two items even though I bring a list. Tomorrow will be better – the hubs is taking me to Olive Garden for dinner to celebrate my turning from plain old old ti ancient! LOL

Hope you have a Fantastic Friday. Have to gotten to see the tree at Rockafella (sp?) Center yet? Hugs, Grace ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
Thank you very much! It does have a bit of a victorian feel to it!
Days with doctor’s appointments and grocery shopping days should go by quickly! You know that I am not a fan of the Dr!! I too always forget something at the grocery store but get something I didn’t have on the list!! LOL!
I hope that you you have a wonderful day today my friend!!!! Enjoy dinner! And HB!!
I will go and see the tree this weekend if I get time and take pictures! Hugs to you!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Beautiful card, Justin! I love the color combo and I especially love how the cherry cobbler sets off the gold embossing and the snowflakes in the shaker. Now, can you produce enough of these for all those on your card list this year? LOL! Good luck getting hit with the spirit soon!

    1. Thank you Melanie!! No, they would have had to be started about two months ago! LOL! I’ll have to do something this weekend!! ๐Ÿ™‚
