Ornate Bright Moonlight Christmas

Yesterday was a fun day. I tinkered in the Stampin’ Galley in the morning for a bit and then Andrew came over and we started working on getting his computer back in order. We installed a new hard drive and then began copying the backup over to it. While we were waiting we watched a bunch of videos on YouTube and Vevo. I came across Last Christmas by Wham!, I haven’t seen that video in years! Andrew ordered some pizza around 5:30 and we had dinner. He had to run to his dad’s to help out with his grandmother so I took a ride to see my friend Renee at her new scrapbook store Scrap-A-Latte in West Babylon. It’s coming along nicely! I met Andrew back at my house and we finished up the computer. He got most of his stuff back but we will make sure that he has a better backup plan in place so if this happens again he won’t loose anything! How was your Saturday?

Today I have a Christmas card that uses a new stamp from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog. I started the card off with a base of Soft Suede Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack. My tag is a piece of Smoky Slate that I created using the new Ornate Tag Topper Punch* from the 2015 Occasions Catalog. The tree is from the Holiday Home Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede and my greeting is from the Endless Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. The cute little house is from the You Made My Day Stamp Set** and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Sahara Sand and colored in with Prismacolor Pencils. I used gamsol and a paper stump to blend the pencils out for a nice smooth look. Some Wink of Stella is brushed on the roof of the house and the tips of tree branches for a little sparkle. The house is punched out with the What’s Up Punch and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I tied a piece of Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon through the top and adhered the tag to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few Sparkling Clear 4mm sequins are adhered with Crystal Effects and complete the card. I love when I can pull together some non-holiday items and make a Christmas card! I also love the way the colored pencils are nice and vibrant on the Sahara Sand! I hope that you enjoyed my very non-traditional Christmas card for today! As always, I appreciate you taking the time to come by and see me. Have a simple and wonderful Sunday! 🙂

  1. Ahhh . . . yes, I like this one very much. I love that house. The gray card stock is like dusk and the sequins are the stars. Very cozy. Hope to finish up my cards today, but you just never know that the day will bring.
    🙂

    1. Thanks Nancy! The house is cute! Isn’t it true that you never know what the day will bring! Mine rarely go how I planned! LOL! 🙂

  2. I agree with Nancy – I love that little house. The way you used the tag made it a card within a card. Even though these are definitely non traditional Christmas colors there is something so warm and inviting about this card that it definitely conveys the spirit of the season. What a fantastic card Justin. Just beautiful.

Glad you got Andrew squared away and that you had a good day yesterday. I spent most of the day making cookies and finally starting a breast cancer quilt I’ve been wanting to make for my daughter for two years now. All in all, Saturday was a great day.

I hope you have some fun plans for today. I am going to spend the day working on the quilt. You take care my friend. Hugs 🙂

    1. Thank you Grace! I was going for warm and cozy so I’m glad that you agree!
Yes, We were both happy that Andrew’s computer is fixed. Spending the day baking sounds like lots of fun! I’ll bet the house smelled amazing! I hope that you got lots of your quilt done! Hugs to you too! 🙂

  3. Hi Justin,
Fantastic card! It really is such a serene Christmas card. I love the colors and your coloring of the house is perfect!
My box of pre-order came but unfortunately I am in the hospital so I haven’t seen it yet. I came in on Thursday. I have pneumonia. It’s pretty bad. I really was having a difficult time breathing. But today is much better. The Dr’s just came in and are pleased with how I sound today. They have been very concerned. So I think I will be in another day or 2.
So no cards for Christmas sent out from me this year. That’s OK. There is always next year!
I am glad you were able to get Andrews computer working. I had that happen once and it was not fun.
Justin, thank you for sharing your part of the world with us, it is always a bright spot to my day!
Have a great Sunday, my friend
    Donna

    1. Hello Donna,
Thanks so much! I too love the colors!
I’m so sorry that you are in the hospital again! I wish you a speedy recovery!!
I still haven’t done my Christmas cards! I did get some cards done yesterday, birthday and thank you.
Yes, Andrew is happy that he is back in business!
Thank you for coming by, as always! I’m so glad that we get to chat! Feel better!
      XO 🙂

  4. This one of my favorite cards and scenes! I love the little house and the sequins (don’t let anyone give you a hard time about using sequins!). Your table top is beautiful too. I am intrigued by the Thailand label on your table. Will you shed light on that? I am so glad you were able to help Andrew (was there doubt that you could?). I can’t wait to hear more about a new scrapbook store. So many have closed here! I hope she succeeds! Have a fun Sunday and a great week…Nancy B

    1. Thank you so much Nancy! I don’t pay any attention to the sequin haters! LOL! I love them! The tabletop is actually a tray from Target! The Thailand is where the tray is made. Andrew is happy that he is back in working order too! I will take pictures of the scrapbook store when it’s more finished. Hope you had a good Sunday too! 🙂

  5. Hi there Justin! Great card today…I love the non-traditional colors you used! Ok, I love that new ornate tag topper punch! This is such a cute card and of course I’m loving the sequins! (that should make Michael happy too ;-)) Hope you have a nice, relaxing Sunday!

    1. Hello Karen!
Thank you! You know how I love a non-traditional holiday card!! LOL! I’m sure that Michael will love the sequins too! He did actually use some on his project the other day! I had a good Sunday and hope that you did too! 🙂

  6. Hi Justin, this card is very cute, I like the house and the little tree – is that the sale-a-bration part? It’s Monday morning here, we had our community carols in the park last night – much setting up/packing up and organising, a really late night! It’s was fun though, the countdown to Christmas is on! What do you have planned for the big day? We will spend it with my family, my Dad is really unwell so it will be nice to have the whole family together 🙂 Enjoy whats left of your weekend Justin xx

    1. Hello Kelly!
Thank you! Yes, the house is in the Sale-A-Bration catalog. I’ll bet that the caroling was fun! There is always lots to do before and after but as long as the middle is good it’s all worth it! Sorry to hear that your dad isn’t well, I hope that he gets better. I had a nice weekend! 🙂
